I came here with a group of my friends (5) to order some food and milkshakes. I ordered a mushroom soup of the day but it was cold and really not nice. I also ordered an iced coffee which was quite nice but I ordered syrup with it and it had none. I know this because 2 of my other friends for syrup and it was very visible. I was still charged for it and the cold soup fully priced which is a bit naf but that’s not the worse thing. My friend ordered a normal milkshake and it took a whole hour for it to come. Our food was ready quick but we ordered 2 milkshakes. One took 35 minutes wait and the other a whole hour and probably more. It wasn’t even a big milkshake it was a normal one. The staff continued to say it would be out in a minute but it really wasn’t, at-least they were nice about it. We all went down to pay to go and the friend, who had to wait an hour had to pay full price which is not on. We went to do a new place afterwards due to us being hungry as we couldn’t eat a lot of the things due it not being nice. Was not a good experience…

Very happy with our visit. Tasty cottage pie with tonnes of bread on the side and the nicest milkshakes and waffles. I had no idea there was an upstairs. Staff were very friendly even though they were short staffed on the day we came. Will be back 😊

Went today supporting 2 gentleman I work with. Staff very welcoming,very attentive. Had afternoon tea,what a delight. So much food we had to take some home. Also got I think 8 little shot glasses with some of their delightful cordials/pops in for us to try. Excellent value for money. They also sell sweets like sasperillas, pear drops,chocolate limes and many others so I just had to buy some on our way out. Highly recommend and I will definitely be going back with my family. Thank-you for a lovely memorable afternoon

Went in with a friend who treated for me for my birthday. I forgot to ask for names but ALL of the staff were absolutely lovely, greeting us very warmly on entrance. We eat got a sausage butty and a milkshake (he got a daim and me the unicorn one) and oh my God was everything delicious! The sausages were very tasty, the barm wasn't dry or stale, and the milkshakes weren't too sweet and very balanced. There's and small downstairs and larger upstairs area and the decor is very quirky and fun. This is absolutely somewhere to go for a cheeky treat and highly recommend it.

Visited on a very wet Saturday and immediately felt welcome and warm. We took our seats upstairs (although downstairs seating is available) and immediately feasted our eyes on a rather interesting menu! After ordering a full English, the food came in good time and was hot and fresh. The eggs were poached perfectly! Absolute blissful, great quality food. I also enjoyed a biscoff hot chocolate which was absolutely delightful! 5 stars isn't enough for this gorgeous place ❤️

The food’s good, but you really go for the huge range of flavoured drinks available hot, cold or sparkling. The dandelion and burdock is especially good. The bar is quite small, so expect to eat and drink outside on busy days.

We have waited so long to visit this place. Saw it on TV and have bought Fitzpatrick’s for years. The staff and owner were just exceptional. Customer service was second to none. Amazing energy and such a cute cosy place. The menu is great and presentation is on point. Even though it’s an hour and half away we will definitely be back.

I have recently relocated to this area and Mr. Fitzpatrick's has become my new favourite place to go when I want to treat myself.

We have been coming to the Temperance Bar for many years on our trips to The North. There is simply no place like it. Food, cordials - the lot. It’s the best.

Food & staff great, the room upstairs is lovely but not good for my daughter as she has downs & Alzheimer’s & struggles with stairs & the ones there are not good for her. They said to phone up beforehand next time & book a table downstairs which would be great but the toilet is upstairs., didn’t ask if there was a disabled toilet downstairs & no one mentioned one. Would love to go on a weekly basis as we shop in Rawtenstall & like to have lunch too.

Been looking forward to visiting for ages, managed to luckily grab a table but would advise booking if visiting on the weekend. Service was excellent, staff are very knowledgeable about the cordial range and happy to dish out tasters of their entire range. A special mention to the youngest waitress who was attentive and gracious when our order was slightly delayed, a wonderful addition to the cafe! I'm gluten intolerant and the staff were knowledgeable about their menu and there's GF bread to swap out for the toasties and sandwiches, I was informed that there is gluten free pancakes too, although I didn't try these. We topped up our supply of cordials and hope to be back soon.

I visit here occasionally when I need to top up on my favourite cordial. The staff here are always so delightful and friendly and I feel genuinely welcome when I walk through the door.

Visited with a family including 5 adults & 2 older children. We came by car and parked in the near by supermarket car park noting the time limit. We walked the short distance to/from the bar. We requested a table upstairs, a week or so in advance, but this turned out not to be suitable for us so the helpful staff quickly acted and moved us downstairs to a more suitable table. We all found the menu varied and were spoilt for choice. We all opted for different sandwiches, some with soup. As well as food, the kids had 2 fantastic milkshakes of which there were so many to choose from! The food was freshly prepared, hot and very tasty. The meal service was great, friendly but professional and attentive (but not overly so). The drinks menu is of course extensive, we had a variety of Fitzpatrick’s juices, soft drinks, tea and coffee (inc decaf), all well presented with fruity trimmings! It was my Mums Birthday and we took a cake with us. The staff prepared the cake and kindly sang HB alongside us. They provided plates and cutlery for us. This wasn’t expected and was very generous we thought. The table area and WC were very clean. The inside is quirky (obv very old), and full of character. The stairs might be a challenge for those with limited mobility but it wasn’t a problem for us. The atmosphere was lively but not noisy. We noted there was some outdoor/pavement seating. In summary, the best thing about the visit was the food and service. The staff made Mums day with a generous treat at the end and we all enjoyed their great hospitality. We’ve visited a few times in recent months and we will all definitely go again. Thanks to the staff for our lovely visit!

Utterly magical place. Ash and the team were brilliant, courteous, patient, warm and welcoming. A breath of kindness and beautiful compassion. Came with dad who has Alzheimer’s to trigger some memories of days gone by. As usual the milkshakes off the scale yummy and thrown into the mix was the added bonus of a gym workout out when heading up the stairs to the top floor. Good workout for dad’s 87 years old thighs 😂💪 Keep up the brilliant work and highly recommended.

Love the cordials since discovering them at an Artisan Market so whenever we are in the area we visit Mr Fitzpatricks. The bar is lovely and old fashioned but is very small with limited space so can be hard to get in on busy days. Food is always delicious and fresh and the staff very welcoming. Just be careful if you go to sit upstairs as the stairs are small and narrow with a restricted height at the bottom (I cracked my head hard by accident going up).

Quirky little tea room full of history . So many lovely touches- our tea and coffee came with a little complimentary coconut cake .Service was fabulous and we were offered testers of the Mr Fitzpatrick cordials . The Dandelion and Burdock took my 80 yr old Mum right back to her childhood .

Came for the first time. staff were very welcoming from when we first entered. We sat upstairs which was nice and quiet! the milkshakes were amazing we didn’t wait long for them. we built our own! would reccomend!! we had a cranberry and pomegranate with vanilla icecream and a flake and a rhubarb and rosehip with raspberry ripple ice cream and a donut.

I have been coming here for years now. Brilliant place for young and old alike. It’s a very cosy setting with some seriously nice drinks and the food/milkshakes/coffees are fantastic! The kids love coming here and their eyes are usually bigger than their bellies, but who cares as long as they have a good time. Thanks guys!

I bought a gift pack of the cordials and struggled with getting the corks out! Contacted their customer service department and they could not have been more helpful! Sent me a replacement pack out straight away. Love the cordials and their service and attitude are first rate! Highly recommended xxx

My review is based on my experience as buying Mr Fitzpatrick's as a retailer. The ordering process is the easiest I've had with any supplier in hospitality for over 20 years. There's very little need for upsell as these products sell themselves. Get down to the temperance bar in Rawtenstall and experience real fruit cordials.

We have been wanting to visit here since we saw it on TV. We finally made it today and were delighted with out experience. The range of drinks is simply mind boggling. Wonderful!!. I could have stayed there all day sampling the drinks. My favourite was the Orange and Bergamot. Mmmmmmmm. We had lunch. Food was great. Very friendly people too. We hope to return soon.

Unique and friendly temperance bar-come-cafe in a centrally-located historical building near the historic town-centre with a hefty range of local cordials in bottles AND optics, served in still, fizzy or hot variations, as well as some superb cakes (and savoury lunch bites) and rather formidable looking milkshakes. We sampled seven taster drinks ranging from the sweet, the sour(ish) and the herbal, before plumping for hot blackcurrant and liquorice cordial and leaf tea, bolstered by a slab of superb victoria sponge. Very welcome on such a chilly day. Friendly staff, kid-friendly (they have a few toys) and a very steep set of stairs up to the additional seating. Previously featured in a few publications and by the Hairy Bikers and a worthy destination if you fancy non-alcoholic bevvies after a day on the moors or the ELR.

My girlfriend and I have just visited this lovely little Temperance Bar in Rossendale. It was my first time here and I must say I'd come again as often as possible. The food is fresh and homemade, the drinks are to die for. We came for breakfast and a drink each, everything is reasonably priced for the high quality. The atmosphere is homely and the staff are lovely! We were greeted at the door and were served quickly and with a smile! 10/10, would recommend to anybody looking for a quiet gem in the heart of the North!

My favorite place in the world.

Met a friend for a pre-Christmas meet up and my wife and travelled from Cumbria. I really enjoyed the food and pleasant staff but the rhubarb and custard shake was stunning and gave me a lot of happy taste buds. Hope to revisit again soon.

I actually ordered some cordials from Mr Fitzpatrick's, which unfortunately were damaged in transit. Contact Mr Fitzpatrick's, Abbie from customer service, arranged to send me the replacement order. I had previously become aware of Mr Fitzpatrick's as I received some Cordials for a birthday, so this was me, ordering for myself. Checking out the choices available, I was delighted to see Sarsparilla, which I haven't had since my childhood, many moons ago. Of course Dandelion and Burdock and Ginger Cordial were obvious choices for me, oh to be a child again! I cannot wait to get into them all. Great service, Great Cordials. Well done Mr Fitzpatrick's

Lovely food in a quirky environment.

What a lovely little place!!! The staff totally made this visit with how friendly they were. They let us have little tasters of the cordials before we bought them with was a fab idea.

This review is for how they dealt with my online order of cordials from their website. After emailing to advise my order had not been received the office staff dealt with my issue very quickly and professionally with a replacement order being sent and received within 1 day. Any company can have issues with deliveries using Royal Mail etc but the sign of a good company is how they deal with issues. Thank you everyone for sorting this. Very impressed.
