The Whitehouse Inn in Ards

We came here today off the back of these reviews. We did not book and they managed to get us in on a very busy day. The staff were very friendly. We ordered 2 smash burgers with sweet potato fries and a side of onion ring with 2 pints of coke. The waitress came back over and double checked our order. Sent arrived the plates are hot, the sweet potato fries were amazing. We the waitress checked if we needed anything else and I asked for some mayo. There was vinegar, tartare sauce brown and red sauce on the table. They brought me some over and I started to eat my burger to find we have been given the Burger and bird - this is £3 more a burger. We didn’t complain as they were busy and we were hungry. The burger was not a smash burger but a frozen burger and the chicken was dry. We declined dessert and got the bill. I was shocked! £4 for a pint of coke ( Nearly as much as as a pint of beer) but the final nail in the coffin was I was charged £1.50 for a portion of mayo. I can buy a whole jar for that and no one told me it would be extra! Good start to total fail. Won’t be coming back - I think the mayo did it

First visit for dinner at the Whitehouse Inn and LOVED everything. We’d Crab claws, Scallops & Brie for starters, looked so good we didn’t stop for photos. Mains Seabass in white wine & prawn sauce, Surf & turf, a huge Sirloin steak with a full portion of Portavogie garlic prawns on top plus the chips, mushroom, tomato, onion rings & peppered sauce both where exceptional 😋 Followed with delicious deserts. Highly recommend this restaurant to all

Unreal food with great staff, you wont find better value for such great food and service anywhere. Fantastic menu with great selections and choice for all. can not recommend this place enough to try

Called in for dinner with family. Absolutely fantastic food and staff are always great. Brilliant spot for families with kids. Prices are very reasonable for the level of food provided.

Last minute wee trip out for lunch/dinner before the new arrival! 3 courses served to perfection and promptly! I had honey chilli chicken, a steak and apple crumble and it was absolutely lovely. My partner had scallops, steak and profiteroles! Lovely atmosphere and great service will definitely be back in near future

Have eaten here on numerous occasions over the years,but this is the first time since the new chef has been there. Absolutely outstanding food can not recommend this place and the food enough. Great place with a great atmosphere, great people and a great setting. If you love good food give this place a go. You will not be disappointed. 10 🌟

Nice to see how much work and effort been put into the refurbishment of the building. The caravan site beside really has great benefits with a bar , golf course, and sea sports . This is also Great we spot for a breakfast brunch or even early dinner open to the residents\ tourers and the public that stop by while out sight seeing Very clean and staff are extremely helpful and always as always smiling .

Absolutely enjoyed the surroundings whilst enjoying our meals al fresco. Helpful and friendly service from knowledgeable staff on the surrounding sights. The Guinness is a must,probably the best in Northern Ireland.

Came across this restaurant whilst out driving around the coast on a sunny day. Only had a pot of tea for 2 on that day. Noticed the food that was being served looked very appetising so decided to go back on another day to have Sunday lunch I have to say, we were not at all disappointed, the food was delicious The staff were very friendly. 5* restaurant it is not but some 5* restaurants don't deserve their ratings. Give this place a visit and you will not be disappointed. They are open every weekend for food.

terrible place. smeels of damp and the owner is a misery! shut the bar while i was standing in the cue!
