1st time here on a dull Saturday afternoon with my partner, son, his daughter (3 yrs)and partner. On arrival, greeted and had a few drinks whilst waiting for our table (we arrived early). The place has a wonderful laid back atmosphere. Shown to our lovely table by the log fire and shown the menus. This is great, 2 large blackboards with all the food listed. There is a great selection of dishes here. It was hard to decide what to have but had some great advice from the staff. The food was totally superb. I chose this place due to the variety of the menu and the pics of the food. Often, reality doesn't quite match the photos but I've enclosed mine here because reality did live up to what's on the pub website. We had a fab time, really enjoyed it and will be back again. A real gem this one.

I had heard The Windmill did a nice Sunday lunch. I wasn't prepared for what we got - absolute perfection from the second we walked through the doors. The service was second to none, despite it being clearly very busy, ad we were chatting and forgot to look at the menu, the waiting staff remained good humoured, polite, professional and downright friendly throughout. The came the food. For starters my husband had what he described as 'The freshest prawns he has ever tasted', while my garlic mushrooms were to die for. On to the mains, and our group had a variety of Sunday roasts. All were really well cooked, the slow roasted meats simply fell apart, and were completely delicious. And there was so much! Everything on our plates was cooked to perfection, there was literally nothing you could have wished to be any different. The setting is glorious, the ambience in The Windmill is welcoming, relaxed, and there is a feeling of space, despite there being a lot of people there eating while we were there, there were no difficulties with bumping into other people etc. We will definately be going back, The Windmill is totally amazing.

I have been meaning to rave about this Pub since we were lucky enough to have a post IRC Triathlon meet at Mallory Park in early September. The food was great, particularly the Pie of the day, and the chips were fantastic too. No mean feat to get me to single out these but the quality was so good. Top ingredients and a very proud owner partnership. If you want good good food you will not be disappointed based on our visit. Well done guys.

My wife and I went to the Windmill to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Given the reviews I had high hopes for this place. The first table we were seated at was next to the kitchen entrance and the pots & pans clanging made it hard to hear conversation with my wife so we asked asked a staff member to be reseated which they duly did without hesitation. Unfortunately that meant we were moved nearer the the bustling bar area with its accompanying hubbub of others' conversations. The real problem however was a customer's dog (border collie sized) that would bark quite loud and suddenly at regular intervals (maybe one or twice a minute) so we could never really relax. The Windmill advertises its main dining area as a restaurant, but I would suggest its more of an extended bar area. As for the food.. we enjoyed it, and the portions were generous. We found the "tapas" concept as described to us confusing, and the menu even more confusing. Typically with a tapas style restaurant the dishes would be smaller and cheaper than an entree and one would order 4-6 dishes for two people. But these dishes were entree sized and entree priced (£11-14) so we just ordered 2 dishes and two sides (rice & veggies) and that was more than enough. The menu was confusing in that its not clear what the theme is.. its not "pub food", its not fine dining, there were pizzas but there was also lamb tagine and thai prawn salad and beef stroganoff.. such a mismatch of food that would make any "tapas style" sharing a very odd experience. I'll reiterate, we did enjoy the food, but the dining experience was left wanting

Friday 9th August 2024. My husband and I travelled up to Newbold Verdun in Leicestershire to go out to lunch with Mark’s cousin Roger and his wife Janine. We went to a lovely country pub called ‘The Windmill’ just ten minutes from where Roger lives in Brascote. We arrived for 12.30 pm and were shown to a nice table for four in the restaurant. The pub itself is light, bright and airy with a lovely restaurant dining area, where we were seated on this lovely sunny afternoon. The place was nice and cool and the staff was bright and welcoming. We shared starters, Roger and Janine had halloumi fries with a sweet chilli dip. My husband and I had bread and olives with olive oil and balsamic dip, the bread was soft and warm and the starters were just the perfect size to get the palate started. For our main courses; Roger beef brisket with gorgonzola with kalimchi fries. Janine had chicken ‘Korma’ curry with green vegetables, which she said was delicious. My husband had the Moroccan lamb with pliau rice; he said the lamb just melted in the mouth. I had the mushroom stroganoff with garlic and herb potatoes, which was delicious. The dishes all arrived together and were very hot and well presented. We washed all this lovely food down with two pints ‘Scorcher’ bitter for Roger, two pints of ‘Codswallop’ bitter for My husband, a large glass of rose wine for me. Janine had chilled sparkling water as she does not drink alcohol. We all had desserts, as the chef did his own home-made ice creams and these we all could not resist. Roger had rum and raisin ice cream. Janine had peanut butter ice cream. My husband had lemon curd meringue ice cream and I had the hazelnut praline ice cream, which was delicious. We all had after dinner drinks. Roger and My husband had black Americano coffees. Janine had a cappuccino coffee and I had a lemoncello and ice as I did not want a coffee. The bill for the meal was very reasonable. We will definitely be returning to this lovely place.

From the moment you step into the windmill there is a buzz, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Cool music, happy clients and more important happy staff. This husband and wife team have got it sorted. Their son was also behind the bar. The other waitress was just delightful. It was a Thursday night and full, they do a kind of tapas menus full of enticing flavours, we had many dishes each one exceptional. For pudding affogato! Amazing! We were 4 adults (inc 2 veggies), a 2 year old and a dog. We sat in the bar area. The couple running the place were super friendly and took us through the menu which is made up of loads of starters, mains (which can be shared “tapas style”) and pizzas. We ordered a mix of the mains, a couple of sides and a couple of pizzas. Everything was delicious (the crispy, chilli beef was soooooo good!) and, despite possibly slightly over ordering, we polished off everything - unfortunately leaving no room for dessert (which was a shame as the dessert menu looked amazing and included lots of homemade ice creams :-)) Would highly recommend!

Stumbled upon this local pub and it’s a surprising find - the dishes here are exquisite! All of them were meticulously designed with creative use of both Asian & Western flavours and spices. The slow roast beef brisket is a must-try, it’s so tender and literally melts in the mouth. The pulled pork pancakes are also amazing, sliced duck is usually the go-to in Asia with these pancakes, but the flavours of the pulled pork also works well with the pancakes.

Came in on a Friday afternoon with my fiancé for lunch and we were not disappointed. Greeted by the lovely Millie who talked us through the menu and what they recommend. The menu was quite large with different inspirations from British cuisine to Japanese inspired dishes. We went for 3 large plates and 2 sides between the two of us and walked out very pleased. The brisket fell apart beautifully, the Spanish prawns were flavourful, the teriyaki chicken strips were perfect with such an intense flavour, the kimchi loaded fries were such an incredible combination, however my fiancé said his only criticism food wise was there wasn’t enough kimchi) and the halloumi fries were the best we’ve ever tasted. Everything was so fresh and absolutely perfect! The only thing I will say is that the service was slow but that was clearly due to lack of staff. There were only 2 servers working and doing an amazing job however another pair of hands would’ve helped as we were waiting quite a while to order. We were very lucky to get a table having been recommended the night before by some friends we just happened to drive by at Midday on Sunday ( I know !!) Anyway we got a nice table , ordered the meal; from a short but excellent menu. Some wine too. The food was so well prepared and presented with some of the best gravy ever it is not hard to see why people rave over this place. Super fresh veggies, Yorkshire puddings possibly a touch over but still lovely, great roasties and the most lean and tender lamb ever. My wife's Pork was equally sublime too Combined with very friendly service there is truly nothing to complain about . Portions are very generous : very reasonably priced Pub Sunday lunches are something I avoid really but not again, my choice of venue will be limited to the Windmill however. Just too risky

I had Sunday lunch on Jan 10th with a friend & the food was excellent in every way & the service too. Once again I met my friends for Sunday lunch at the Windmill 21/1)24 and it was delicious the service was excellent too. It has had a refurbishment and looks great can't wait to visit again.

One of many trips out to the Windmill. Always greeted with the warmest of welcomes by the FOH staff. The food is tapas sort of style but is by far the best we’ve had in the area. Compliments to the kitchen team! Always a pleasure...

Soooooooo over priced. Holy moly!! You get next to no food, teeny tiny portions (not exaggerating at least half the size of every other take-away) you pay at least £2 more for each dish than you would anywhere else. AND the quality is shockingly poor. I ordered food about £50 for 2 people assuming we would have seconds, maybe thirds the next day. There was barely enough for a portion each, and we've had to eat a second time tonight, and both meals were terrible quality, undercooked dumplings, over cooked squid, wrong tasting thai curries with cucumber? Almost 0 veg, there were only 4 prawn toasts in a portion, and it had little to no flavour. ... Neither of us will eat a huge meal, and saying there was barely enough for two portions in £50 worth of food from a takeaway is saying a lot. I'm never buying from here again, I have no idea why it's 4.7 stars!

Delicious food and great service here. All the usual choices you would expect to find at any excellent Indian restaurant but the difference at Everest Dine is the opportunity to try genuine authentic Nepalese dishes, beautifully cooked and presented. We enjoyed a fantastic meal and look forward to our next visit to this lovely restaurant.
