New owners have now taken over so we thought we would try out for Sunday lunch. Service was good. I had pate for a starter which was great. My husband had the potato skins which were tasty and not very hot. Would have benefited from going under the grill for a few minutes to ensure all cheese was melted and they were hot. My roast beef was tender and tasty , vegetables cooked perfectly. However no roast potatoes and peas looked like they had been thrown into the plate. Also too much gravy and would have benefited from being served separately in a gravy boat. My husband had roast gammon however one slice of gammon was not cooked through, sticky toffee pudding was lovely. Not bad for the new owners but a few tweaks needed to improve to meet the standard of the previous owners.

We called in at lunchtime but they were only serving bar food so we didn’t eat. Place was clean and began to fill before we left. Service was friendly but the music was a bit loud.

Instead of my usual chicken souvlaki, which is delicious, I had the pork belly. It was the best meal I’ve had for years, and most of the really good meals have been at the Whitestone. Beautifully presented, very tasty, perfectly balanced, plus crispy and eminently edible gorgeous puffs of crackling. 10/10.

Shocking! Had a bad experience 3 years ago but thought I’d try it again with the grandkids. Had a mixed grill and it’s got to be the worse I’ve ever had!! Completely bland meat, no flavour whatsoever. I told the staff who spoke to the manager and his reply was “i will speak to the butchers” hahahaha, I must laugh..what a reply, and shocking customer service!! To be honest the meat even looked bland. Never again!!

An amazing local business. Hats off to the chefs in the kitchen, couldn’t fault the food what so ever, you could tell the food was freshly made. I didn’t mind the wait as the food was delicious. Great job guys.

The waitresses were very attentive and friendly. The wait for food was a little longer than I was expecting, but that could be due to the food being freshly cooked. Be patient , the food is worth it! Both our meals were very tasty. Highly recommended, well worth a visit.

The food was outstanding couldn’t fault it however the service leaves a lot to be desired . We where constantly addressed as Guys we where in a restaurant not a fast food establishment sir or madam would be far more appropriate. The courses came out with a nice break between but not once where we ever asked if we required more drinks I had to ask every time. Once the main course dishes where removed we where asked if we’d like to see a dessert menu we replied yes please. Another waitress promptly brought us the bill asking did we want to pay now. We said no was awaiting the desert menu. Found the experience a bit strange had three different waitresses serving us non of which were really attentive to our needs. Overhaul food was great service very poor room for improvement didn’t make feel like tipping front of house letting the chefs down

Food good Not enough staff on as the service was very slow, and the poor guy behind the bar was trying to do everything ! Although they have painted the ladies toilets the locks on the doors still haven’t been replaced ! Coffee isn’t nice … bitter… and never hot enough!

I came here for dinner with friends, the mushroom starter with focaccia was pleasant but the bread was over baked! We waited quite a long time for this to come out so was a bit disappointing! The other starters were ok but overpriced! We waited a very long time for the mains to come, overall it was ok, fish cakes didn’t really taste of anything! Have I got covid? I wouldn’t rush back which is a shame because it’s in walking distance and could quite possibly use this venue frequently

Sticky tables, sticky cutlery. For the price they charge for fish and chips you'd think you'd get fresh chips but no, frozen rubbish instead. The batter on the fish was pale and weird. Over priced for the poor quality food they serve.

My starter ( chicken tenders with BBQ sauce ) was great so a good start. For main I ordered cajun salmon ceasar salad. The cajun seasoning was overpowering ( my husband had the same but his was fine) The croutons on both were greasy and soft. For dessert I ordered the salted chocolate tart which was very chocolatey and rich but a bit too salty in my opinion. Hubby had the black forest Sundae which he said was lovely shame it was served with a dessert spoon which couldnt quite get into the bottom of the sundae glass. Would I visit again - of course as I like to aupport local businesses but I would change my choices.

First time eating at the whitestone pub and we couldn't be happier with the excellent food and service by staff by far the best pub meal we both have had in such a long prices are reasonable and food top notch we would definitely recommend this place my husband had steak medium rare and said it literally just feel apart when cutting in to it I had the posh tikka massal and wow it didn't disappoint we will definitely be going back but also a massive well done to the staff as nothing was to much trouble oh and BTW the desserts are just as amazing thank you.

Visited 14/05/2023, for Sunday Lunch (12 of us) Was absolutely lovely, well cooked (all home cooked feel) , hot, good value (3 courses for £18.95), good, prompt service from all staff. Will definitely be back.

Only called in for a drink but again had to ask for a clean glass. This is basic hygiene. The rest of our party just had bottles because of previous visits.

Came here for a dinner on Friday night. despite the pub being very busy the restaurant was quiet. Both food and drinks came quickly though. There were a few well behaved dogs in the bar area and it’s great to have somewhere dog friendly to go to! The food selection was good, we had starters and mains and both were tasty. You could tell it had been made from scratch. The service was a little lack lustre. The team seem very young and they do a good job in itself but lack the conversational/rapport building skills to make the experience feel more personable. All in all we had a great time and will be back.

The menu is very reasonable we had Sunday lunch menu and the food was nice. It is somewhere I would eat again. I saw a review complaining about glasses, I agree they don't look clean but maybe just old and been through the dishwasher too many times. The cutlery is shabby as well and I was concerned the place mats are a place for bacteria so maybe they should be reconsidered and use ones that can be cleaned properly. Overall though despite this I have no complaints on food it was lovely and appeared fresh so would recommend.

Just called in for a drink , every time we come here we have to ask for clean glasses, the staff just did it but didn't apologise or even look at them. It puts us off eating here. Next time we'll have bottled beer

booked a table for 7.00pm, which wasn’t ready for us,advised to wait. After 10 mins table still not ready, then they moved tables around to cater for table of 8!! The pub is a hidden gem in Nuneaton. There is a good selection of high quality food and reasonable drinks. Service was friendly. We will definitely visit again.

Nice selection of beer and the food is nice however it is like being in a youth club. It is noisy, full of drunken kids. Such a shame for a pub that is located on an estate with families. Definitely going down hill.

Sat in garden as not allowed inside due to restrictions. Drinks were good and garden gets the sun all day. Staff were attentive and friendly. Heard the food is good to.

Good local pub. Good sized beer garden. Food is always good. Beer well kept. Worth going to just for the food.

Both my husband and I just popped by for a drink on our way back from work. The beer garden was extremely busy, considering we’d have a global pandemic, both my husband and I felt very unsafe outdoors. Not to mention the young lads, shouting and swearing. We won’t return.

At this difficult time with no restaurants open to eat inside, great to see that the Whitestone is providing a collection and delivery service. We ordered 3 burgers for collection yesterday and we were so pleased. Meals were ready for the ordered time and the burgers were packed in cardboard boxes in brown paper carrier bags, so good to see that the packaging can be recycled. The burgers were so well presented and tasty and just as good as what you get when you eat in the restaurant. Freshly cooked and very tasty. Well done and highly recommended.

We came here on Sat 7th March, 30 people, for a meal, all meals were served on time, steaks were very good, we had a great night, staff were very nice. Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed

We have been several times to steak night on Thursdays without any problems however our recent visit was way below par. Our steaks were undercooked. We could have returned them but weren’t uneatable as they were so decided not to. The problem was the quality. They were extremely tough. This establishment used to advertise their meat as supplied by excellent local butcher Frank Parker. I don’t know if he still supplies them but I have never had meat that quality from Parker’s in over 40 years. I could have asked him - Mr Parker himself was dining the night we visited. Wouldn’t interrupt him on his night out. £10 for a steak is obviously cheap but I’d rather have paid the usual price of £15 if it meant better quality.

Love this establishment. Friendly staff, great food drinks very nice. Excellent parking facilities. Nice location as well.

Booked for 5 of us to turn grandaughter and daughter in law had fish and chipsup for my birthday. No carvery - which was a welcome change. from most other Sunday pub lunches. I has a turkey dinner, my daughter had beef, grandaughter and daughter in law had fish and chips (can't remember what my son had - it's old age I guess !) Everything was nicely presented, hot and delicious. Staff were great. Beer was good.All in all a lovely Sunday out.

Contacted last minute and they were able to get us a table. Arrived and from that moment the staff were attentive, positive and friendly.The food was excellent, we had starters (large portions and tasty). The main meals we had from fish to meat to pizza. All were excellent and if anything too big portions. Its our local and we had stayed away for a while as hadn't like the direction the pub had gone in, but will now be back soon as everything was excellent. Thank you.

They didn't have the wine we ordered, they didn't have any sparkling water, the table was rocky and shiny ans on a slant so much that wine glasses were on the point of self propelling on to the floor.they changed the table fora STICKY one--no table mats or cloths available!The starters were well presented and nice, my steak came perched on an enormous pile of chips so I could get purchase to cut it--and boy did it need come cutting--- I left it We could not recommend this establishment

We attended an evening wedding reception here. Everything was perfect. The food was superb from start to finish and the service was exceptional. Can thoroughly recommend this place and will definitely be returning. Well done to all concerned, making this a perfect evening.

Came here with a group of friends before Christmas as we have been in the past and found the food previously very good. Unfortunately from the start we were disappointed. Table was incredibly sticky. Asked the waitress if she could wipe the table. She did however her attitude was appalling.We were not given the festive menu. The starters were nice, I had the taco which was very tasty. The mains were not good. Burger was greasy, Chicken was dry, and the ribs had griskle and was dry too.Dessert wasn't much better. Baileys bread and butter pudding with custard was tasteless. The chocolate custard was gloopy, lumpy and tasteless. Overall, the service should be more welcoming and polite. The menu choice was poor and the quality of food was not up to standard. Unfortunately I do not think we will be coming back until it improves, a shame as in the past it was very good.

Visited our local restaurant 3 times. We were so pleased to find it was steak night on one visit. Such excellent value and great steaks. I ordered a rump steak medium rare but unfortunately the server wrote down medium well. Well as you can imagine this was way to overcooked for me. However they replaced the steak and when the replacement arrived it was perfectly cooked. Service was good and all meals were good. Mixed grill so much meat. Visited another time for a birthday party and hot food was served. The curry was so tasty and lasagne was great. The last time we visited I chose the chicken stuffed with sausage. It was ok but would not choose again. The panne cotta was nice but a very small portion. The meals the rest of the party chose were all very nice. Service was excellent on all 3 occasions. Lovely atmosphere.

Came for lunch 12 people, table booked for 12.30 got food at 2.30!! People arrived after us but were served before us. Nearly all the food was poor, and the Belgium chocolate waffle was served with no chocolate until we asked!!! The waitress needs training in people skills as her attitude was terrible, we asked for coffee which never arrived. What is going on? We understand maybe it was a one off but that is not the point. A Xmas party ruined.

This is S pub that I have visited several times with both family and friends, tonight would end up being the last time. On arrival and being given the in inspiring menu I questioned when it had changed and was Todd a few weeks ago. The difference in what the used to serve and the present menu are chalk and cheese, 4 meal and problems with 2 of them. Such a shame and so disappointed.

Mid week lunch. Seem to have sorted themselves out since last visit just after the current owners took over. If you want a great value limited lunch menu this one should hit the spot. Great prices with sensible portion sizes. Wider menu was also available which offers larger portion sizes and wider choice of food. Friendly service with reasonable wait for food.

I have been here on numerous occasions now and every time the food is better than the last. I have absolutely no complaints. The scotch eggs are eggcellent! Sausage rolls, amazing! The best food I’ve ever tasted!

I met my daughter and her friends here for a baby shower afternoon tea party. All of the food was absolutely delicious. The scotch eggs were still warm, sausage rolls scrumptious, as were the finger sandwiches. But the cakes, again homemade were absolutely wonderful. The whole experience was a true delight

Visited my local restaurant again with friends. Such a welcoming atmosphere. We are so lucky to live near to this restaurant . Order taken quickly. Meal was lovely and very tasty. Three of us had the chicken which was delicious. Nice to be outside on a warm evening and enjoy a drink both before and after the meal. Love the outdoor tables so comfortable and relaxing. Will of course be back again.

Whitestone are now doing lunches in the week at very reasonable prices and the food is up to usual high standard. Two mains for £8 or 2 courses for 2 people £10. Unfortunately it is not advertised clearly at the pub but is on Facebook, so I'm told. A lot of us at my age don't do FB.

First visit to The Whitestone. Well worth it. Dining room was empty on our arrival- but it was quite early (just before 1 pm). But soon more diners arrived. A nice choice on the lunchtime menu and the prices were very reasonable. Would go again if only because of the quality of the fod, the price and the excellent service.

A spacious quality pub serving quality food. I visited The Whitestone on my birthday with family on Sunday. They offer a traditional range of foods at down to earth prices in a 1, 2 or 3 course guise.

Superb Service. Brilliant Food served piping hot in 5 minutes from ordering. Dog Friendly (In the Conservatory) 1st visit with this management but will certainly not be our last. Nice clean surroundings and overall a really pleasant experience.

Due to the torrential weather last weekend, we had 24 hours to find an alternative venue for a small family party.

One of the best places to go in Nuneaton for food!! If I ever fancy going out for food this is the first place I think off as never been let down! Beer is also perfect without a doubt! Also the monthly quiz which occurs the first Sunday of every month is also a really good laugh with some great prizes!

A group of six of us met here for dinner and I was pleasantly surprised. Having eaten here before and knowing the pub had changed owners I was interested to see what had happened to the quality of the food.

Took us quite while to find this pub as its in the middle of an estate in quite a small village. Food typical pub grub no mushroom available so asked for onion rings instead but no peas only? Beer OK lots of drinkers in watching ladies football so quite noisy but quieter where we were in conservatory where we could sit with dog.

The food was better at their previous location at The Nook. I do like the food here but it is hit & miss! On this occasion with my family of 6, we waited a long time to receive 3 overcooked battered fish & one lot of chips were burnt! As we had waited so long we didn’t complain.

Went for a drink at this pub with friends. What an awful experience young people rolling around on the floor, running around without shirts on, screaming and shouting obviously all had far to much to drink.

Went for lunch today as we fancied a sandwich. No sandwiches on the menus we were given. Waitress outlined what we could have so had 2 toasted ham cheese and tomato sandwiches and a baked potato. Took a long time for 3 simple dishes and an empty pub, the sandwiches were ham cheese and tomato between 2 slices of toast. The sandwiches and the potato were all just Luke warm. Overpriced for what we got.

We moored at the canal on our narrowboat, the two pubs closer to the canal do not allow dogs so we walked about a mile and half maybe to here. Worth the walk, very dog friendly, lovely garden area and conservatory. Staff friendly and quick, food was great and piping hot. I had the burger, brill. Two others had the mixed grill on the £10 Thursday offer, huge amount of meat. All very happy we had made the effort to find this place.

Came here for steak night, Tuesday and Thursday, it is good value, food is excellent, always busy which is a good sign, also it's dog friendly now, what's not to like.

Truly lovely food, all 4 meals and desserts were just spot on. It was our first visit but we'll definitely be back. Huge congratulations to the kitchen team the food tasted perfect and looked beautiful.

Came for drink with my wife but ended up going inside for a meal , as always the food was excellent, I had gammon which was excellent, my wife had the fish and chips, really pleased that now it's dog friendly outside and in the bar area, there are a lot of dog loving people around here who will be pleased too.

Went with my partner for a night out and chose The White Stone as it used to be my local as The Hayrick some time ago, and had heard the food was pretty good.

The staff were friendly and food okay, but expensive for what we got, and was not anything special. Been 3 times with different parties. Not sure I’d go again.

Hadn't been for a few years so thought we would try it.

Group of girls went for a birthday celebration. There was 15 of us. Some were driving so just ordered off the main menu. Most of us went for the offer, three courses with three choices of ever one plus as much prosecco as you want for two hours. This was £29.95pp The food was lovely the setting was great as we were in the conservatory area, and we had plenty of prosecco. So if your looking to do something different for your get together I would recommend this venue.

Went on a Thursday night, steak night. Rump steak for a tenner! Excellent value and steak. Good service, beer and wine! Busy as well. Colleague with me was well impressed. Keep it up!

Managed to get in at late notice and were surprised to see so many cars on the car park . Reason is clear - great value good food served in decent sized portions and they keep some good beers too . The steaks are Frank Parker’s and the rump is probably the best . They do a number of tasty sauces to go with the steaks too .

The food portions were generous and the presentation was nice but both the steak and burger meals came with normal fries instead of the advertised skin on fries.

Not very enjoyable - staff were miserable and the food was bland and standard. Not sure what’s happened to the place but I won’t be returning.

We ordered coke, cappuccino and a flat white there were only 7 people in the place 2 ground of house staff our hot drinks took over 10 mins to arrive not impress with service

Can see why this place seems always to be fully booked up. Run by two chefs rather than two publicans trying to be chefs!

My wife, daughter and I visited this establishment in February. We were up from Dorset visiting relative at the local hospital. Looked up trip advisor and decided to give this place a try. Thursday night was steak night. Arrived with no booking to be told we would need to eat in the bar as no tables available without booking. Usually a good sign. Staff were pleasant and we ordered at the bar. Wife had Mixed grill for £10. Huge portions on a large plate, fantastic value and lovely food. I had the Fillet Steak 14oz huge and cooked to perfection for £20. Daughter had large Pizza and it wage huge! Tasted absolutely gorgeous. We will definitely be visiting this place again when we are in the area. Great local cooked food at great prices in nice friendly atmosphere.

We live nearby, and come often, this time on Saturday lunchtime, the food was very good, service quick and friendly, can be busy at weekends.

Visited this restaurant 3 times during December and January. The meal in December was a mixed bag. I had the rump of lamb which was lovely and 2 friends chose from the Christmas menu which they said was very good. However 2 member of our party had the jerk chicken which they did not like, they said it was more like sweet and sour rather than jerk chicken. The peanut dessert was also disliked. New Year’s Eve was good and food was tasty and hot. Strange combination with hot dishes and sandwiches and sausage rolls etc. The singer was dreadful. It would have been better organised if they had asked just a few tables at a time to go up to the Buffett. This is how it has been done in the past and avoids long queues for the food. The brunch the following day was excellent and a nice surprise and everything was cooked to order with so much choice. Had Sunday lunch recently which was excellent. Good selection on menu and even some specials which was a nice surprise. The roast lunches were excellent, beef was tender and tasty. Staff are very good here and very attentive.

We booked the restaurant for a baby shower of 30 people in November. The staff helped set up the room exactly how we wanted it and the service was fab. The room was lovely, food served quick and quality of the food was very good.

Stopped for a bit to eat while out delivering the grandkids xmas pressies. Had a nice pint of Wychwood's Bah Humbug on draft. Ordered the house burger, very nice. Great chips & slaw. Service was excellent, price good to. Fancied a sweet treat & looked at the dessert menu. All home made & a bit different. Went for the chocolate & peanut butter pudding with Guinness icecream, heavenly. Very recommended & will be back

Four friends and myself visited midweek for a Christmas lunch. The food was excellent. The waitress was very pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble. The pub was quiet with lovely Christmas music playing in the background. There were certainly no loud groups of men as a previous reviewer had said. The food is very reasonably priced and definitely worth a visit.

Booked a group meal for 7 of us for our annual Xmas bash and it was excellent. Good choice of real ales which was a great start . All the food was first class . Cheesecake starter - a savoury speciality and delicious. Main courses were faultless- particularly the steaks . The onion rings as a side will serve 3 ! This place deserves to thrive . We will return soon .

Visited this restaurant yet again with friends. Food was good and nice and hot. Menu could do with changing as it has been the same for a few months. However I do know a new menu is being launched within the coming weeks. Have seen the menu but it does not have a chicken dish which is very unusual. We did have to wait a long time for our main meal which was unusual. Wish the pancetta chicken could be on the menu that the previous owners had. This was so popular and I really loved it.

Came in one lunch time from a recommendation we had a sandwich off the lunch menu. It was fantastic massive portions and great value for money. We was welcomed by a young lady I think I her name was daniella she offered great service and made us feel very welcome & comfortable. Would highly recommend. Must come in to try the evening menu!

Lovely afternoon with friends, meal was great, our hostess was Danielle...she was lovely...very polite, kept filling out glasses with prosseco. Had a fab time...fully recommend
