This was a lunchtime meeting with family. The service was outstanding and unhurried. Take note of the unhurried part. The art deco style decor is bold but not overwhelming. This restaurant has no view. The menu is solid and appeals to a wide range of tastes from works canteen upwards. I like it but I wouldn't make it my regular. But only because it's not quite my own personal style, most will love it.

This is a high-end restaurant near the bank station. The atmosphere and music are very exquisite. The service staff is considerate and attentive. There are not many choices of main dishes, but they are very distinctive. It is very enjoyable to dine. The restaurant has a rich wine list that you can slowly choose from. It is worth coming with good friends to taste it carefully.

We had a lovely impromptu Tuesday evening dining experience at the Wolseley City. The polite and accommodating staff managed to find us a table and short notice and the service was friendly and professional. We had a quarter pint of deliciously sweet prawns, the deluxe soufflé and the tasty duck confit with savoy cabbage and bacon side. The grand setting made for a fantastic experience. Will come again.

I went last night, the food was not amazing in terms of quality to be honest but, the place and setting are very nice and the service was very good too. I will go back because my office is very close by and it is also a good place to potentially take customers however, I hope the food quality will improve and become more tasty too (I had the house Gnocchis as a main and it was quite tasteless I am afraid).

Had dinner for 1 here in Christmas Eve. So I get it's Christmas Eve, but the place is not full, spare tables, no on on the mezzanine etc. Service was pretty awful. 14 min wait just to get a menu. Had to track a waiter down to pour the wine, which they do not leave near the table. Finally accosting a waiter resulted in the silent treatment and side eye. Ugh Food was mixed. Ribeye was good. Chicken Schnitzel was dry and overcooked. Overall very poor and not recommended at all. Best avoided

We had a 7:30pm Christmas Eve reservation for 4. The food was ok. We ordered two bottles of wine which were kept in a different place, away from the table, so when we wanted a top up we had to ask a waiter to bring it to us. When they’d pour, they’d drip the wine over the table. Before the deserts (around 9:00pm) all the tables that had finished were already set up for the following day. The staff were more focused on cleaning cutlery -which we could constantly hear in the background- and setting up tables for tomorrow rather than us having a good experience. Lastly, the mandatory service charge was 15%.

I ordered poached eggs on fish cakes, and it was nice enough. The latte I ordered was okay but came with froth and chocolate, so it was more of a cappuccino than a latte. The plating could have been better, but plating doesn't impact the taste, so I wasn't overly concerned with it. The cafe decor itself is classic, but I presume they cannot modernise as it's located in a listed building. The service was great, friendly, and efficient.

Superb decor, gorgeous silver service crockery, cutlery etc. Service is average - took at least 30 minutes before we got our first drink and to get a bottle of wine was another long wait. Waitress slopped a lot of water just in front of me when pouring - enough to soak the tablecloth but no offer of mopping it up. Sat in a booth with a low back bench seat that was back to back with another booth - lots of accidental head knocking and shoulder hits with the diners behind us. Food: Oysters were superb - roast celeriac was bland and for £25 there were 3 tissue paper thin slices, with half a soggy roasted carrot and parsnip. But the roast potatoes were superbly crunchy and delicious. Caramelised pineapple for dessert was delicious. Partner had the fish pie which he said was "fine". Friends had duck and roast chicken both "fine". There is a cover charge, bottled water is very expensive so ask for tap water. I would have asked for the service charge to be removed had I not been with other friends. Overall a real disappointment for the £430 price tag.

Used for a business dinner a few times and cannot stress enough how fantastic the service is. We used the private room tonight, previously, and have booked for future, and I am terribly sorry for this because I can't remember his name, but our server was honestly unbeatable. He is the Bangladeshi host, who my older colleague always makes cricket jokes with, so he will know who we are. Sometimes it can be easy to forget what good service should be in high end restaurants, but he (and the restaurant) set the bar very high. They were incredible in their attendance to us, friendly and welcoming presence, and cannot fault a single second of our evening. Outside of the service, the food is 10/10, it's delicious, cocktails are amazing, and whilst pricey it is worth every penny. I've paid much more for a fraction of the service and food quality many times before. I'll update after our next dinner with our amazing server's name becease he is the main reason the dinners here are so enjoyable.

Booked a table for 7:30 last night and arrived on time. It was a bit chilly so we had coats. We had to take them to our table and put them on the seat next to us as no offer of a cloakroom A few minutes later our bread arrived (which was very good) but no side plate, so we’re holding the bread and trying to butter in our hands. Very strange. Oysters weren’t shucked very well so I had quite a bit of shell to crick through. But the prawn and avocado cocktail was good for my wife. Main course and desserts were both pretty good but nothing special. The bill arrived with a “discretionary 15% tip on”. I don’t think the meal deserved 15% so I gave 10%. Only for the waiter to come back with the bill in 1 hand and the cash in another asking why I had only given 10%. These restaurants put “discretionary” on their bills then expect you to pay it, I guarantee if I paid more it wouldn’t have questioned it. From now on I will be insisting on them removing the tip before I pay, that way there can be no confusion on what “discretionary” means and I won’t be returning here.

One of my most disappointing meal in many years. First time at the City branch . The Piccadilly branch always managed to provide enough substance with the style regretfully a celebratory family gathering at the City missed the mark on nearly all levels. Maybe going on for Sunday lunch meant they were short handed in front of house but it was tough to get any attention. Food was poor or just okay. Sent back the bacon chops as they were inedible , Bloody Mary watery and had no spice, lemon or tabasco. Meal was bland conveyor belt stuff and definitely expect more for about £100 a head. Overall left regretting having chosen the restaurant. Will not be going back and should have known better.

Dined in the Private Dining room at the weekend celebrating a 50th birthday. I found Davina to be super helpful leading up to the event. She was in contact as soon as the booking was made to make arrangements for the day including arranging a surprise birthday cake (which was delicious), and allowing me access to the room in plenty of time to set.things up. She also liaised with the chef who was kind enough to have a little bit of flexibility with the fixed menu. Nothing was too much trouble and I always received a prompt response to any queries I had. Freddie was our designated room host on the day and we couldn’t have been happier with the care and service he provided. We were treated royally. The Private Dining rooms are beautifully kitted out and feel quite decadent - the perfect setting for celebrating half a century. We had a set menu (with a few subtle changes) and the food didn’t disappoint. Each course was excellent. The surprise cheesecake, superb! We stayed longer than planned once the wine was flowing and the room was available throughout. It was a memorable day made more special by the great service we received and delicious food. Would highly recommend.

Quite a luxurious and pricey restaurant, and naturally we have very high expectations. The restaurant delivered it well and while it has some minor areas for improvement, we had a great experience! The interior has a very posh and luxurious design, which we really loved. Meal started off with bread and butter. We ordered a Chicken Soup with Metzo Dumpling starter, which unfortunately was quite underwhelming as the Metzo dumpling was too salty. Grilled fish of the day was super fresh and delicious, and was one of our favorite dishes. Chicken schnitzel was well fried, and portion size was unexpectedly huge! Flat iron steak frites was cooked to the desired wellness, though portion size is relatively small compared to the schnitzel. For sides, the savoy cabbage with bacon and mashed potatoes were really flavourful and tasty - definitely our favorite sides. The creamed spinach was quite disappointing - we had much better creamed spinach in other restaurants. We also had desserts - mostly ice creams, which were very artisanal and refreshing. Gin and grapefruit sorbet was really refreshing after such a heavy meal. Coupe Lucian was also very delicious, though it can be super heavy and sinful, given the caramel sauce and whipped cream that comes along with it. The cheese platter was surprisingly large, and could have been a course by itself. The best dessert we tried has to be the Marmalade Bread and Butter Pudding - done to perfection. Staff were trained very well and were professional. They took note who ordered what, and ensured that the utensils matched the food item.

The vegetable/plant main was somewhat a let down, but I was very glad to see a dish that doesn't rely on unimaginative onion and chilli. On paper, I liked the dish, white beans should be cooked well, soft and fat, having taken on the flavour of the broth, however these beans needed longer soaking and cooking time. Some pieces of artichoke were inedible as tough. The aubergine was mostly tasty, but missing the lovely caramelisation aubergines cooked well can have, and one piece of aubergine was just seeds, like when they are old and turn dry a little bitter. I ordered marmalade bread and butter pudding and also tried the creme brulé and the baked (?) cheesecake. The desserts at The Wolseley City are delicious. They could use a vegan chef to prepare vegetable dishes; someone that understands how to make the most of vegetables.

Ouch.... this place has all the fundamentals to become a great restaurant, but boy does it have a way to go before it gets there. I've been a regular at The Wolseley in Piccadilly for 20 years. It's a great restaurant. I have never on a single occasion had reason to complain. However, on my first visit to The Wolseley "City" a number of unusual things happened which one would not expect: - The restaurant did not have several things listed on the menu - The waiter serving the starter noticeably smelled like BO - The kitchen was wholly unable to cook meat to a particular cuisson I'm not sure how someone with poor personal hygiene makes it on to the dining room floor of a restaurant like The Wolseley. One simply cannot help but wonder in how many other areas quality control is lacking if something like that can happen. Similarly, I don't understand how not cooking meat to a desired temperature is possible. If in doubt, use a thermometer. It is a fool proof approach which never fails. There are many restaurants where one wouldn't be surprised if these things happened, but The Wolseley brand ought to be a guarantee of a higher standard. In the instance, the head waiter was very understanding and apologetic. Things were taken off the bill etc. But ultimately, we never look for cheap or apologetic. We look for high quality and consistency. In summary: Good foundation, but not on this occasion the required standard.

We came for a business meeting for coffee and cocktails at 3.30pm on a Friday afternoon. We had aggressive rude service by our first waiter who interrupted our conversation by saying "hello, hello" in a feisty, unpleasant way. This was completely unnecessary. Then a waitress told us we had to order lunch because we had made a reservation but a) who eats lunch at 3.30? b) it's a Friday afternoon in the City so no pressure on tables; and c) only 3 tables were occupied. I think more flexibility is needed here, the restaurant was almost empty so the waiting staff really just needed to give us what we wanted rather than forcing us to eat. We ordered food and this was good. The waiter with the goatee beard who cleared the table was lovely and partially compensated for the poor service beforehand. I hope management take note of the points above, I don't want to email the restaurant and neither do I want to be contacted.

Our breakfast choice included eggs florentine for me, while my partner opted for eggs atop fishcakes. We also shared pancakes with fruit, though they were a tad overdone. Accompanying my meal was a pot of coffee, which I found slightly weak for my taste; I'll remember to request a stronger brew next time. The interior decor was breathtaking, and the service was efficient, albeit lacking the unparalleled professionalism found at their other location. Overall, it's a splendid spot for special occasions or a luxurious treat.

Amazing spot as expected! The food and atmosphere are fantastic. The only thing was our service was a bit slow. Still giving it a 5, as I think it was just our small area with the slow service.

Beautiful Bar to have a drink in, very close to Monument Tube Station. The Art Deco style is truly awesome, such a nice place to relax in 😎 Didn't try the Restaurant, so can't comment on the food. The Bar drinks are good, but the Bar staff are a bit miserable/cold 👎 Still worth a visit though 👍

Great service and lovely atmosphere around lunchtime on a Tuesday. Room for improvement in the choice of food, especially the hors d'oeuvre. The portion sizes were rather conservative, albeit good quality.

We dined out with friends at The Wolseley City last Friday and had a truly wonderful evening. All of our meals, without exception, were prepared impeccably, the serving staff were attentive and accommodating, and the atmosphere was vibrant without being overwhelming. The jazz play list was lovely and well curated, and it was a rare treat to be able to enjoy the music without having to shout above it. The room is quite beautiful - created by the esteemed design team at Fabled Studio - and it all added up to a really special night. I should also note, with admiration, that the management had clearly addressed and resolved the teething issues of the early days of its opening, and really made this a celebration of culinary finesse with a service and ambience to match. I have no doubt that this will become as much an iconic highlight for The City as its sister restaurant is for the West End.

Sumptuous Sunday roast at the Wolseley City… With so many places closed on Sunday, finding the Wolseley was a miracle! The food was an absolute delight. The staff were incredible, Dan was really welcoming… and Eric was a real character 🙏 he really knew the menu and made the perfect suggestions. I had a starter of Prawn cocktail, was absolutely delicious and my partner had oysters which really hit the spot. The roast dinner was exceptional, next level stuff wow! Best beef I’ve had in a very long time. Followed by a devine Creme Brûlée… There was a live jazz band which was a great surprise. Would I recommend the Wolseley on a Sunday.. absolutely 🙏

Caught up with an old colleague for a coffee; it’s a convenient location near Monumnrnt station. Good spot for a discussion on a busy thoroughfare. The cafe was quite noisy with dropped cups & plates, staff conversations etc. No problem though as wasn’t busy mid afternoon. Coffee itself was well presented, although a little weak for personal preference

What a fabulous room, art deco splendour conviently located for Bank and Monument Tube. Full English Breakfast at £22.50. Whats not to like...well, once you've had toast, coffee and juice it's approaching £100 for two. Just the wrong price. When a restaurant of this standard want to charge extra for toast with a FULL English breakfast you know you are having your pants pulled down. £6.50 for a filter coffee ?? Please...I won't be bringing anymore client business here.

Jon was a star good humour, conversation was lovely. Polite, respectful. He sorted out a table for us. Nothing was any trouble. The lady was so kind remembering us from earlier in the day when we returned for a dinner. Food presented was well done and a delight to eat.

good welcome and generous portions to the point that for 2 adults and a child, we only had 2 fish and chips. I removed one star because the whole thing was very greasy, to the point that oil was leaking from the cans. otherwise nothing to complain about. Please note it is not possible to pay other than in cash.

Reserved a table at Steak and Co. for 4:30pm to enjoy their lunch menu, which runs until 5pm. Arrived to find out half the lunch options were ‘unavailable’—only fish and chips, a salad, and tuna steak were left. Funny thing is, I could see other tables ordering the steak on stove (at full price), which apparently ‘ran out’ for the lunch menu. No heads-up despite having my email from the booking, and they only told me as I walked in. Left immediately and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Disappointing and poorly managed.

They did not have an extensive menu for a Large restaurant. Both times I've been here I chose different and opposite to my guest who enjoyed theirs much more. I had the chicken escalope which was served with a halo of Parmesan over broccoli tenderstem and radicchio., which did not Look pleasing to the eye. My guest had the crab risotto which seemed a better dish to Look at and savour. As a restaurant and dining experience the service I could not fault The outside under the canopy is much preferred with good weather to do this. My particular evening it was very windy
