I recently visited with my son and we had the cheese and onion pie. Unfortunately it was mostly made up of onion, cut really thick which was very disappointing and we didn't enjoy the meal at all. It was the worst cheese and onion pie I have ever had😔 The service was great though and the atmosphere of the cafe was welcoming so hopefully we will return again soon and try something else😃

Well .....what a fabulous little place ! Party of 6 for a birthday celebration 🎉. Went on tapas night . Quality food, quality service , great atmosphere, great entertainment ! Will definitely be back .

Freat place with fantastic food

Great price for the amount you get. Each lunch main is about £10 + ~£1.50 - 3 for drinks. The food was colourful, delicious and presented nicely, with lighter and heartier options. I had the halloumi burger and my mum had the skewers. Approved 👍 and the bathroom has emergency period products which I thought was a super kind and thoughtful touch :) ❤️

Lovely freindly owners had a bacon sausage and egg breakfast barm all quality ingredients on a nice soft barm 👍👍👍

Very stylish interior, lovely staff, was only drinking so didn't try the food but the menu looks delicious. Great atmosphere as live music was being played, will definitely return.

Stopped for lunch after visiting a nearby antiques centre. I had the jacket potato with shredded beef chilli. The accompanying cole slaw was very nice. The gravy from the chilli overflowed so the rest of the salad garnish came with the gravy - which was a bit odd. The shredded beef chilli was not too bad - but a bit bland. The service was prompt but it took quite a while for the potato to arrived. The restaurant was clean and the staff friendly and welcoming. Maybe there was a problem with jacket potatoes when I visited. I’d probably try something else if I visited again.

Good breakfast with family group, very friendly staff, not cheap but quality ingredients, will be back for more.

A lovely, friendly place with great food. If you’re staying nearby or just passing through, stop off and try it. You’ll not be disappointed. Dog friendly too.

Highly recommend by a trusted friend...I have, however, just checked and they have revised hours - open until 4pm on a Saturday/Sunday so have submitted revised hours to Google

Found the place by randomly looking at Google x Very impressed upon walking in and the lady helping us with our baby and getting a baby seat ready for us. Good choice of food and specials to choose from. Very much enjoyed the homemade mulled wine. I ordered the festive burger and it was just yummy. I think brie should be on every burger x Hubby had the fish cakes which were just as good x The service was perfect. Lovely ladies to chat to as well x We definitely will be coming back when next in the area

Great little bistro style place, really nice decor with a chilled ambiance and staff were really friendly too.

Highly recommend excellent food lots of it . Had steak baguette very tender and tasty steak . Coleslaw, salad , wedges , caramelised onions, mushrooms and peppers. Very reasonable prices and the staff were very attentive and friendly . Drinks also very reasonable will definitely be back .

Happened upon this place by accident and it turned out to be a happy one. The food was outstanding and very reasonably priced. The team running the place were also extremely nice and accommodating to changes from menu as shown. Very much recommend the sweet potato soup which I had never had before but thought I would risk it and it was very nice indeed.

Amazing food, well priced and the staff are brilliant. I come here often and always will.

3 friends went you lunch fantastic food we all had hot beef baguette with salad and chips a mineral water a can of coke and a decaf coffee all for £33 hot and tasty and freshly made .. highly recommended

Excellent little bar/ cafe we stopped at cycling, good food and friendly staff would recommend.

Nice thin tasty pizza and the large dough balls were made and cooked just right accompanied with a nice garlic butter. We will be eating from here again.

We regularly order pizza's on a Friday night from The Water Trough. We were very happy with the food, the pizza's were a good temperature and very tasty.

Popped in for a drink and snack. Fabulous service and the cheesecake and rainbow cake were divine!

A fantastic opening night at The Water Trough! As a local we've eagerly watched the changes unfold over the last 4 weeks and honestly it did not disappoint. A local friendly atmosphere with excellent food and a friendly team. The gourmet burger and pepperoni pizza were awesome. Even if you just wanted to pop in for a drink, there's a great drinks menu too and plenty of seating! Ideally located near to Rossendale Way & Mary Townley Loop public footpaths and bus stops. We've already recommended you to family & friends and can't wait to be back, I want to sample those desserts!

Food was ok, service a little slow but overall pretty good.

Lovely breakfast this morning at the Water Trough, couldn't fault anything, the Staff were really welcoming and it was great to be able to take the dogs in. The dogs were given water and a sausage which went down a treat. The food was lovely with a lovely hot pot of tea & we weren't rushed at all. Will definitley be recommending to family & friends and will be back to try more from the menu.

Lovely owners and staff. Accommodated my nut allergy and Coeliac Disease which is absolutely fantastic. The chef even showed me the ingredients of the ice cream to put my mind at rest. Had a 5* meal for my son's 15th birthday 🎂 Thank you and good luck!

It was out first visit and thoroughly enjoyed the food.

Just had such a lovely lunch with family. Couldn’t fault it in anyway. Friendly staff, fantastic food and fabulous wine! Booking is essential as it was fully booked when we were there as it’s such a great place. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

The Water Trough team - we would all like to say after the amazing visit to your place last night. Your Bistro has a 2022 vibe, amazing decor, impeccably clean.. More importantly It has the fantastic feel, energy and staff of a days gone by, everybody welcomed and nothing too much trouble. The food was delicious, the homemade touches were amazing and great value!! We all enjoyed the whole fab night and will be back soon! Keep up the great work guys.

It was our first time at the Water Trough and we really enjoyed it. The pizzas were excellent and so were the sides and the dessert. Good choice of drinks, too. We'll definitely come back. The staff was lovely and very attentive. 5 stars! 👌

Popped in for a cuppa and snack, lovely place spotlessly clean, friendly staff and highly recommend the chocolate cake (which was vegan always a plus for us!) which was amazing. Will be booking for an evening meal in the new year.

Nice cafe but waited ages for food had burger that was advertised as steak burger was ok but I detest onions and it had loads of onions in in the actual burger which wasn’t advertised, I wouldn’t of ordered if I had known and chips weren’t cooked probably not crispy just soggy they needed to be cooked more! nothing worse that not crispy chips, will try them again maybe! The coffee was good though and cake
