Such a unique place, very experimental drinks and very good story telling with the staff. They were so knowledgeable and friendly, there was someone on a table near us who didn't like his drink but didn't say anything, the staff saw this and promptly offered them another which was fantastic. I will 100% return if I'm ever in Manchester again

The Washhouse in Manchester is a unique bar that combines a quirky atmosphere with a creative cocktail menu. The ambiance resembles a laundromat, featuring vintage washing machines and a cozy, laid-back vibe. The cocktail selection is innovative, with signature drinks that often incorporate unusual ingredients, and the bartenders are skilled at customizing drinks based on preferences. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, providing attentive service that enhances the experience. Located in a central area, it’s easily reachable and a great spot to kick off a night out or unwind after a long day. Overall, The Washhouse stands out for its creative concept and excellent cocktails, making it a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy a unique bar experience in Manchester.

Visited this unusual bar after the Peter Kay gig. Wanted to see it after reading other reviews. It's unusual, entering via a secret door. Once in it was buzzing; great atmosphere and excellent service. That service started with them holding our booking, even though we ran late from the arena. The cocktail menu is extensive, and they are more expensive than some other places. But for an occasional visit, that's fine. Make sure you check out the hidden room upstairs, and find the slide !

Visited this bar with my partner on a visit to manchester. I was so excited but was left extremely disappointed. I struggled to hear the staff and we received the incorrect drinks too. We tried 6 drinks (2free because they weren't ours) in total and it’s sad to say none of them tasted nice, both tables either side of us also didn’t look impressed with the taste. My partner will literally drink anything going but not these. The interior of the bar and the presentation of the drinks is all they have going here for me. Extremely overpriced too. Real shame.

Very interesting and unique bar. Treated my friends to a couple of drinks and we were not disappointed. It's NOT one of those places where they put on a show and then disappoint with the drinks; they were very well made, thought out and special. A really nice + fun location if you want something different. It's also a bigger place, so you can stay and have a bit of privacy + good conversations. Service was attentive and explained the vegan options as well (some cocktails will have egg/milk obviously). A bit pricey for Manchester I'm assuming (around 15 £ for a cocktail) BUT very reasonably priced for what they serve you and offer. Totally worth the experience. 10/10 would recommend!

Secret cocktail bar just up from Printworks in Manchester. It's a great little bar you access through a fake laundry frontage (you have to book in advance). The cocktails are all very original and well made...the staff are all really helpful and explain every drink to you in detail when it comes to the table. If I had any minor gripe it is that the music is a bit generic and there are only 2 or 3 very basic bar snacks...I think a small bar menu would work really well! Ps - ask about the secret slide 😂

Very overhyped, the cocktails were very mediocre and the atmosphere didn’t match the conspiracy theory theme. Feels like a very disjointed “speakeasy” compared to others I’ve been to, if you have a theme stick with it!! Once you step through the vending machine it’s then a conspiracy theory bar but without decor or atmosphere to carry it through. Didn’t appreciate the server trying to push us to order shots when we just wanted to look at the menu and decide on a cocktail. What could be an awesome venue was let down by some very basic things.

Absolute waste of time and money. It feels very much like a trendy thing to do, a place to say you've been. The wait for cocktails when they were ordered was unacceptable. I ordered a second almost as soon as I got my first and ended up cancelling it because the wait was too long. It definitely derailed out evening as we were looking forward to enjoying a few good quality cocktails after a nice meal out. I'd definitely avoid this place if you want to enjoy good quality cocktails at a reasonable price. You're being overcharged for theatrics and little substance here.

I really don’t want to post too much. It feels so secretive - there are so many surprises hidden at the Washhouse. The entrance itself. The menu, the hidden menu, the hidden Japanese bar linked to this. It’s such an adventure. I’m returning again and again, there’s so much more to explore. I can only recommend to visit WASHHOUSE and see where it takes you. Also, the service is more than brilliant! The staff takes this to a next level. The bartending world is in turmoil, and conspiracy theories are emerging... I visited this playful bar last year. There was a washing machine at the entrance. The laundry chute was pushed open, and a staircase went straight up to the second and third floors. Only then did the bar appear. This month’s theme is “Conspiracy Theories.” The wine list lists more than 20 pages of famous classic conspiracy theories. The “Bermuda Triangle” I ordered is made with tequila, coconut milk, and rum. , so sweet, no wonder it causes mysterious disappearances 🤣 The waiter asked me to drop a small black object on the wooden box into the wine glass. He pressed a small button on the side of the wooden box, and the whole drink began to rotate. The boat is missing in the Bermuda Triangle, he explained without blushing and out of breath. Laughing to death. However, the essence of Cocktail is to convince people with wine. No matter how many gimmicks there are, if the temperature is wrong and the proportion is out of proportion, without the sparkle that the alcohol should have when the alcohol collides with each other, it will be just a puddle of wine at best.

The atmosphere was great, the theme was interesting and entertaining, but when it comes to overall price and what to expect, it isn’t worth it. Or it’s worth it for a one-off experience. It’s hard to justify shots that cost over six pounds each and fifteen pound cocktails that were okay. We left early because it didn’t really live up to our expectations. Overall, if you have the money it’s a great experience, but if spending over 20 pounds per person for a cocktail and a shot is too much then this isn’t a place I would recommend.

Average price is around £15 per cocktail, all drinks ordered were well presented but lacked flavour and were heavy on the ice which resulted in poor value for money. Another negative was that the couple next to us also ordered one of the same cocktails (The Simpsons drink), when they came out to serve it was noted that one drink had a mini donut attached on the straw whereas one drink didn’t even though both were the same drink and same price. If I could give it a zero, I would but we will settle at 1 star. First of all, it took them over half an hour to serve us - we were promised by a server that she would come back but she never did. The tables around us had the menu explained to them but we were not served and we had to grab the attention of a poor server who we saw getting ridiculed by her colleague after his dramatic movements caused her to drop a tray. Second of all, the drinks were extremely overpriced - even their classic cocktails were 'mid' to say the least. We paid £55 for four drinks, two of which were not enjoyed (don't bother trying their Long Island, their classic cocktails are charged the same as their 'specialities' and are less impressive). Lastly, after our bad experience, we politely asked for the service charge to be taken off the bill and explained our experience to the server, who then gave us an attitude for this and did not seem apologetic at all. On top of all of this, one of the servers SAT NEXT TO ME, ON MY COAT, whilst obnoxiously explaining the menu to the table next to us. Overall, very terrible experience. Was not happy.

The perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or if your looking to treat yourself to nice night out! It has to be one of my favourite secret bars in Manchester. The menu is thoroughly thought through and makes your experience at The Washhouse even better. The cocktails are wonderfully quirky and completely different to your average bar. We missed out on the secret slide and the bathroom DJ when we there so we’ll definitely be going back for more!

Worth the hype more than anything I’ve seen before. Me and a friend booked a table on a whim and our experience was incredible. We were served by a lovely girl called Courtney who treated us perfectly and helped with any questions we had , I can not fault her service at all. Another staff member called Alex was also a huge help . The atmosphere here was top notch thanks to these two. Both deserving of exceptional praise and deserve thanks for our amazing night .

Wasn’t impressed with this place after hearing so many good reviews. We paid £81 for 5 drinks which is steep even for Manchester City centre. Whilst the conspiracy theory menu is fun I would prefer to have the option of classic cocktails also

Unique, fun spot for some great cocktails. The whole bar is themed around mystery and deception, with conspiracy-themed drinks and hidden doors. The staff is lovely, and everything we ordered tasted (and looked) fab! Don't forget to book!

Went here for my boyfriend’s birthday and all the staff were very very nice, as were the cocktails. We’ve both never had drinks like these and they were all so cool to try out and my boyfriend also got a birthday shot and cake :) definitely coming back !!

I stayed here from Sunday through to Tuesday. It did not rain. I did not hear or see an emergency vehicle. There was a fair bit of banter. I found this hotel's staff brilliantly individuals who work together to give great service when the curtain goes up. Photographs of my room show a clean well thought through offer, outstanding bed and bathroom linen. I love the modern take on the doormans chair , a sort of arm chair with a hood. I have seen a similar one near Exeter at chef Michael Caines manor house hotel. They originated from a Scottish design , I think. Plenty of marble and marble effect in the bathrooms. My room only had a shower, a very effective one too. I am too old to skid about in a bath. I thouroghly enjoyed a cooked breakfast here and Sunday lunch. I can find minor faults in certain aspects, but overall I really enjoyed my stay. It's in a great part of the city, great shopping and many very good places to eat and drink. I also went to Browns bistro round the corner, and to Moose cafe also nearby on York street. Manchester is untouristy on Monday and less so Tuesday. Museums are shut , the hop on hop off buses don't run. There are a few exceptions, the Central Library is open, Science and industry museum is open , though with a limited offer at the moment. On Mondays they both resemble creches with many running riot and having fun. It's a lovely diverse city, and has very much to offer. There are two free city bus routes. 1 and 2. Linking railway stations and the best parts of the city for a visitor And they run 7 days a week. The concierge at the hotel are fun, know their stuff , but perhaps not brilliant at imparting what you need to know. But jolly and kind and helpful. They will have to work on mind reading. I appreciated Nigel's help he is on the apprenticeship scheme. To me this is a perfect boutique hotel, small, private, genuine, authentic quality, with some brilliant dashes and sprinkles of passion and magic. I ate well , slept well, drank well and repeated that over 3 days.

Best Chinese around! Some things better than others, salt and pepper chicken is the best! Lovely family business, friendly staff and quick service. We don't live in the area anymore but we still drive nearly a 10mile round trip to come here as no other Chinese/Cantonese places compare. Highly recommend the s+p chicken, s+p ribs, seaweed, egg fried rice, soft noodles.

You're not going here for food. The food is passable. Seems like microwaved chips style dressed up a bit. Drinks are good, though, and there is quite often live music every visit I've gone (Friday's) very spacious downstairs and a bit cramped upstairs when busy Honeycomb pale ale was nice
