Limited real ales, but that's Just a personal preference. Mostly lagers. Decent pub, nice little beer garden

We weren't sure if the pub is dog friendly - asked at the bar if we can come in just to have big water bowl and lots of dog treats brought to us 2 minutes later and encouragement to go in inside . Definitely 100% dog friendly , we will be coming more often now for a break with a pint on our walks. Our lab says thank you 😊

Overall this is a wonderful feel good pub. Staff lovely, beers good and place spotless but still welcoming. Very pleasant and helpful regulars. My only minor complaint is that the drinks are a tad pricey but excellent choices.

Started coming here 7 months ago when my daughter and her partner moved to Upholland. We often go for the excellent quiz on a Thursday. It’s a great pub. The service is fab. Spotlessly clean as well.

Fantastic local, great quiz every Thursday, love going in, always seems busy, believe it’s been recently refurbished too, can’t quite put my finger on it but the feeling of a proper pub!

Fantastic atmosphere and staff.

Visited last night, went in to watch the singer who was excellent. As per an earlier review, drinks way too expensive! Last orders bell rang at 11.15pm and told we needed to be out for 12pm latest. Probably won't return🤔

Nicely furnished pub but bar staff look totally disinterested and unwelcoming. Not even a “thank you”. The Brit has much more friendly and welcoming staff.

Really enjoy this pub. Went along to take part in Quiz night which is every Thursday and have to say that Richard does the place proud as he keeps things interesting with his wit. Also discovered he's a good entertainer as he also appeared on Sunday playing a guitar and singing. Staff are very friendly and helpful and like I said, quiz night is so much fun!

Lovely pub decor wise, but the drinks are way too expensive. Sorry would like to be able to visit more often but need a second mortgage for a night out. Plus don't do bottles or cans of coke.

Recently been renovated and well worth a visit great atmosphere good choice of beers , wine , and cider my favourite at present and has live music on se time inside and out in summer with a lovely atmosphere

Having not visited The White Lion for decades we were invited to a christening reception recently. The pub has been extensively refurbished throughout to a high standard. Drinks are good, and the staff are also welcoming and helpful. Limited car parking is available at one side of the pub, and a small public car park is on the other side.

Great pub lovely standard of furnishings top quality beers and wines . The landlady Amanda was amazing nothing too much trouble for her and very professional. As was the girl behind the bar Beth . Thanks to all of them for looking after our party . Definitely going back 5 star pub.

First time visit. Only a few customers (think local) was made to feel very welcome by bar staff and locals. Recommended for a nice quiet drink here

Went in to use the toilet and instead of asking behind the bar due to the locals huddled round blocking the way to the bar i proceeded to the toilet, came out to be greeted by a woman asking what she could get me, told her i just needed the toilet but id have a pint of coke, was told no and that i should of asked first, i was going to ask if it wasnt for the blockage to the bar. 'Your local' on the side of the pub, cant even go to the toilet. Absolute joke and pretty sad to be quite honest.

I’ve lived local ypto this pub for twenty years but only been in twice, not for food just drinks following a funeral. The staff were nice and the drinks weren’t overpriced. I

Can't play darts on Friday or Saturday night even they leave the darts out for you to play

Really liked our visit. We were only supposed to stay for an hour or so, but it was so accommodating that we forgot the time! I don't know anything about rugby, but watched a whole game very happily! Would recommend, and will be visiting again.
