Great atmosphere and the food is lovely, the only complaint I have is the lack of space, which can't be helped sadly. And the prices are not the cheapest. Lovely for a brunch with friends.

My partner and I celebrated our wedding here with our close family and friends (we were a party of 16). Absolutely lovely atmosphere and wonderful customer service! They were so kind throughout the planning process and delivered a lunch/drink service with finesse. Food and drinks were perfect! I would give them more than 5 stars if I could. Many thanks again to the team that served our party; I look forward to visiting again in the future!

gorgeous wooden interior with an assortment of high bar stools, long bench tables, arm chairs and funky decor. The coffee is beautifully smooth, mellow and the perfect temperature. Mugs are also a great size but I always order a large anyway! Lovely fast service and a warm atmosphere great for working and having a catch up ☕️

My wife and came looking for a different place we had found by searching for the nearest coffee place to us. While walking to the deciced place, we found The Wall on the way. It looked really nice and cozy, so we took a chance and come here instead. The coffee is amazing and the staff is very polite and inviting. Being Americans in Scotland, this kind of experience only makes us want to return for more!

Scones were terrible, small, overpriced and stale. Complained and they heated them up and replaced them. This was just an old stale heated scone. Don't visit for anything over than a coffee.

This little un-assuming cafe became our fall back for decent coffee, tea and sandwiches. It is a gourmet oasis in desert of deep fried food. Their cakes and snacks are lovely. As a black coffee drinker, they had the best beans in the city. Super friendly staff.

Absolutely fabulous! Charming, delightfully quaint, and the best hot chocolate ever! The scones were delicious, and the Pumpkin Chai was tasty and flavorful! The service was quick, friendly and charming. A must visit when in Edinburgh! Wish we lived here, we’d be back!

Their salads are incredible, music is amazing, and the cafe has been helpful in my finishing many an essay. As a student, I find myself looking for cafés to really help me work in a fun environment, and The Wall does exactly that.

A smile would have made all the difference. ! They have a lovely menu with loads of attractive things. The Spinach feta pie was nice but the slice with the top burnt filo pastry should not have been served up. Coffee good. Tables clean. Nice vibe.

Whilst undoubtedly expensive it was actually pretty decent by Edinburgh standards - especially considering the beautiful interior. The menu is rather extensive too, offering salads & toasties alongside the typical coffee & cake. 🍰 I had an expertly crafted coffee (with generous crema). I would say though that if you were to visit this wee cafe then opt for a large cup as even this wasn't huge - the smaller portions are perhaps reflecting why the overall cost wasn't as bad as expected as it's less value for money☕

Cane across this place and thought would be lovely for lunch. Ordered 2 toasties and coffees. Way over priced for whst we got. Staff not friendly at all, with no atmosphere in place. Would not recommend

Walked in with a group to have a coffee, found a suitable table but a lady serving said there was no room for us. We walked in very quietly to find a nice spot but was far from a warm welcome!! Very rude staff

We were very disappointed with our visit to this café. There was very little if any heating on a cold day. The metal stools were freezing cold and quite uncomfortable. They did not take cash. The coffee was at best lukewarm and very bitter. The cost was £7.10 for two flat whites. The only redeeming feature was the pleasant staff.

Coffee is expensive for the size you get - taste wasn't anything special. I enjoy searching out independent coffee shops, and after reading reviews of this place I thought it would be ideal. Came expecting something more, left slightly disappointed in the result. The shop looks good but coffee leaves something to be desired.

The Wall Coffee and Design House is an interesting small café. Prices are not cheap and I think my coffee, although nice, was not good enough for the price paid.

My husband is quite fussy on what he eats.. But when we stumbled across The Wall and decided to give it a try he said it was just what he was looking for in a quick bite to eat. The staff were all very welcoming and the menu is to suit most tastes. We both had paninis which were piping hot and delicious.

A very rustic appearance and ambience within. Lunch offerings included sandwiches, toasties, paninis, bagels and a large selection of teas and coffee. I had a toastie that was delivered in a little wooden crate with a small salad and a very generous hot chocolate. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A good place for a bite to eat

Stumbled across this cafe today whilst on visit to Edinburgh. Had a fantastic latte and muffin which they offered to warm for me. Husband had a lovely pot of earl grey tea. Great value for money and served in lovely China with great surroundings. The two staff we interacted with were just lovely and very friendly. Highly recommended.

Went by this place and could not pass up the Walnut Bread in the window. Everything else was great as well. Service was so friendly, and they have a full breakfast that looked great. Highly recommended.

We had a great lunch here with a pot of tea. The menu has good options for vegan and gluten-free. The ingredients were fresh and they serve quality tea. The atmosphere is relaxing. It is somewhat of a small place so groups may have to wait for a table. Great place for couples.

This is a great coffee and lunch stop in the centre of historic Edinburgh. Great location ,just off the Royal Mile. The filled bagels were delicious,the Greek cheese and spinach pies looked very tempting and the coffee was excellent.

In der Cockburn Street auf dem Weg zur Royal Mile gelegen, empfiehlt sich dieses nette Café für eine Verschnaufpause. Nett und gemütlich eingerichtet gibt es sowohl Sandwiches als auch sehr gute selbstgemachte Kuchen und wirklich ausgesprochen guten Kaffee.

It is quite small and doesn't have table service as such, you have to order at the counter, but they deliver. My Partner a small snack of a toasted sandwich and hot chocolate after some extensive museum visits. We tried this once, enjoyed it and returned the following day - it was cheaper and better than the hotel.

We went for breakfast. No table service yet over £12 for 2 coffees and 2 croissants. The coffee was very weak, a “fat spread” was provided instead of butter but the pod of jam was ok. Felt ripped off.

I've become a bit of a regular here (if once a week can be called regular) over the past weeks. It's a great place - interesting decor, great coffee with decent food and snacks. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful. A great vibe and a two minute walk from the High Street / Royal Mile.

Overpriced, unfriendly, pretentious, decent ambiance, uncomfortable stools. I wanted to like this place, but there wasn’t even any “design” to speak of as in the title that I saw. There’s a £5 minimum card charge too, so I had to fork out change for my £3.95 flat white. I didn’t come here for food, but I can’t possibly imagine eating a sandwich out of a wine crate to be practical or good design. Would avoid, I’m afraid.

Came here for a much needed semi-healthy brunch. The coffee machine is so quirky it looks like it’s from a different planet !! We ordered the feta and avocado on toast and the guacamole on toast (sensing a theme?!) and were not disappointed. Although the prices are a little steep, the portions are large and the food quite frankly delicious -hit the spot perfectly.

Located just a short stroll up the hill between the station and the Royal Mile, this is quite a cosy and rustic café that seems to be more geared up for the lunch market than just popping in for a coffee, going on the fact that the cake selection was fairly limited but the chalk boards offered a good selection of panini’s, toasties, bagels, and so on.

Staff was not that welcoming, they did not even say hello or smile. The shop was okay but the chairs a bit uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the coffee was really bad, I did not finish it and the food options expensive.

Stopped here for tea and dessert. Perfect window seat to enjoy tea and brownie ala mode. Enjoyed a delightful conversation with the owner. Perfect place to warm up with hot beverages and dessert!

We popped into the wall to escape the Edinburgh rain and found the store to be warm and welcoming. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the coffee was lovely. Whilst there we had to sit our 4yr old on the high up stools :( as there was nothing lower and as a result of this she spilled her babycino but the staff were amazing despite her being upset they cleaned and cleared the space and made her another for free with a teddy bear foam which helped immensely. The staff were very friendly and even spoke to us when leaving which meant alot. One tip would be a few more lower seats please. Will deffo be back :)

Nice, cozy, yet designer style small coffee/tea/lunch room. Great cakes and other delicious sweets. And the teas are very good.

We visited because the place has a good rating but were quiet disappointed. The decor is well made but you are surrounded by cameras (5 cameras in a very small place, just made us wonder why) and cleaning products (mop, brushes.. left in the way).

It is a very cosy, nice and very warm place. Its coffee and cakes are so delicious. Highly recommended.
