Went for a special breakfast on Christmas Eve which was all in all, an absolute disgrace! Opted for the buffet… however after tasting the granola (which is served with some sort of yogurt) I was nearly sick! It was clearly off. I quickly tried to wash it down with some smoothie but that was also off!! The chef confirmed the food was off yet there was no urgency to clear the spoiled food from the buffet table! I wasn’t offered an apology never mind a discount! It wasn’t booked in my name and this review is 100% genuine. The chef tasted and confirmed the food was off and the food was eventually removed.

Meal for two at 5.30pm this evening with my mum. I live in Southport not far from the Vincent and been here before. Food is a good standard And as a place to sit the Vincent cafe is quite nice. What lets down the whole experience is the quality of service from the staff. They are just not trained to a high enough standard to give the required level of service. The service charge on the bill is therefore not warranted and if I was paying the bill myself for this meal I would have refused the to pay the service charge on principle. Note to management : train your waiting staff to be more attentive and be more aware of customers needs during their meal. Also don’t just give some ‘Generic’ bs corporate reply to this review as you have with many others as it just does not wash when potential customers read you replying in such a manner. Just do better !! UPDATE : 15.01.25 Went in for Breakfast this morning, as a non-resident. Had excellent service from Ali and the team and a delicious full breakfast with coffee refills for a very reasonable price. Big improvement on my first evening meal experience above. Extra star given. Walk-in Breakfast highly recommended.

Hi , stayed for one night on the off chance and it was perfect , dined in the restaurant and the food was amazing, the breakfast in the morning was delicious all freshly cooked , all the staff from reception to dining room were so efficient and polite , couldn’t fault it in any way and would highly recommend it in every way 🤩

Went there for dinner on Christmas eve with my in-laws, this is somewhere they've been having Christmas eve dinner for over 15 years, so I was very excited to see what the fuss was about. They had reserved our table months in advance for 7:30pm, when we arrived we were told our table wasn't ready yet, and that we should go to the bar for a drink first. It got to 8:15, before we went to chase the manager, only to find that the table was ready at 8pm but no one had come to get us. Ridiculous behaviour, and by then we were starving. Once seated, it was gone 9:30 until our starters arrived, 2 hours after our original booking. The squid wasn't cooked properly, they took it off the bill in the end. In fairness the rest of the meal was very tasty. Definitely a 4 out of 5 for food. The service, terrible. The girl serving us threw our cutlery at us, literally. And when the food was being served they leant over us and our plates to put the food down, that's disgusting behaviour in a proper restaurant. Overall, a bad experience, waiting 45mins to be sat at our table, not having food served for soo long, having a starter served uncooked and over all poor service by inexperienced staff. Had this been a "cheap" restaurant I would have been so disappointed, but it's not. I could see that my in-laws felt letdown and embarrassed about the service as it was the first time I had visited the restaurant. Hopefully the service will be better next year if we come back.

Had the most amazing stay recently. My husband and I where delighted that we where surprisingly upgraded to a junior suite . Staff are so friendly and welcoming. Hotel and room spotless. Breakfast was delicious. Will be booking again soon for my birthday.

Went in to get an Espresso Martini for my husband's birthday... £11.50 for a drink that's on tap. We went down the road to The Grand and they made them for £10 and fresh too.

Came here for drinks and food. Dissapointing served Guinness in a can, not even surcharge! Bar area nice though. Had bar snacks in restaurant which were delicious! And had a lovely coffee. Recommend coming here if in Southport, for a classy hotel.

We stayed in the penthouse. Room was lovely apart from it wasn't clean. Lady on the desk was lovely but the other man we spoke to wasn't helpful and was rude. After that I wouldn't stay again.

To be honest I was underwhelmed and am unlikely to visit again. The hotel itself is well located, very smart and stylish but a few things, and service lets them down. - no bottled water in the rooms - no simple snacks like bits of crisps in the bar, although they do have a mini bites menu. - I found my room quite dark (even with all the various lamps on) and the corridors are disconcertingly dark and gloomy OMO - My fish and chips were average at best, soggy batter and under cooked chips and was left on the counter for 5 mins whilst the staff were oblivious as they chatted amongst themselves, in the end I had to point out that my main had been sat there and could they bring it the table. They credited the meal which was appreciated, but thats not really the point. Service at breakfast was just as bad, I was not told I had to order eggs separately and the and the sausages were overcooked and dry - so again they did not charge me, but I would rather have paid and been able to enjoy a good full English. To their credit they did address the service issues at the time I raised them, but it certainly took the end off my stay.

Just enjoyed a weekend in this hotel. The room was ok and clean. The scatter cushions were not to standard, one even having a large stain covering most of it, others were torn. I would have appreciated fruit teas and coffee bags in the room. The rooms are dark and the corridors have very dim lighting. I feel that when using the cocktail bar residents should have to show the room card and sign for drinks. Someone had used our room number and enjoyed nearly £200.00 of drinks. We were informed of this as leaving when reception wanted to take card payment from us. Fortunately the member of staff on duty understood and removed the payment from our account. We had enjoyed two drinks from the bar and paid for those. Something for the hotel to possibly look into. Breakfast was a good choice and staff welcoming. Just a small point if staff are stroking guests dogs and allowing the dog to lick their hands, please, please wash your hands before serving guests. Hygiene. Noticed this twice. We would stay again as location to Southport was second to non. Everything on the doorstep. Car valet too expensive at £20.00 per night. Parking in town is available for £6.00 per 24 hours, two minutes walk from hotel. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Very clean hotel, and quiet, facilities were a good standard. Was booked as a treat for my birthday. The older male receptionist who does valet parking is outspoken and moans a lot about his job and other staff. Not very professional at all in front of customers. Not want I want to be hearing on my holidays.

Stayed in a J suite . Asked to leave £50 on arrival if card £100 pounds if cash incase we damage anything. Plus £1 to check our account On first sight fabulous, big nice decor. Then tea and coffee tray behind a black out curtain with no light with a smashed mirror because of kettle, couldn't have coffee because couldn't see control. No mirror for ladies to do hair and makeup. Arm chair thread bare. For the money should be perfect.

The staff were good. The soup was delicious. However, the crusty bread turned out to be a miniature loaf that had been in the freezer and not defrosted properly. We did complain to the waitress but nothing happened?.

I stayed in this hotel with my family for two days. I wanted to share my experience with you.when I do check in they told me that I have to pay 100 paunts deposit and when you do check out you will get your money and I expect that and I paid 100 paunts deposit one month past still I didn’t get any money I called them three times Someone saying that the money will come to my account5 working days , some saying that money is pending that I need to contact with my bank, today she was saying that they didn’t get any deposits it’s not clear what they are doing cheap service cheap hotel.

I held a surprise 30th Birthday Party for my partner at the hotel and can not explain how happy i am with the service received. The night was a great hit. The Events Manager, Jolene, couldn't have been more helpful throughout the process and the staff on the night were amazing, kind and thoughtful. Wouldn't think twice about hosting another event here.

Such a lovely place to have a coffee! We’ve been going for a couple of years now, after a long work with our big boy Rudo. The coffe is very nice, I would recommend also to get the malteser blondie! The staff is truly amazing and polite, thanks to all of you 💗

**Edit - further to Ego's reply on this review asking me to email them, I did send a polite email, giving them a right to reply privately, they never got back to me**Visited 20/01/25 as a group of 5. Unfortunately we seemed to be forgotten about in a corner and I had to go and ask a waitress to come over after almost 20 minutes so we could get drinks. When we tryed to order food, 3 out of the 5 chosen meals were not available, which we were not warned of, and this was 5:30pm ish. Then one of our 5 deserts didnt arrive and when I managed to flag a waitress down we were told they didnt have that either. I had a 50% off mains / kids meal voucher but having stupidly paid without fully looking at the bill I have found they only took it off 3 of the 5 meals. The food is always great here, and I will hopefully come back if I can convince other family members to try again, but this occasion was not the best experience sadly.
