Popped in here for breakfast before catching the train to Stranraer. The young lady who took our order was very pleasant and efficient. Our order was processed quickly and we enjoyed a delicious, well-cooked meal. Would not hesitate in recommending.

We read some good positive reviews and when staying in Ayr for a few days decided to try the Breakfast. Very small place opposite Ayr Station. Very attractive lady behind the counter with dead pan face not welcoming at all. The bottoms of all the wooden chairs and tables could do with being sanded down to tidy them up. The breakfast was ok and good value for money but the Black Pudding was sliced so thin....almost as thin as a biscuit. Perhaps they should charge a little more and serve decent portions.

This lovely and friendly snack bar is just opposite Ayr railway station and the perfect place for a very decent full scottish breakfast on a freezing cold Sunday morning when the town is all but shut. I had come down from Glasgow on the train to catch my flight from Glasgow Prestwick, and had an hour to spare. I stayed on the train two more stops (12 minutes) and wanted to see Ayr and have a proper cooked breakfast. Remember, you get 50% off the train fare if you´re travelling Ryanair to or from the airport. Pay the guard on the train. Imagine my joy when leaving the station I found The Wee Nook in the parade of shops just opposite. I briefly explored the local streets that Sunday morning, but there´s nothing open apart from a pub and the hairdresser´s. The Wee Nook was not busy, but there were two or three local people having a very nice breakfast and a chat. Try it. A nice mug of hot tea or coffee and a lovely freshly cooked breakfast and all much cheaper and much better quality than the airport and the on-board airline food. I´ll be coming back on my next trip.

Popped in for a breakfast with my other half and have to say we were not disappointed. The waitress was friendly and the service fast. We both ordered a 'belly buster' breakfast and coffee. The breakfast certainly lived up to its name... neither of us ate anything else all day and the coffee was fabulous. We will definitely be back next time we are in Ayr.

A group of us popped for a coffee / tea after completing a very cold coastal walk BUT the food looked and smelled so good we all ordered some!!! We were not disappointed! The food was lovely! we all ordered variations of the breakfast along with tea, coffee and cakes!! I'm Coeliac but this was not an issue for the very kind lady owner!! They made me some eggs, which were delicious and she very kindly gave me some chocolate as I couldn't have a cake!!! The staff were super friendly and very welcoming despite the fact we all dropped in unexpectedly just before closing time. The prices are very reasonably and the food is delicious!! We will all go back and would happily recommend the Wee Nook to anyone!!

Following the overwhelmingly positive reviews for this quaint little joint I decided to pop in after a coffee at nearby Costa. Eager to satiate my attack of the munchies, I was hoping for a quick "tattie scone roll" to fuel up before boarding the train to Edinburgh for a day on the Royal Mile. Last time I visited in Scotland, several years ago, I discovered the beauty of the 'tattie scone' at a cafe in the West End of Glasgow. The Scotch call potatoes 'tattles' which is perhaps a reference to the chewy, 'tatty' texture of the thin slices favoured as breakfast roll fillings. With less cholesterol than a ham burger, we Americans could really learn a lesson from 'the sick man of Europe'. Anyway, arrived at this traditional 'wee' place and the friendly waitress, after a somewhat garbled interchange with the 'chef', sadly informed me that they were waiting for a cash and carry delivery and would be unable to make my roll. I was devastated, especially after absorbing the rich fried aromas which got my taste buds tingling! Disappointing, especially with the good reviews this place gets - with that standard of customer service, perhaps the waitress could've popped next door to procure some 'tattie scones' for myself! Oh well, I tucked into some Skips on the train instead, filled with the bitterness of disappointment as I passed a young boy sitting eating said roll at Troon station(the golf, by the way, looks sublime).
