This place is the only buffet where you get up to grab some food & within a minute all the drinks that have been added to the bill + the cutlery are removed. Then I come back to the table with food & I have to wait 5 minutes and explain the situation for the waiter to hand back the knife and fork and more drinks & I did not even get an apology. This caused a scene & the couple beside us did not want to get up as they thought they’d receive similar treatment.

We ate at the Water Margin when attending the recent ELO concert. The food we found to be excellent -considering the number of diners. My wife fell ill (definitely NOT food related) and collapsed in the restaurant and was sick after fainting. The care she received from the restaurant team was exceptional. Noemi the manager stayed with her until the medics arrived and was so caring. A big “thank you” to her and everyone else at Water Margin. We hope to be back soon to thank them in person.

This is quite a big place serving food buffet style which is usually a favourite with us as everyone gets to eat what they like. The tables are long and can be a bit of a pain walking behind people to get to the buffet but everyone was good about it. The service was miserable to surly mostly until the very end when paying at the till when that staff member was cheerful and friendly. Then there was the food. There was a fair bit of choice and a few things were quite nice but the beef and lamb dishes had a real tainted taste. I also had some chicken that was pink/uncooked in the middle. I stuck to rice and veggies after that. It was not badly priced for such a venue but that is the only positive sadly.

We have visited the restaurant many times over the years but the standard feels much less. The coke was a thin mix. The food choices seem less than before. The live grill took a long while and was very well cooked / burnt. Although the staff have no control over the guests, we had two very loud groups of young people which took over and were quite rude to staff. We visited around 5:30 and lots of dishes were half empty.

Ok, so it’s not the best Chinese restaurant you’re ever going to dine in, but the food is as cheap and plentiful as they come. Massive selection of every course, including raw ingredients that you can have cooked to order (not sure if that’s inclusive though), should you so wish. Four of us had some pretty generous helpings of at least 2 courses, plus drinks, for around £20 per person. Can’t complain at that! Wouldn’t rush back though ...

I spoke to staff about lack of food available, I was told we are busy, when we entered the restaurant we we shown straight to a seat. We ordered a second drink the bought lemonade instead of coke, this wasn’t replaced we were just told we are busy. I have since emailed the restaurant only to be told come back when we are not so busy and that it’s good value for your money. My husband and I visited before seeing a show, so was quiet busy but still got a seat ok. Lots of different dishes to choose from all the typical classics sweet and sour, satay chicken curry, crispy duck prawn toast etc can also choose raw meat/fish and get this cooked whilst you wait. Have visited before with a vegetarian friend who also said their is a great choice. Can also choose desert fresh fruit, 3 flavours of ice cream, pick and mixs sweets and marshmallows to dip in a chocolate fountain. So your £14 includes the buffet plus deserts. The drinks are fairly priced £4.70 a pint of beer and I think a large coke was £3.20 a lot cheaper than buying a drink inside the o2.I would highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant you won't be disappointed

The Water Margin Restaurant is an all you can eat Chinese Buffet Restaurant. It is always best to book a table there as it can get quite busy. The choice of food is amazing, and there is always plenty to go round as it is always being replenished. The staff are very polite and professional. The price of eating there is reasonable for a restaurant in that location. There is always quite a few Oriental people eating there as well. I really like this restaurant and it is about a 5 minute walk from North Grenidge Underground Station. Visited with my daughter before the Celine Dion concert on 29th July. First impressions were good but things went downhill fairly quickly. We arrived about 5.30 and were seated upstairs. Despite being fairly quiet staff still seemed a bit flustered. We ordered drinks and received the wrong order, when asking for it to be changed the waitress didn't totally understand the problem but eventually returned with that we ordered. We only had soft drinks but just tasted like cheap juice. The food looked lovely, with a good selection, but sadly not as tasty as it appeared. By 6.15 it was getting quite busy and as you would expect the food that was available soon disappeared. Unfortunately they just couldn't keep up with demand at this point and took ages to replenish food, plates and cutlery. People were waiting to be served with drinks and queuing for food for an unacceptable length of time. A few were complaining but weren't getting much response. An apology goes a long way to appeasing people but it wasn't forthcoming. When they finally started to top up the food it was going quickly again so no doubt it would've ran out again all too soon. We didn't hang around to find out once we saw the dirty, wet dishes that were brought out for desserts. That was a bit off-putting so we gave up and left.Probably nice when they don't have as many people to look after but wouldn't go back to find out!

Arrived at the 02 on Saturday 29 July for a concert at about 5.30 and started looking for somewhere to eat . the first few establishments had long queues of people waiting to enter. Walked further down and found this Chinese Buffet , walked upstairs and was seated straight away . Restaurant was approx. 3/4 full at this time. Plenty of food there and service was good. 30 minutes later queue had formed and people were waiting a fair while to be seated . Agree that they could have been quicker refilling the food containers .

We visited this restaurant on Saturday the 29th July 2017. It was busy, and we had to queue. The lady seating people was harassed and grumpy. We sat down for about fifteen minutes, no-one asked if we would like drinks, in the end I got up and asked a man clearing the tables if I had to go to the bar to get drinks, he said no and took my order. By the time the drinks finally arrived, we were half way through our meal. There was a large family next to us, how we didn't get hit by flying food from them all I will never know, all the children ate like they were cement mixers, you could see the contents of their mouths being churned around. Its annoying when people act like that, makes you wonder what they are like at home. When they left the staff cleaned all the floor and tables up quickly, I was quite impressed! (Maybe it a regular thing?)However, there was real lack of clean plates and bowls, people were queuing up by the kitchen door to get crockery. The food: There was a lot of empty dishes on the buffet carousel. Some of the starter chicken and pork food was very dry. The duck/pancakes was lovely. There was a choice of lots of rice noodles and vegetables, and the chicken with cashews was good. My favourite Chinese food is the chicken and sweetcorn soup, I eat a lot of it! I can honestly say the soup here tastes absolutely revolting, its got almost a slimy texture - I've never, ever "tasted" anything like it!The toffee bananas were perfect, the tray was empty a lot, but I am pleased I made the effort to revisit the puddings carousel, as these were the best bit of our whole meal.I did not try the stir fry cooking station, I am allergic to fish, and did not want to risk any cross contamination. All the food was labelled up with the ingredients, so I could make sure I didn't eat anything that would upset me.My daughter is a vegetarian, but there was plenty for her to eat.The fresh fruit was lovely, really fresh. The jelly was a bit weird tasting!I think the sweets next to the ice cream should be in some sort of dispenser rather than a bowl. No-one used the spoons. Children and adults were grabbing handfuls of sweets, shoving them in their mouths then taking more handfuls..... I bet the sweets have a nice urine and saliva content if they were tested, from people handling them...........Yuck. I swerved them, and the chocolate fountain after I saw someone sticking their fingers under the pouring chocolate...... (not the restaurants fault I know, maybe more staff in this area might help though).Avoid the toilets if you can, they need a really good clean. :-( (I always judge a place by the state of the toilets........)Would I go again? Probably not, the staff look so miserable, clearly overworked and fed up, they are almost mesmerising, I did not see one of them smile at any time, I sort of felt a bit sorry for them all. The man chopping up the fresh fruit and melons looked like he was going to burst into tears - maybe he shouldn't have access to any knives! If someone asked me the most memorable parts of my visit, I'd have to say the miserable staff and the toffee bananas!

On the 29 July we came to this restaurant for dinner and it was a complete disaster from start to finish. There were no plates, no dishes and very little food. We had to keep asking for everything, we waited 20 minutes for a dish to have some soup which was like dishwasher and was not worth waiting for, no seaweed or ribs for the whole duration we were in the restaurant and plenty of other dishes were empty a lot of the time. The Water Margin buffet bar is one of the hidden gems in the London O2. If you do not go past Nandos and TGI Fridays etc, you will never discover this little buffet delight! The venue is large, the seating is sufficient, but what lets this buffet restaurant down is the poor service and sub standard food which all seemed to be cooked in the same oil.If you do decide to visit this restaurant though, do try out their live cooking area where you can have a meal prepared for you by a chef right in front of you. That would make for an interesting experience.

Ok food for an ok price in London. Basically, the food isn't of the greatest quality and at times was a bit cold. But there were some pleasant dishes; the noodles, and some of the veggie food, like the broccoli in hot bean sauce and the garlic soy mushrooms. I would have expected more choice for veggies though. The bar and table serving staff were reasonably friendly, but I did ask one of the food servers at an empty hot plate if there was any more satay coming out. 4 of us visited on a Friday evening before seeing Jack Whitehall as there was tube disruption and arrived later than planned so needed something quick before the event. We walked in and it was about half full. Were seated quickly and drink orders taken.Went up to the buffet, hardly any food, nothing was being replenished quick enough for the amount of customers in the restaurant - baring in my mind at this stage the place was only half full. We managed to get a few bits and sat down. During our first plate of food, the restaurant was getting busier and busier. We all went up for a second plate of food. It was chaos. Queues of 20 people at each station, still no food, no sign of staff attempting to clear the empty stations, the fresh cooking part were completely swamped, shambles. Scraped off the last remaining bit of sweet and sour chicken and a handful of chewy prawn crackers and went back to the table. Our old plates were still there - and were never taken away. The chicken I had was soft and raw, completely put me off eating anything else.We complained at the end and the cashier was very apologetic and only charged us for 2 meals and our drinks which was kind of her, but was still steep for what we had actually eaten which was not much between us.Would never return here, I hate buffet places as it is and this visit has just re-confirmed why.AVOID. Me and my partner went here for something to eat before watching Avenged Sevenfold perform. We were originally attracted to it by a very happy, friendly young lady standing outside, trying to get people to go into the restaurant. It wasn't done in a pressuring way at all. When she saw us walk in she looked at us and said 'Enjoy your food, I hope you have a pleasant experience' which made me and my partner smile. The food is great. its a chinese buffet with a range of different food to try. It even includes deserts which as you can gather by the title - INCLUDES CHOCOLATE FOUNTAINS! this is a big deal if you are a chocolate lover like myself, but they don't just have one, they have two. One Milk Chocolate and one White chocolate, which is just divine. DEFINITELY GO AND VISIT WHEN AT THE O2!!!

My friend and I were both impressed. Steak and prawn teppanaki was great and the choice was vast: salmon , duck, lamb, chicken and delicious crispy pork bites. Two chocolate fountains. All for £14.80. No wonder it was packed Friday night! I am bringing a group next time.

Been here twice now..once with my work colleagues for Christmas do and once with just husband. Both times great range of food, great service for drinks and reasonable too. Added bonus s disco/bar/small night club downstairs. The food is hot and my husband loved the wok station. And unlike some places, no rush to get out. Highly recommend.

If you looking for a good place to eat at the o2 arena, the water margin buffet is surely a good choice. They offer a great variety of food and the price isn't too expensive, 8 pound for lunch and 14 for dinner, with the beverage not included in this price. The place has lots of seat, the staff run very often to check if they can take empty plates from tables. The food choice is very good, they offering the usual dishes that every buffet has like : chicken sweet and sour, satay beef, noodles, vermicelli, spring roll etc... but they offering good dishes that other buffet don't have like : dumplings, mussels, prawns, aubergine, chicken wings, pancake and duck. Plus they have an area with raw salmon, prawns, steak, and vegetables, which you can give the chef to cook it for you, kind of teppanyaki style. After all this food, they also offer fruits, ice creams, cakes and sweets. All perfect for families with kids.

I went there yesterday for dinner with my family for the first time, after getting our meal,I told one of the staff wearing a red top for tap water and she said okay, but after a long time of waiting for the water,I decided to go back and remind her of the water because at this time, the kids needed water, she replied in a very harsh and rude voice that I should wait,I calmly told her that I came to her because being my first time,I didnt know if I should've to do it myself, she just ignored me and this made feel so embarrased,I just withdrew to myself and that staff just ruined the evening for me.I dont think I can ever go there again.

Goodness it was mayhem! The 'hostess' was manic. Bordering on scary. Service was efficient at table but surly. Lots of loud groups shouting and bring generally thoughtless to others . Food, when available, at the buffet was really good. But it was like a swarm of locusts when a tray of duck or something was put out!

We ate here after going to the cinema and while the choice of food was good, hot and well-cooked, the noise levels and shabby state of the decor (stained seats and scruffy toilets) put me off a little. I did like the fact that our used plates were taken away quickly and it was good value for money.

Visited here before going to see Frozen on ice. Everywhere was packed but luckily discovered this gem and didn't regret it. Excellent choice of starters, mains and desserts. It is an all you can eat buffet and very good value and the food is lovely. There is plenty of choice for vegetarians as well. Leave yourself plenty of time to relax and enjoy. £14.95 for adults, £7.50 for children and £4 for toddlers excellent value. Service is good as well.

Probably the best Lobster Yee Mein (noodles) I've had in London. There were 8 of us came for dinner, all dishes were specially ordered off the buffet menu. We had lemon chickens, peking duck with mandarin pancakes, salmon fillets, etc... I'm glad we came here, there is no turning back now. Definitely will be our first choice of new local Chinese restaurant! PS: À la Carte required pre-book a week before your lunch/dinner.

Found it good value and plenty of choice. Large seating area soon full so arrive in good time. Buffet dishes constantly refilled. What we ate was very good. Staff courteous and friendly. Tables and floor kept spotless which was swept after a diner left. We ate from dinner menu at £14-15. Drinks were reasonable too. Would definitely return to The Water Margin if visiting the O2. When we left there was a long queue so must be popular.

Visited here to eat before a gig. Very minimal table service, venue a bit rough around the edges and decor all over the place (part Chinese, part coffee shop, part disco flooring?!) Quite pricey for amount of choice available but food was absolutely delicious, really enjoyed it. Limited food on offer but would go back because it's all you can eat.

This buffet is not bad it is that apart from the nice cook on demand tepanjaki that is the highlight the rest of he food is mainly fried and fairly unhealthy with an inconsistent standard of quality from decent to terrible. Overall if you like Asian cuisine, you are very hungry and don't mind a ton of calories, it is not a bad choice

We were attending an event at the O2 and spotted this Chinese buffet restaurant earlier in the day. We arrived for dinner at about 5.30 and the place was already fairly full. By the time we left, the queue was stretching down the staircase, so it pays to eat early if you can. The all inclusive price for the buffet was very reasonable as were the drink prices. Service was brisk and efficient if not particularly warm or welcoming. There are rows and rows of tables and many staff on hand to deal with the large volume of customers. The buffet itself was absolutely outstanding with so many dishes to choose from, including shellfish and stir fry dishes. The selection of desserts was also outstanding. I would go here again for a quick and decent pre-concert meal.

Visited last year during the tennis it was ok, so we came back this year as well, as it's a good place to eat quickly.Very disappointing! There are two main things that anybody managing a place like this cannot afford to miss in order to make some money:1) Make sure ALL the dishes are refilled promptly2) Make sure ALL the tables can quickly order and get drinksThis place failed on both, especially point 1. There were just four "vegan" dishes available, and for the hour we spent in there they were empty (2 of them) or empty most of the time (the other two).I've told it to somebody there but they didn't seem to bother.Ordering drinks after the first wasn't that quick either.I've been in other buffet places where the dishes are NEVER left empty, and that is how it should be.Ideally there should be one person dedicated to check the stocking and promptly order running out dishes, but in there nobody seems to care, even though it was 6pm and the place was getting very busy! Also, the number of dishes is nowere near that advertised on the web site, so even the variety is not there. After this experience, we'll never eat again at the O2, not even in another restaurant: better take a taxi and go somewhere nearby!

I went there for dinner myself. a bit disappointed as there was no WIFI available as I still have lot of emails pending. The food was ok at that price point for buffet. Just a bit confuse as the bill say" service charge is not included". In general, I can say the dinner was ok, nothing to be really impressive but no complaint.

Had evening meal between afternoon and evening tennis sessions at O2, so limited time. Quickly seated, ordered drinks which by time we returned from first visit to buffet were on table. Wide choice of starters, mains and desserts. Quality was reasonable considering the price ( less than £15 per head). Would use again.

When you and your young family can all taste stale water in the orange jelly and you give it to staff who ate it and all truly believed the jelly was fine, you question exactly what some restauranters will give customers just for profit. It makes me disappointed, angry even. For me, this was a bio hazard. People could have been sick but this did not trouble the manager who did not apologise, offer a discount (even a reason) or felt he needed to assess what is wrong. The menu changed from the last time we went when things were acceptable. The unappetising food display should really have served a warning to us. But I was willing to try the food instead of being a career complainer who I also have no time for. If you simply must go, you may prefer the dinner menu which should have extra choices...of bacteria. We will not be hot-footing it to Water Margin anytime soon.

Had a family lunch at The Water Margin at the O2 today while on a day's visit to the North Greenwich area, which included a return trip across The Thames on the Emirates Air Line, the Emirates Experience, the excellent Nissan Innovation Station and a trip on a River Bus. Had a walk around inside The O2 looking for somewhere to eat and The Water Margin stood out as a reasonably priced and attractive choice. We weren't disappointed. Food choices were excellent and everything that we had was tasty and fresh. My highlights included the crab claws, seaweed, satay chicken, mushrooms in oyster sauce, Peking duck and prawn toast. Unfortunately, nobody explained the teppanyaki offer and all that we, and seemingly others, saw was a table of raw foods and a warning not to eat them uncooked! Desserts are not a Chinese speciality but there was a good selection of fruit, ice cream and delicate little cakes available. The restaurant was clean and the waiting staff friendly and efficient. A great place to eat and very good value at £8.80 per head. Will return and try the teppanyaki soon!

A table had been booked for dinner. Disappointed, the containers had not been refilled, and it was a case of left over food from the morning of that day. Those serving at the table we most pleasant and polite, but the food would have been good, if the staff and chef had taken the trouble to restock the food containers. I hope the managers, and directors take note, and make improvements. Not many guests were in the restaurant, and I'm not surprised. As for the drinks, a complete rip off!!!!!.

Second visit here, always a lot of choice and plenty of food but this time it didn't really hit the spot. The ribs and chicken wings were chewy and dry. The desert choices are terrible, really bad. Stick to the pre cooked food if you don't like raw meat! Nothing really wrong but it was massively busy, a birthday party with young kids that were really noisy and older kids that were plan rude. Staff had body odour issues which isn't pleasant in a food environment. Not bad VFM I guess considering the location.

I was very impressed by the friendly, and alert wait staff. The restaurant was clean. The prices are budget and the food is likewise. The chicken curry was exceptional, tasty, spicy and rich. The sweet and sour chicken very nice too. It is not a gourment restaurant but if you like all you can eat chinese buffets this is perfect.

The Water Margin at the O2 is Chinese Buffet Restaurant upstairs and a bar cum disco cum nightclub cum music venue downstairs. We did try and get some food from the restaurant but we'd primarily come to hear former Australian Pop Idol Natalie Gauci perform. The restaurant & bar definitely do not go hand in hand. When asked would it be possible to take food down to the bar from the upstairs restaurant, we were instructed by the waitress to ask the barman downstairs if it would be OK with him and we'd be only offered a single plate (rather that being able to return to the buffet as many times as we'd like if seated upstairs) if he was.I didn't see it as our job to facilitate giving the restaurant money. The smell of food wasn't appealing, the staff not accommodating and the fact we weren't getting the full value for money for the offering meant we passed. But the bar downstairs was truly a surprise. The 02 Dome is full of chains and so the expectation for a music venue was very low.But surprising, as we walked in on Natalie and her supports, we were immediately taken aback by how good the sound was. Further more the venue seemed to have its own sound engineer keen to make sure everything worked.I'm a massive fans of Natalie and her show was as astounding as ever. Some amazing guest stars too (students of hers and fellow compatriots).A couple of things let the place down though. For a music venue not enough thought had gone into the hand dryers in the toilets, which became a constant annoyance (a sound proof toilet door perhaps would have eradicated that one.Barman using blenders during performances to crush ice for cocktails seemed like another faux pas that could have easily been avoided. And sadly, a group of 20 somethings, seemed insistent on making more noise than every performer, giggling or yelling (usually about something inane on Facebook) throughout every performance.A quiet word by staff, just asking them to keep it down (they clearly hadn't come here to see the gig - one wonders actually why they were there at all) wouldn't have gone amiss. But the venue had a good vibe about it all around. I would probably avoid it like the plague on a Friday & Saturday night, but if there's a performer on you'd like to see I'd certainly make the journey down to see them here.Bar prices weren't bad either - A large vodka & orange juice coming in at £6.40 is certainly acceptable. My advice would be, come for the gig not for the food.

Plenty of choice. Everything hot and lots of it. Dishes being replenished all the time. Lots of meat in the meat dishes unlike other buffets that bulk dishes out with vegetables. Tepanyaki bar amazing with squid, prawns, steak, salmon cooked just for you. Deserts - OK so not Chinese deserts but they were very good and the chocolate fountain was a nice surprise. Attentive staff (OK one grumpy one, but glad she was there as she told a noisy child to stop running around and to sit down!) Teapot topped up when it was empty and more than happy to serve tap water. Really good value at £14.80. Would definitely return

This is by far the best restaurant that serves chinese food. Freshly cooked in front of you while you wait and a massive range to pick. Draw back is that it can get noisy at times and I do not quite like getting told that you have 2 hours to eat as we need your table...but hey, just keep in mind that food is delicious.

This buffet style restaurant was a great surprise find! Arrived 5.30pm on a Tuesday which was beginning of evening service. It was quiet to start with and plenty of tables in a spaceous calm clean environment. The food was fresh and hot, very cleanly laid out with lots and lots of choice. There is a 'raw selection'area where you fill your plate with raw prep'd ingredients then turn to a chef who then cooks and seasons it in front of you.The food was so tasty and the drinks very reasonable too! You are taken to a table and given drinks menu after which you help yourself paying a set buffet price at end for the food plus drinks ordered. Iwould highly recommend this restaurant and hope to return again soon.

Sólo una entrega y no estoy impresionado. Para empezar, la comida tardó 1 horas y media. Me dieron 45 minutos.
