Staff very polite and helpful. The food we ordered was so good. Lots to choose from and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Ate breakfast here on Sunday morning. Sat outside in the sun and admired views of the countryside. Food was awesome and made of high quality ingredients. The service from our waitress, Molly was five star.

Visited yesterday and had to come back today for food . Gets a 10 out of 10 from me. Food was amazing and I'm a fussy eater . Great price . Large portions . Good quality food . We will be back . Van friendly . Dog friendly . Lush little spot . . Visited once again and can not fault this place at all . Only gets better never disappoints .

Stopped at The Woodpecker for an evening meal a couple of days ago, after reading positive reviews and we were not disappointed. Burgers were big and well cooked, chicken breast burgers were not dry and the gammon steaks were huge! Everything was freshly cooked to order and didn’t take much time at all. We even got food envy after seeing what other people had ordered! We were very tempted to return the following evening to try more from menu! Friendly staff, dogs welcome and games available to play while you wait.

Fantastic little place with great food! Infact left us wanting to come back to try other things!

Friendly atmosphere loads of parking and you can even stay overnight in your campervan in the carpark.

Last day of our hols and stopped here for food. It had looked inviting when past it earlier in the week. We weren't disappointed. The food was excellent, and the staff were polite and welcoming. The toilet was clean but dimly lit, so my 7 yr old found it scary and wouldn't use it until we suggested making it brighter with a torch.

A fantastic place, all round. The parking, food, the drink & most of all, lovely staff who are very accomodating, always a smile and cheerful. Have visited numerous times & will be again in the near future. Highly recommended.

Lovely food, and surprisingly empty. It's very worth the 5 min detour to get there. We had gammon, fish finger sandwich, and jerk chicken burger. We all thoroughly enjoyed the meal and under £20, including the dog sausages and drinks.

Booked a table last minute for a family of four. We loved the simplicity and quirkiness, the food was incredible and plenty of choice for the kids. The hosts were fantastic too. We come to the area regularly through the summer and will be back without a doubt.

Seating not very comfortable and the toilets aren't great but decent food and campers can stay in the car park overnight for free. Very friendly staff.

Nice little stop over here, we stayed in the carpark here overnight which was very handy and appreciated. Amazing veg Thai curry, and very friendly staff. Little play area out front, close to mountain bike and walking trails. Personally I found the music a little loud and it was a bit uncomfortable and cold, the toilets could also do with a little love, clean but not all that nice. Loved the staff though, and I can see how this place could grow into something amazing

A fantastic pub that everyone needs to visit. The food was absolutely incredible! Hosts were super welcoming and friendly. They accommodated our daughter’s food requests (extra pickles on the burger and adults portion of scampi!) without any hesitation. The specials menu was inspired and we loved the calamari, tagliatelle and the Thai fish cake. Warm atmosphere and dog friendly. We absolutely love coming back every time we are in the area.

Excellent food cooked to perfection, very generous portions, calamari so good worth going just for that. Will return, staying overnight in our camper will be ready for breakfast at 9,just seen fallow dear at the bottom of the field real countryside visible from the car park.

We're here with the motorhome, parked up for the night. Terrific food and a good few guinesses too. Really friendly vibe and one of a kind

More of a locals place. Tiny and have to fight past locals to get in past the bar. Inside was like sitting inside someone's shed and no comforts. Cold and dark and no comfy seats just 4 tree trunk high tables. Very limited selection of drinks and no ale on draft. Cannot comment on food as didn't stay long enough.

This food was absolutely amazing! The service was a little bit slow but it's probably because this is just a small restaraunt/bar. This place has a dog that was by the entrance who is super calm and relaxed. Music was a little loud. Highly recommend and would come again!

Drove 10 miles to get there after checking in line to see if open but no one there all in darkness and sign saying closed!! Not good service!

Great place to eat. Food was fabulous, very accommodating to food intolerances/allergies, dog and child friendly. Amazing food, great staff, dog treats, marshmallows by a campfire, a bus with a ball game inside and a nature trail. What more could you ask for x

Friendly Staff, decent food (good sized portions for me and my two teenage rugby playing boys) and a really chilled out atmosphere. Music was relaxing without being intrusive. It's a good, honest bar without the 'trendy pretentiousness' that many have.

Qwerty place ,absolutely love it ! , very friendly staff , great pub grub , reasonably priced, stayed in our motorhome in the carpark and enjoyed a fried breakfast in the morning. Will be stopping again and already recommended to others.

Just been with my wife and 4 boys 6-15 for a meal . The welcome and service great and we soon found a table. The food was great and affordable. We would definitely return. Thankyou

We went at 9am midweek having heard good things. The breakfast was good but wasn't particularly memorable. The staff are very efficient and smile but lack friendliness! The outside tables would be cramped if busy and the inside has massive wood slab bar tables which are lovely but hard to get around to get to the facilities if people are at them. Toilets leave a lot to be desired - need a good scrub and a lick of paint. Overall it's OK but needs some tweaks to make it good - I hope they do as it shows real promise.

Wow what an absolute Jem of a find, walked in and was greeted straight away and said we could sit where we choose.. the girl came out straight away took our drink orders… was brilliant any meal they did a smaller portion of for the children for only £5.. when the food came out we was amazed on portion size and when we tasted it was just so fresh and perfect.. the bloke talked to us about the food and what they use in the ingredients… very cute little playhouse outside with some beer statues.. all the staff were so friendly and said about their goals for the outside. We can’t wait to head back to eat there again… Highly recommended 🤩

We stopped off here today (New Years day) on the off chance of getting some grub on the way up to Ilfracombe. We had a warm welcome and excellent food, really fresh, reasonably priced, & good portion sizes! Also has a campsite - Would 100% recommend this place to anyone passing, especially those in a camper!

Lovely food, that was reasonably priced. The service was faultless.

If i could i would have given half a star. We drove into the carpark facing the outside of the front of pub, a bit worried about getting out as customers looked like hillbillies and ruff as hell. We had to kick our way through sawdust to get to the bar. We only stayed for 1 drink and thankfully left in one piece.

Great breakfast and nice friendly staff. Made us welcome as first time visitors and service was excellent. Good value menu and cool layout inside with huge wooden tables. Wood chip on the floor which was a bit odd but they do have some late night revellers.

Very delicious food served in decent size portions, fast serving, nice and friendly staff, nice views around and a large swing in the garden. Parking is for free, atmosphere is great and the prices are lower than the competition around

Popped in on Sunday evening for a meal. Was told that there would be a 30 minute wait for food as they had a big order which we did not mind. The lady at the bar without looking up from what she was doing said to sit down and someone would be over to take our order. We sat down and watched lots of staff wondering around however 10 minutes passed and no one had been over to get our order. 5 minutes later another party walked in and sat down. The lady went straight over to them to get their order so we decided that we were not going to wait anymore. Shame I can't discuss how the food or drink was but I will not be returning to find out. Depot up the road is worth a visit.

Don't make the mistake of driving past this gem of a place! Great pints, wonderful service and the best pub grub to be had around these parts! Additionally you can sit outside and watch the deer cavort and kestrels swoop around whilst enjoying the sun. Highly recommended.

Decent enough spot with good sized and tasty burgers. There's a fair selection of alcoholic drinks available but unfortunately the bar staff were not particularly knowledgeable on the drinks but only a minor thing and they we're happy to help reading labels and letting me look at them myself so I could choose. I'd definitely recommend the old blue burger as the steak, mushrooms and blue cheese Combination was great.

Lovely food and service. Not much choice of indoor seating but not a problem during the Summer. Couldn't believe the size of the ribs!
