Visited for birthday celebration meal. Very welcoming staff, food was great value for money. Beer well priced and staff couldn't have served us better. We were family of 7 with two children who were very well looked after by the staff. Would recommend as a great place to go for a meal. Big car park, big pub, plenty of tables but we did book ahead. We'll definitely be back. Pub and toilets were very clean.

Never been before, lovely place, met by a lovely lady on arrival, who took us to our seat, and explained how it all works, the carvery was absolutely lovely very fresh and hot, staff couldn't do enough for us, will definitely be back soon.

Food was fantastic, had 3 course festive menu. Food was great, tasty and very good value. Service wasn't the best, didn't seem to know how to serve food to patrons and didn't seem too bothered either. Place could do with a clean, tables were dirty and carpet needed a good hoover.

Came here for a Christmas carvery. We was a group of 12..service was great and they were very helpful and cheerful. Millie and Ella were great.will deffo be returning

I came to this restaurant for a last minute lunch with my mum. We had fabulous service from the moment we walked in. The staff all had smiles. Clair in particular was fantastic. She was there every step of our journey and happy to help ourselves and other. The food was nice and hot and plenty to choose from. Thank you!

Visited on Tue Dec 10th. Special thankyou to Sophie. This lovely young lady's service was 5 star. She was a true host to all. I have visited high end restaurants and experienced the same level of hosting as this lady provided. If hospitality is her direction, then this lady has a natural enjoyment in this provision and a very bright future, a true asset to the chain. A true asset to the restaurant/bar. The food really was lovely. Had priorily visited a fair while ago and food was below standard, so whoever you have cooking the food now, please keep them. Sophie made our parties day and the food ensured future visits.

Went for breakfast arrived 9am and was informed that food would be out by 9.30am. I appreciate this type of communication so we had a hot drink and caught up whilst waiting. I previously marked this restaurant down but after today's visit have rescored. There was plenty of food served and white bread for making toast. The chef came out an hour after we arrived and apologised to every table for the delay on food that morning. What a beautiful thing to do and she didn't have to. This made a massive difference to our visit that day. We don't mind waiting if we know but for her to explain that the morning hadnt gone to plan we got to see a human being owning that. Will definitely return and keep this chef!!!!! She is an asset to you.

Great place to eat, staff welcoming. Starters were hot and served quickly. Mains also arrived quickly one of our party choose carvery well cooked lots of meat, lots of choice for veg well cooked and hot. We will choose this carvery in future after bad experience in Parkgate same chain, it has old fashioned charm and staff understand about good customer service.

The team working (5pm) 20/11/24 were an excellent smiley and positive bunch which made our visit very enjoyable. Even went out their way to show our children the Christmas colouring competition. Top service and great food.

Visited in September. Ran out of carvery at 6 on a Saturday, staff were disinterested, food was just passable. No confusion, it was definitely The Wheatsheaf Inn in Saughall, Chester.

Couldn't get the voucher code to load the lady manager sorted it all for us. No beef on offer but the gamon and turkey for a change were not dry or fatty very very nice. Cauli/cheese was soft and non lumpy mash 100% better than our last visit 👏

Top carvery go early gets full. first time no pork on carvery yesterday a bit disappointed as my favourite.

Visited on Sunday and had a fantastic meal looked after by the lovely staff who do an amazing job. Manager very approachable and friendly too. Looking forward to our next visit.

Delicious hot breakfast, we were served quickly and the pub had a lovely atmosphere. Clare asked us if everything was OK. We said yes and the pub was clean and tidy during a busy breakfast period.

Absolutely amazing service all round

Just home after lunch time carvery. There was only 2 meats available, turkey and beef. The beef was un-eatable, it was tough and VERY stringy. We got our grandson some ice cream after and was charged £4.75 for 2 very small scoops. I have used this carvery for many years now but after THAT it's time to look elsewhere so won't be returning any time soon. Also, the chair fabrics are disgustingly filthy...

My husband and i went for a carvery on Sunday, showed to our table by the lovely meet and greet lady Lyndsey, staff our very friendly and extremely helpful, best carvery we have had, plentiful and everything was hot, roasties to die for really crispy. It was all made extra special as i received a voucher for a free meal as it was my birthday, all in all fab and couldn't recommend more highly.

Just had a fabulous afternoon here for a 50th birthday. The Carvery was absolutely delicious the staff and service was excellent they work so hard. Will be back tomorrow for tea. And next time we're over in this area we'll be here. Highly recommended 👌

Came in yesterday with my 4 children for the Halloween disco. The children really enjoyed all the party games and the staff had put so much effort into making it such a special night! Told NO fish NO gammon Left burger as not cooked was red inside Beef in carvery fatty and stringy When collecting dishes wasn’t asked how are meal was Bars ladies were nice Sorry won’t eat there again

6.30pm on a Wednesday evening in October... Paid for 2 carvery's, but should have looked at the food 1st. No gammon left other than 2 small scraps that was dry and dehydrated. 1 slice of beef that was full of fat and gristle. Roasties were fresh and crisp, red cabbage was bone-dry and looked (and tasted) awful, peas were dry and off colour. Worst of all were the carrots, which were off-coloured - lots being blackened and lots were green and looked mouldy. However, the gravy was lovely! Most of the 1 slice of beef was spat out. When the Waitress collected my plate, I made it clear that I wasn't happy in the slightest, but got no response. Truly awful and no wonder it was almost empty. Shameful food and service!!!

Went on Sunday was absolutely amazing lovely place and Claire is so lively and welcoming there was 8 of us and we all had an amazing time well done to all staff and management we will be back

Pizza's and a glass of wine for a lunchtime birthday celebration. This was a lovely little place for some lunch, food was top notch (only recommendation would be less tomato on the pizza base but this is probably a personal preference) price was really reasonable...half price pizzas on a Tuesday. Would definitely come again!
