What a great an amazing vibe. Great place, friendly bar staff, even more friendly customers. What a nice place for a drink or two, locals are so lucky!

Just called in to kill time on a wet afternoon, whilst car was being repaired. Newly refurbished, and pleasant interior. Only stayed for one drink, but will definitely go back! The lady behind the bar was very chatty and pleasant, and made us feel welcome.

The staff are great and friendly. The food and drinks are reasonably priced. The staff work hard and are a bit over stretched because there is a staff shortage. I assume because of the current economic climate . But on the whole they manage will. Will done Spoons.

This is my local pub and I have to say it’s the friendliest pub I’ve ever been to. The staff are so helpful and friendly and the landlady Ann Marie goes over and above to ensure her customers are well looked after and happy. We have great entertainment in a happy friendly atmosphere, what more could you possibly want from your local pub. Long may it continue

Where do I start? Absolutely disgusting behaviour from Ann Marie ( the landlady) tonight. Being told she has a duty of care and refused to serve me alcohol because on new years eve I unfortunately collapsed, ( not alcohol related) as my doctor told me, but she wasn't interested in me even explaining this. I just wonder where is her duty of care to a customer regularly has fits in the pub but still serves him alcohol??? Guess my face doesn't fit, not to worry theres more pubs in the area.

New manager and staff last year. Doing a great job. Good atmosphere with regular live music and events. Follow their page to find posts of when free food is being provided.... ie mobile chip shop, outside caterers providing hotpot, butter pie etc. Landlady and staff are very friendly and welcoming. Recommend this pub!

Appalling customer service chose this pub, after travelling from Brighton, for a family get together of 9 people in total, went to bar ordered drinks and asked if we could sit inside eating area, but was told did not have the room so we happily sat in the bar area, but before we even managed to finish our drinks was told by a rude young female member of staff we would have to move as the table we were sat at was booked for 2.30 (no reservation notice on table ?) I asked could we at least finish our drinks but her reply was no as it was booked and that the people were there so we had to go outside in the rain with 3 children as there was nowhere else in the pub for us to go totally spoilt the family reunion, first meeting together since our mother passed away last year i would avoid at all costs local people seemed to be only people that mattered , wouldn't even give it 1 star but wouldnt allow post unless 1 was selected

Lovely meal and nice staff. I had the steak which was cooked to perfection and husband had sausages which he really enjoyed. Portion was perfect as we didn't leave any and had room for a desert which was really nice too. Drinks were good and we will certainly go back when we are in the area.

We ordered some ‘gluten free’ pizzas here. 2 x pizzas. 2 x gluten free garlic breads and 1 x gf pasta. It was the worst pizza take away we have ever had. We ate about 1/4 of the food and we are not fussy at all. The base was so dry and chewy and ridiculously crispy it could have taken a filling out. The topping was not even decent. I ordered 1 x tomato and 1 x cheese garlic bread and we got 2 x cheese just to top it all off. The pasta was watery and tasteless. If you are a coeliac avoid here like the plague. They have absolutely no idea at all. They didn’t even want to try to isolate the food. I was told upon ordering that the pizzas would be in a shared oven which is fine. I understand that. We get that everywhere but I asked the girl are they put on a tray and I was told yes. Then I turned up and they were literally put in with the normal pizzas on the oven floor! Absolutely no concept of wheat cross contamination at all. I asked could they be put on trays and I was told no they were already in! I was met with attitude about how the whole oven will have wheat in the air. We are aware of that but at least TRY not to have the underneath of the pizzas where cross contamination mainly takes place isolated from where the wheat pizzas have been. Had the food at least been enjoyable I wouldn’t have gone out my way to write a review but it was awful. I can think of better ways to waste £35. We couldn’t even get half way through. It was terrible. I ended up making my partner egg and chips for tea it was that bad. They seriously need to just not even get involved in the gluten free pizza game. It is not their forte. The normal pizzas look good but their GF offering is inedible. Don’t lure people in under the impression you can do it. Take it off the menu and stick to what you know or buy in the bases like dominos and put them on trays!!
