Best of British fish n chips . Really fresh food and good size portions . Also do kebabs , giros, packed full of delicious meat and salad . Always a queue but disappears fast as plenty of lovely staff with a nice smile to take your order

The kebabs are beautiful but please for eight pound for a mixed kebab put plenty on . Times are hard but if you don't keep your customers happy you will lose the custom for the sake of a bit more .

Chicken fried rice............ awful

I was really looking forward to my fish and chip meal today as a treat because it is so expensive these days.I wouldn’t normally leave negative reviews but I can honestly say this was one of the worst takeaway meals I have had The chips were so greasy I couldn’t believe it and the fish was more like chewing a sirloin steak I will say I have eaten here before without problem but most of this ended in the bin I hope the owner reads these comments

Excellent local chippy/chinese takeaway. Can't recommend this place enough. Its been going since the 1980's, and is always busy. That tells you everything you need to know. The mixed and chips is a particular favourite of mine. Brilliant 👍

Hubby has just been in to buy us a chippy tea. I wanted a large sausage, chips, and gravy. When he got home found he was given a small sausage and a small portion of chips but had been charged for a large. I've noticed a decline in this chippy over the last few months. Maybe time to try somewhere different

Visit 4th May, had chicken chow mein which was very poor and expensive compared to other take aways. 1st time ordering Chinese from this take away and will stick to English/kebabs in future

Went last week for karbab must of changed the chilli sauce, 😞

Although the staff were rushed off their feet, great efficient team work, no sign off stress and produced the highest quality food! Great fish and chips.

I only got a cone of chips but they were pretty good, hot and crunchy plus they had a fluffy centre.

Food very bland / Chinese nothing to rate / chips cold and under cooked / waited longer for food even after phone order / sweet and sour only had pineapple in the mix / been going for over 11 years NOW myself and wife are not going to visit again / food going in the bin / sorry but that’s how it was .

Went tonight for a mixed kebab on Naan, and they rant out of pork, so I left. That was the only reason I went to this place. I may as well just gone elsewhere. How does a place run out of a favourite food on a Friday night. I would recommend the place, though

The queues outside this place EVERY single time I go tell the storybetter than I could..best chippy ever possibly surpasses captain cod, service is alwayssss fantastic and the fresh chips and pies are EVEN BETTER. Trust me if it were a little cheaper I'd go there for dinner every flipping night🤣❣️

Ordered fish and chips for my 92 Yr old Dad, far too much for him and cost £8.70 so I shared it with him. Tasted really nice though, not too greasy and fish was crispy.

If you decide to go to this place then phone your order. I waited ages in the queue to get served for a kebab and they were taking phone orders and making them a priority while I was waiting in the shop. By the time they filled all the phone orders and got around to serving me, there was nothing left and I left empty handed. Bad customer service in my eyes and they would rather prioritise customers sat at home doing nothing than the people who get up and go to the actual shop and waste time waiting. Won’t be going back again. Didn’t taste the food and now I never will.

Traveled from Bolton to try this place after great reviews but unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype. Staff are great and on point but the kebab was meh! Chips are proper chippy chips and the garlic sauce didn't taste of garlic.

The food was ok though the BBQ pulled pork kebab was slightly to salty for me but chicken tikka kebab was nice.

A great local chippy, serving traditional food, kebabs, and Chinese meals. All good quality at reasonable prices. Often busy but never have to wait very long. Nice staff.

Oh dear £7.30p for a Chicken tikka kebab which took a very worrying one minute to make even with making the Nan which is obviously pitta, chicken tikka take at least 10-15 minutes to make, with chips I paid £9.80p and the chips were all floppy / mushey. I ate about a third of the kebab and only because I was hungry and now I feel like I'm going to be sick. I think I will contact Trading standards because the chicken was obviously pre-made, needless to say I will not be back and I was tempted to go back for a refund but I hate confrontation!!!

Absolutely lovely food! Got the Chinese chicken kebab, and it was well worth it. Proper chippy chips, and the curry and gravy are lovely too. Highly recommended.

Tried this place for the first time a couple of days ago, my son wanted to go. Was not disappointed. Super efficient and friendly staff, very tasty food. Extremely busy place, and quite small inside, but put our order in and less than 10 minutes later we were back in the car. Fair price for very good food, will def be going back.

I got chips on a barm with barbecue sauce the sauce, it was like water. Never again would I get that again it ruined my chip barm. Had to throw it away. Manchester Rd chippy is a much better chippy in my eyes from now on

The best chippy in Walkden, don’t believe anyone who tells you otherwise (even my other reviews ;) ) - I haven’t reviewed any other chippy in Walkden haha. Honestly 5 stars maybe an understatement the chippy is smashing and the kebabs to die for!

Food spot on kebabs, burgers, fish and chips, chinese the lot. Friendly polite staff been going here for 15 years. They even sell brownies and tango ice blasts now too.

chicken omelette and chips special fried rice .rotten chips covered and tased of oil put them in the bin was highly recommended £20 as well down the drain avoid not good at all

This place is THE go to place for great food. Staff are superb and really pleasant. The kebabs are the best around without a doubt. The fish is battered and cooked just right. Overall it is a knock out take away. Highly recommend it.

I'm a regular customer to this well run fish 'n' chip/kebab/Chinese takeaway. Extensive menu, efficient staff, usually quick service, but one big criticism is on my last visit, customers were trying their best to comply with Covid guidelines, by wearing masks, keeping a safe distance, when one of the supervisors appeared, & shouted from inside the premises, there was no need to do so, & invited us inside. Unfortunately, most of those queuing did so, but there were a few who continued to comply with the latest Covid prevention advice. Another minus point, is that there wasn't any hand sanitiser provided for customers. Likewise, although customers can purchase food/drink by contactless bank card, the service is highlighted for the chippy's customers.

Best chippy only place I will order a kebab I had one last week not had one for ages still the best I enjoyed it so much. The staff are excellent and very efficient. I hope to be calling again soon.

Visited several times in the past 2 weeks very disappointed to see that no customers were waring face masks as per the government’s guide lines this includes a N.H.S worker that went in her uniform last week. There was no sign on the window asking customers to ware masks. Just a sign asking customers to social distance. Wants sorting out it’s law to ware a mask when entering any sort of shop.
