This wonderful proper pub doesn't serve food. They make it possible to order in and have priority-delivered amazing pizzas from Artisan local provider. Go here for the ambiance, for the wide and carried selection of craft and cask ales and ciders (prosecco if you must) and a music free place to chat and hang out. Will be returning here many more times. Excellent prices too.

Fantastic little craft beer pub with a lively atmosphere. Has a small but varied selection of craft beers and ciders. It's also fun looking at the random historic local memorabilia dotted around on the walls. Really enjoyed my visit! Also worth noting that this place won the Camra pub of Sussex and Surrey last year 😎

A great little pub with a nice vibe, cool decor and great drinks. We were drawn in by the Toads table and then didn't want to leave! I also spotted a well stocked shelf of other games, as well as a good amount of books to read while you sit and sip indefinitely. We'll be back ASAP.

We visited The Watchmakers Arms on Saturday Night. Mulled cider was great so full of flavour and warming when it was -2 outside. Great decoration throughout and also people playing boardgames inside. Very cosy and relaxed. Even the toilet had its own character and was well decorated. The only drawback for me was CARD ONLY :-( again another business that will loose a star for not accepting cash. Sadly we won't visit again die to card only policy 🌟 But if you are OK with this it really is a great little bar.

Perfect real "real ales" (and ciders) in cask. A real ale pub as It should be. We had also a very much appreciated free cheese tasting!

If you just want a good beer and none of the typical pub atmosphere with gaming machines and piped music I reccomend this place. Very small and very unusal specializing in local cask beers

Putting the cash ale to one side, as that's what we're pretty much all here for, this is a magical little place - many punters much dwell, like me, on the idea of mirroring the magic elsewhere. Such a simple premise so wonderfully executed - warm friendly people serving like minded customers in a compact well considered environment generating a rare spirit of shared camaraderie.

On holiday in Brighton, on my last day visited midday and at night. Had three real ciders, best was Sea cider Hardcore (6.8%), at £4.80 a pint which is at the lower end of the going rate for real cider in Brighton, Wetherspoon excepted. Only one criticism, as a free market libertarian I greatly dislike being told I cannot use cash, so if I was local I wouldn't frequent it all that much. However on my lunchtime visit they did allow cash after I told them (truthfully) I didn't have my debit card.

Come here every visit. Great proper Micro, 2 vgn beers tonight and vgn pizzas. Hoorah! Another year and hear again. So love it!

A unique place serving great beer

Absolutely love this little micro brewery! Fantastic, friendly staff, great atmosphere. Quirky place with tonnes of character. I love that you can order pizzas from Pizza Face, they deliver pretty fast, too. I just wish they were open longer hours!

Reminded me of a Thanet ‘micro pub’, good beers, good people, with the focus firmly on quality beer. A real gem, with four gravity-fed casks on.

Love this little bar very quirky. The beer couldn't be any better kept the Cellar is right behind the bar and every pint is direct from the keg. Always a great variety of beer and a great atmosphere.

Very disappointed that they didn’t have ice or take cash…. Won’t be going back! Just think it’s very depressing when anywhere doesn’t give you a choice of payment.

Probably one of the friendliest hidden gems in Hove 🤫 Great selection of ales and ciders for very reasonable prices. Ran by a lovely bunch and attracts a really nice mix of locals of all ages.

Since it opened, the Watchmakers Arms has become a local Hove institution. Craft beers and Keg ales are it's forte, but also serves quality cider and some wines. Always friendly, as well as being dog-friendly, you can normally find a space for a swift half, or a catch-up with friends. Being so close tho Hove station, either is good.

This was a great introduction from a local resident. The choice of beer is extensive and the staff all clearly know their products. I called the same day to book a couple of seats for that evening, and it wasn’t a problem at all. Will definitely be back next time I’m in the area.

The pub is next to the station. It is very friendly with a good selection of beers - cask and keg. Highly recommended. PS They have a lot of clocks on the walls - who would have guessed with a pub called the Watchmakers! 🕰 😃

A cracking micro pub and, on this occasion, a fabulous Verdant IPA!

Lovely little 'real' pub with a smallish but excellent range of ales and ciders plus some wines - they also do pizzas though I'm yet to try them. Used to come here few years ago when it first opened and on returning after a long time still seems just as good and well run which is a relief. It's very conveniently located for Hove station and the number 7 bus which means getting to it and from it is easy (less easy after a few ciders though I found). Excellent atmosphere and service as well - bear in mind it's popular so gets busy and because of its size not always easy to get a seat depending on the time. Highly recommended. I did later on try the pizza - it was truly superb.

Called in for a first visit when out with a friend on the way to a restaurant. Enjoyed the different beers on tap. Service was good and friendly. It wasn't at all busy and getting a seat in this compact venue wasn't a problem (Thursday evening).

Five cask beers and two keg. Cans. They can order you in pizza as they have menus on the tables. Has plenty of books and board games. Relaxed, friendly and plenty of seating for a small pub.

This place is simply outstanding. Incredible selection of top quality ales, lager and cider. The staff are very friendly and welcome all dogs too with HOMEMADE TREATS (Mind-blowing I know!). HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

Absolutely excellent place, great choice of ales and the Hazelnut / Chocolate Porter brewed on the premises was fantastic. Friendly welcome and really busy - you can book a table which seemed a good idea. 2 minute walk from Hove Station too.

Friendly staff , good selection of ales from the barrel and canned lager for the lager drinkers. Priced for the area which is much more than my local Derbyshire micro. Would recommend if your in the Brighton area.

What an amazing find! Rick is a great host, super entertaining and the story of the pub is so interesting. The beers are fantastic. We tried basically all the menu between the two of us and nothing disappointed. Very glad we found this place and highly recommend.

Lovely, friendly place with a great selection of real ales. Ali and the other bar staff always go out of their way to offer a warm welcome. Definitely something a bit different from your average pub plus dog friendly, which is another plus in my book.

The selection of draft alcoholic drinks is fabulous, based on local Sussex organic produce and brewers. Seating and table arrangements help create a cosy and sociable atmosphere. The friendly owners, always present, offer sample tasting to assist customers in selecting suitable drink.

My favourite Micro-Pub in Brighton and Hove. Great selection of Ale, often updating the choice available. Staff seem really invested in the pub and they have made it into a genuine success. Attracts a good range of people and the prices are reasonable. Convenient location, a minute walk from Hove Station. A desirable pub for sure!

What can you say that hasn't already been said, a great little "Real Ale" boozer with a very friendly atmosphere, great beers and super people running the bar, just wish it was my local, you would never get me out, Lol

A lovely micro-pub serving a good selection of beers, cider and wine. Great atmosphere with friendly staff and other patrons. A very nice touch was a help yourself cheeseboard with donations to charity. The only downfall to our visit was arriving as the last orders bell sounded!!! A visit is recommended (but, check the opening times first!!)

A range of 6 to 8 beers and 3 ciders, Always perfectly poured and served at the right temperature. A small traditional style pub that concentrates on the beer experience without ghastly music or televisions to distract from the experience. Young and old who truly value perfect beer will love this place. Sausage rolls of various flavours compliment the the beer. Dogs are welcome and treated royally. The opening hours are short so watch out for the last orders!

Best pub for quality beer in the Brighton and Hove. The beer is stored and served to the highest standard. Superb atmosphere, Great staff who are always ready to chat and talk about what beer is on offer. Dog friendly. No horrible music, no televisions and only knowledgeable people of all ages from 21 to 91. You can actually chat to people.

On holiday in Hove..... Looking for a good selection of local beers.... Somewhere independent, characterful and friendly.... Saw the Watchmakers on a local listings website and where we were staying knew the folks running the pub and approved of our choice! We were not wrong! Lovely beer on cask and keg from local micros, lovely landlord who was welcoming and knowledgeable, and great pizza that could be ordered in from a nearby pizza takeaway! So would like to go back here next time down in “Hove actually “ as the local saying goes.
