Brilliant food and service, come here often and love it, steak is always cooked to perfection and drinks are top notch! Will be returning.

Excellent venue, pub is lovely warm and welcoming. Staff are lovely Cath and Vicky on today and really looked after us. Food was lush.. would highly recommend a visit

Lovely refurbished pub, friendly staff. Will always come here for meals but today we tried the breakfast. Was lush and really hope they continue with the early opening and breakfasts.

Love the refurbishment it's so much bigger and the food is amazing. The manager is very friendly she makes you feel like your a valued customer. Love it will definitely be back.

I was on a very rare night out with my long serving wife(of 36 years). We strolled down for an evening meal having recently moved to a new house, nearby. The night started off poorly, as my wife drinks Tia Maria and Baileys. They were out of Tia Maria and had a half measure left of Baileys. My wife ended up with a Tia Maria substitute, not ideal. We left a credit card setting up a tab. My wife ordered Steak and Chicken combo but despite leaving a card , my wife asked for some barbecue sauce and after being told that it was £1.49 the waiter I believe waited for my wife to get out her purse, then dashed to put it on our bill and then had to be asked for the sauce. I had a double burger and whilst the food was ok, it could have been better. The steak could have had 5 more minutes to cook through. All in all the visit was very disjointed and if I was honest I cannot see us rushing back there despite it being our new local!

Heard that the white horse had been refurbished so we thought that we would give it another go (went a few years back and was awful). The refurb looks fantastic plenty of seat and a good atmosphere. However the food was very disappointing. I had the sausage and mash, the mash was served cold and very very peppery, the gravy was also cold and it was SFC gravy, I just don't understand why with sausage, but that is personal preference. My husband ordered the mega mixed grill which was just basically meat and chips, no veg or salad and he said it was very bland and tasteless. He asked for a medium steak and it was well done ( another table we were sat near also said the same about their steak). Overall we were very disappointed with the food and we won't be returning

We were down in Darlington to visit friends and stayed in the hotel next door so went for dinner and drinks and breakfast at the white horse and boy meals where amazing and the staff were great and very knowledgeable

Quickly called for a late booking - manager on the phone quickly reserved a table for us and when we came in half hour later he showed us to our table. Glad we called to book as was busy. Quickly ordered our meals at the bar with him, food came and was lovely. Great service and great food

Very good food for the price. We have the 2 meals for £11. Me and my partner both had the Fish and chips which was cooked to perfection. The chips were lovely I had peas my partner had beans (free swap for peas) I like the fact almost all changes are free for the chips or peas, the restaurant area of the pub is very clean and well managed. I generally like to see if I can see anything dirty on tables or cutlery but here you will not get this. The server was friendly and efficient, very welcoming I have been a few times and all times service was brilliant (even when super busy) I would like to thank you for an outstanding meal and service and we will be back again

Came in for a quick pint after work and ended up staying for food too after seeing the food coming out of the kitchen. Had a steak and chicken combo and was canny. Will be back

Another great evening. Here with friends, food was great, drinks are good. Sarah was very friendly and welcoming. Love this place and all the staff, only down side is now closing early on a Sunday, so not coming in on a Sunday now.

Have enjoyed many main meals and drinks here over many years. The last three evening meals experienced here have been very poor. Sizzling fajitas, undercooked, cold and returned to kitchen. 5 oz steak that I often order, 2 inches long and barely edible. Tonight ordered mixed grill, hubby ordered medium 8 oz steak, both meals were cremated. Both skillets burnt food present, food tasted burnt. Onions two rings of fried onions burnt, onion rings barely seen an oven, gammon, chicken and steak burnt, mushrooms unregognisable, sausage see photo. Persevered as no staff attended table as usual to see how meal was, eventually left some of meal. Very disappointing as bought drinks and wine to go with meal and evening spoilt. Addressed issue with staff member when she collected plates and manager issued refund. Would you let this go out of your kitchen. Very disappointed, with response although manager apologised, felt very let down. I

Visited the white horse for lunch had hunters chicken and fish and chips both were lovely. Staff and manager are very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.

Fantastic family get together for lunch on Sunday the food was loverly we had the Xmas menu the food for hot and served 22 of us fast the only thing I would say who ever thinks the menu up why can’t we have a traditional Turkey lunch in stead we get turkey on a stick with a ball of stuffing on the end with a sausage very tasty but try explaining to a 90 year old what this is !!!some times carved turkey is best with sprouts ! Excellent service, was served by a woman called Sarah who was very professional, she was polite when i came to the bar to take my order and she proceeded to enquire about allergies and update us on what food was and wasn’t available. food came very fast and was exactly what we paid for. I hope all people who come to visit get to experience the wonderful customer service me and my friends got to enjoy :)

We Walked through the doors and was greeted by lovely staff and especially a lovely young women called Sarah. A great atmosphere! Ordered our food with ease and was surprised by how quick our drinks followed, in moderate time our food arrived and we were not disappointed, chicken was juicy and full of flavour. The portions were great aswell, definitely left with a full stomach, overall the service was amazing and would definitely visit this spot again

I love salad and often order them when out. Today I had the salad bowl with quinoa adding a 5oz steak. As usual I request dressing on side. The pineapple and ginger dressing was the best I have ever tasted! The salad was fresh, well presented and plentiful. The steak was exactly as ordered. Staff were friendly and polite. Highly recommended coming here and I'll be having the salad bowl again!

Horrible food and limited choice of ales. I was given a glass of wine with lipstick on it, I didn't receive an apology when I returned it and the wine was just poured into another glass. Don't bother going there, there are nicer pubs and restaurants in the area.

In fact, the food was terrible. A party of three, with different meals and all completely awful. I thought I would be safe with a plain, jacket potato - I was wrong. The nachos my daughter ordered were 'unusual' which led to my daughter being quite ill overnight and my husband (who can eat anything) left most of his burger, which has never happened in all the years we've been married. I won't be returning to The White Horse, not even if I were paid to do so.

The food is always incredibly tasty and there is a great choice to suit a variety of dietary restrictions (I highly recommend the sizzlers bbq hunters chicken, it is a constant joke with my family how I will always choose it, it’s absolutely delicious!) The staff are super friendly and helpful, and you are never waiting long for your food. This is our go to place for a meal out, as we all love it, highly recommend!

Visited here for fathers day treat, had a lovely lunch with my family in a relaxed atmosphere. Lovely attentive and friendly staff especially Sonya and Donna. Would definitely recommend and revisit. Even brought some Vanilla and Caramel Cheesecake home for the mother in law.
