The White Hart in Rochford

I visit Gt Wakering from time to time and always make sure we visit a REAL Pub, as the The WH is. Totally different from the pretend pubs we have in West London now. Proper Friendly Landlord and staff, with good food, tasty and a decent price, also always a great atmosphere. Popular garden and Bbq area. I wish we still had pubs like this in W London. !! Keep it going and I'll be visiting again soon. Cheers. P.

Service is exceptional, money well spent. Just a great traditional family pub and restaurant, cannot recommend highly enough. Parking is great. Prices are great. GREAT

Great traditional village pub, very comfortable armchairs and garden when it's hot. Great atmosphere.

Spent a very pleasant evening with a friend. Listened to some nice music which was not too loud so we could still talk to each other without having to yell at each other

Was on a walk and stopped off for a quick beer. Welcoming pub with plenty of room. (Old building so mind your head) Didn't stop to eat, but a good selection on drinks 😁

Well stocked bar great staff 👏 with a bar you can actually stand at. Great Sunday roast, live sport shown on screens around the pub, an absolute Gem 💎 of a pub.....

Fantastic Sunday roast for Mother’s Day, catered for gluten free aswell for my daughter .. lovely food and plenty of it all home cooked .. also received chocolate and a mini bottle of Prosecco as a Mother’s Day treat .. thank you ! Highly recommend.

We had an absolutely first class Sunday lunch here. The staff were really attentive, especially Becky who was brilliant, and the food was delicious. We will definitely come again and I would 100% recommend it to others.

Lovely place for a few drinks when we return from dog walking.

My first visit last night for a friend's leaving drinks and fell in love with this traditional pub, wish it was my local. Great atmosphere, owner Steve and his staff were amazing and nothing was too much for them. All the locals were so friendly and welcoming. There is nothing like a traditional old English pub, and this is definitely one of the best I have visited, my little pup gives it 5 woof stars too.

First time there exlent old pub takes you back to how the pubs used to be very welcoming even the customers sees nice as we have booked a table for 2 some customer offered us a seat which is really nice ordered the drinks and then in the restaurant we ordered our food Sunday roast and I must admit it's was really nice I liked the gravy boat you can pour as much as you like I have ordered the pork and it came with some crackling which was so tasty it came with home made Apple sauce delicious .... finished it with home made lemon cheesecake lovely ... including the drinks the bill was almost 50 pounds ....3 pounds tip a voilà... will be back...

Last traditional pub in Wakering, let's hope it stays that way and doesn't go the way of the other two pubs.

Great ales, well kept. No CAMRA discount but fair prices, relaxed and welcoming.

I just popped in for a quick pint, so probably need another visit to be fair. I have to say while my beer was being pulled, your food being served looked very very tasty 😋 On my next visit to Wakering, I better call in, maybe stay longer and sample your very good looking food. Sorry for my score, my first visit to your establishment, I promise to do better next time 😊

Customers not challenged by staff for using very offensive language even when children were in the pub.

Visited the pub yesterday. Very pleasant beer garden. Friendly and attentive staff. Beer was great and the chips were the best I've ever tasted, and that's saying something!

Bit rough but great ale and well kept

As an outsider I felt even more cast aside. I'm sure people can be friendly but it wasn't to be when I visited. Shame as its a traditional pub with character. Staff I couldn't fault. Friendly and helpful. Worth a visit if your in the area

Just had Sunday roast lunch here which was excellent. Freshly cooked food and friendly helpful staff. Food & bar prices are very reasonable. We hope to return.

Was craving veg and this Sunday lunch ticked a big box. Really well cooked, served quickly in this quaint restaurant. A special "well done" to the young lady who single handed looks after the diners - you're great!

I like this little pub. It was busy when we went on Friday but we found a nice couple who let us share their table. The staff were friendly and a nice little choice of ales.

Good old fashioned English pub with reasonably priced drinks, and lots of good memories.

Preformed there with a friend for the beaujolais nouveau evening. What a great looking country pub and what a lovely bunch of people. We thoroughly enjoyed it all, so much so that the next morning we were pinching ourselves to make sure we hadn't dreamt it all. Thank you all for having us preforming a French evening. Cracking little pub. Friendly staff and landlord. Decent range of continually changing well-kept ale. They do have a large and friendly dog, which roams through the bar.

Serves great ales, with very good food. I had great bangers and mash and my friends had excellent burgers.

This place will always will be one of my favourite pubs in not just Wakering, but Southend-On-Sea. Since the new management has moved in, the quality of product and the friendliness of staff has really increased. With the introduction of a new restaurant menu and seating area, it really pushes the quality and general feel of the place up a few stars.

Went for lunch lovely little pub good food freshly made and very friendly owners and staff will be returning.

The new ownersite have turned this place around. The pump beer is as clear as a bell and the service is with a smile. All in all this pub is in a traditional setting and a delightful part of the village Rachel and Steve thank you for resurrecting The White Hart, I wish you all the luck in the world guys xxx

Saturday night 10pm and about 5 people in the whole pub, a rude man, whom I believe was the owner told me and my friends to get out as "we were all underage" we proceeded to show him our ID's and how we were in fact all 18. Rude treatment, grubby pub and really poor experience. Would not recommend.

Few choices, poor presentation and sweet was rock hard and inedible. The whole place looked jaded and grubby. Lovely waitress who was very apologetic. Not a place to revisit.

Welcoming traditional pub with very friendly staff, and good food.

An amazing pub, very traditional with an open fire and low wooden beams, although i caught my head on a few milk jugs hanging from those beams Ha, but i would highly recommend it to anyone!, great staff, a real mans pub!

Mid-week, 7.30 pm and not a single customer in the place. The pub was freezing cold, and a large angry-looking man stood behind the bar. We made our excuses, and left.

Really nice triditonal pub with frendly bar staff. Food is at a high quality and with plenty of choice on the menu. Looking forward to my next visit.
