Cloud 9 is a superb dining cafe on Newtownards Airfield in County Down. Their menu is excellent and they have a great specials board everyday. The all their staff are excellent, I usually get great service from wee smiler, Kirstyn. I highly recommend this cafe to all if your visiting Newtownards.

Took my little girl to the bathroom and saw a member of wait staff use the bathroom and leave without washing her hands. Food was fine but I am now concerned about hygiene standards.

I have been to Cloud 9 many times of the last few years and have always had the nicest food here! Such a good range of choices on the menu and the staff are amazing. All the girls are so lovely and chatting and nothing is ever too much hassle for them, especially as I am a fussy eater. Would highly recommend coming here, having the amazing menu and the great view of the planes and helicopters!

First time there. Lovely breakfast(pancake stack). Pancakes made in their kitchen. Everything piping hot. Staff lovely.

Lovely lunch and spot for our catch up. The girls were brilliant with our 2 young children. Would definitely come again.

Went on saturday with my wife just for a coffee . Coffee was lovely, tray bakes were lovely , staff were friendly , the place was spotless . The bill for two coffees and two traybakes came to £9.40 , where else would you get it . Worth the drive over from bangor

Called in Saturday afternoon for a coffee and my wife ordered a bun , the wee waitress instead brought two buns . The coffee and buns were lovely , when we went too pay the waitress , they hadn't charged for the second bun , when I pointed this out the girl didn't want too charge me but I made her take the money . The total bill for two buns and two coffees was £9.40 , tell me where in the whole off north down you would get value like that . The restaurant was spotless and the staff were lovely ,I've read some off the bad reviews and come too the conclusion these people were professional whiners or they were lost an though they were somewhere else . I seen some off the food other people were getting and it looked delicious .

The service was very good, but food not so much. Ordered fries with chicken, the fries were very hard to bite and tasted like fish. That meal wasnt too bad, the cloud nine burger was worse. The meat had a weird taste, and tasted like it was quite old, wasnt able to finish the meal. The restaurant itself is very nice, but not the food itself. Too expensive comparing the quality of the food, wouldnt recommend to eat here.

This was our first visit and we enjoyed it. We had the fry which was good but I would love it if it could be served on a larger plate rather than everything piled on top of each other on a small plate. This is only a constructive suggestion as the fry was lovely as was the service and the setting!

Lovely for any pilots out there. You can fly in and get a snack. You can also get plane fuel. Great to visit generally as it's a lovely café with a beautiful view. Prices good and staff nice. Definitely visit.

We can’t thank everyone enough at Cloud 9 Events for the service, the quality and variety of food delivered warm to the house and ready to eat. Our experience has totally changed how we will plan future parties. With Cloud 9 Events doing all the hard work, we were able to enjoy the day without shopping, cooking and cleaning up afterwards (besides plates in the dishwasher). It’s a compete game changer. One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had, my friend and I both orders prawn open, it was delicious and wonderful big prawns with beautiful salad. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable, honestly it’s such a long time from I left a restaurant feeling so well looked after. Beautiful food fantastic staff and brilliant location, what more could you ask for, looking forward to my next trip back already.

A nice setting with a variety of seating options both inside and out, lovely setup and nicely presented food. However, we wish the food had tasted as pleasant as it looked. Apart from the chips that is, which were so white we were surprised any of the waitresses, never mind a chef, looked at them and thought 'yep, they're done'. The texture confirmed they were indeed undercooked. Eggs also still had runny whites which while aren't to everyone's taste, wasn't the end of the world. Unfortunately once our food was set in front of us nobody came anywhere near us again so we just ate what we could. We were also not asked how things were when paying. Probably won't return and could only recommend for the seat and the views.

Frys ok but bacon is tasteless and sausage cheep.went back and ordered the beef burger,worst burget ive ever had ,had to senf it back,could not cut it even with a steak knife,looked like it had been cooked sometime earlery and microeaved to death,brot me a new one but this was worse vould not eat it

Called in for breakfast today and although service wise staff friendly and helpful alas let down by poor quality food and overly expensive. Had traditional fry £10.95 and only nice thing on the plate was sausages the rest poor quality and luke warm at best . My two guests each had an egg soda and were charged £9.95 each ! Adding one cup of tea, coffee and a glass of pure orange £41.95 total bill . Would not recommend.

The food was very nice and staff were very friendly and helpful. I would suggest that addition of specific sandwich choice could be added to breakfast menu , bacon or sausage with option of adding additional egg.

An amazing opportunity was having breakfast 😋 with airplanes and helicopters. But the kitchen is working until 15.00. Comfortable parking. Good atmosphere.

We were taken here by a friend today. My husband had an Ulster fry and I had a healthy breakfast. Both were excellent! The staff and service were also brilliant! If we lived near by this would be our go to place for brunch!

An excellent selection of breakfasts. Hubby had an Ulster fry and I had the healthy breakfast. Both were really good. If we lived locally this would be our go to place. Our grand children would love seeing the helicopters landing and taking off as an extra. All the staff were very friendly and service was great!

Impressive refurbishment. Always a great venue for breakfast offering excellent value for money, with quality food options and friendly service. Extensive onsite parking with great views of the airport across to Scrabo Tower.

Best airfield I have visited I enjoyed a bite to eat and then went out to have a look around the aircraft that were there (Cessna 15&172) and finished off the trip by watching a c172 doing touch and goes what a wonderful trip!

The view from here is exceptional but unfortunately was let down by the food

Dropped in today. Went for a quick walk beforehand. Shown to a table then order taken quite quickly. Tea was delivered quickly then food soon followed. Dirty Christmas fries. Do like loads of gravy and this sure had it. Have to say overall very tasty.

The food was very good, as was the service. We didn't have to wait long for our food after ordering. The food was warm and well cooked, and the coffee was good. I've been to three flying club restaurants in the UK, and this was by far the best of them.

It's been a while since we had lunch here and on a dull day after Christmas we felt the need for something cheerful. We chose a brunch plate of cheesy fritters with bacon pieces topped with a poached egg, and declared it very tasty. On a Friday the place was full and the service quick and pleasant.

Went this morning with a friend for a fry and coffee Disappointed in the fry for £9.50 The service was ok but was greeted with have you booked not good morning how can I help I have worked in the retail myself ?? But we got a table the food was not great for the cost of 9.50 each and the filtered coffee was not topped up so am sorry I won’t be back at this cloud 9 It would seem if your a regular your ok as your tables are booked but you just can’t call in Many thanks ☹️☹️

Beautiful meal, great service, but brought the dogs with us and sat in the tent. It was a very cold experience. No complaints, only an observation for better weather.
