Had an amazing lunch for a special celebration and the staff were so welcoming. Delicious pizzas and very dog friendly. Visited the upstairs gallery adjacent to the restaurant which sold unique and well crafted items. Both venues well worth a visit.

We stayed in a cottage just outside the village for a week and made this our regular stop for coffee every morning and later on came back to use the bar area for a couple of beers before heading back to the cottage. We received a very friendly welcome from the owners and local customers. The shop is also very well stocked from fresh bread to wine. Can’t recommend too highly.

Very small shop selling very limited items BUT has a bar with a couple of outside tables to the rear - well worth a visit if a busy pub is not your scene.

When staying in the village on holiday we always buy the delicious home baked bread from the store. This year we noticed they do pizzas on both a Friday and Saturday, they have a little bistro at the back of the shop which you can eat in or takeaway. Tonight we had a pizza and some bbq ribs to takeout and they were absolutely delicious. The pizza was lovely and was one of the nicest we had had in a long time. What a little gem this place. We will definitely be back .

My partner and I were staying in a log cabin about 6 miles east of Llansteffan, going on long walks, and had spent the morning trekking over to the village, hoping to get some lunch on our arrival. We got there to find most places shut, the village itself a ghost town of second homes out of season. Just as we were about to give up hope we popped into the Village Stores to see if they sold food, expecting it to be a corner shop that might do sandwiches, and found instead an extensive menu including gluten free options and a bar room/cafe area in which to eat. Minutes later I was eating one of the two best GF pizzas I've ever had (the other was in London!). The setting is friendly and no frills (though there is a licensed bar) so if you're looking for great food and a warm welcome, I can thoroughly recommend it.

Sorry I haven't posted earlier, but we visited Llansteffan late summer 2020 when the coronavirus regulations in Wales allowed takeaways and outside seating. It was a lovely day and we began by having a walk around this very attractive village, and stopped at Siop y Pentref, the village stores, to sit outside with a pleasant morning coffee and cake. We then went on to visit the castle and walk part of the coastal path. Llansteffan is well worth a visit.

We were visitors to Llansteffan and we visited the shop on our first night to get some basics: the shop does stock most basics, but the bread which I believe is locally-baked, is superb. The owner was most helpful: we had come to Llansteffan to seek more information on ancestors who lived there, and one lived in Cloth Hall only a couple of doors from the shop. We didn't eat in the shop's little cafe so can't comment. Bear in mind that for greater choice you have to go to Carmarthen. A most useful little local shop.

Most reviewers mention the grocery items but seem to have overlooked the food...we had a GREAT dinner (handmade pizza) and breakfast (Full English). Everything was made fresh along with house made bread. Much more than a food shop. They also have a full bar. Charming local spot run by a lovely couple, Sarah and Jaimie. Worth a stop when you’re in the neighborhood. 😊

It has very short opening times and sells only the very basics, so do not rely on it if you are self catering. Better to shop at Tesco in Camarthen then use the village store to top up with bread and milk etc.

We had a fabulous meal accompanied by 60s music. The ambience was great as was the food and service. Unfortunately , when we tried to pay we were advised the card machine was not working and sent to the pub up the road for cash back. They were unhappy but thankfully obliged with 2 lots of cash including a fee. This fee was deducted from the bill but it soured the evening for us. Would go back again but ensure we had enough cash in hand.

This is a great place for a big breakfast to set you up (or brunch when we called). 2 bacon, 3 sausages, 2 eggs, mushrooms, potatoes, tomatoes, baked beans, fresh sliced bread, fresh coffee, £6.50. Well worth it and it really did set us up for the day. The decor is quirky, with a ton of historic black and white pictures mixed in with bronze kiwis, shoe phones, telephone box storage, etc. Take a walk up to the castle afterwards to justify it a little! There are a few souvenir items available at the front of the shop along with grocery items. The bathroom is lovely and clean, something I always consider at an eatery. Service was friendly, and there are tables outside if the weather is nice.

We happened across the Village Stores after a day trip out to the area. We had a super lunch of proper cheese and ham toasties and a big pot of tea to share plus a good natter with the owners. A big "thank you ladies" and we hope to see you again.Andrea x

Hungry, and with an hour to kill before a meeting I stumbled across this little gem. When I asked for a cup of tea and a something to eat, I was half expecting to be offered a cold pasty or the like. Instead I was given a comprehensive menu with a good choice of freshly made sandwiches and baguettes. I opted for an egg mayo sandwich which, when it appeared, was so fresh, the egg was still warm. The accompanying salad was nice and crisp and fresh and the cup of tea - just what I needed. The staff were really pleasant and offered me a newspaper to read while I waited. To be honest, I was content just to sit there at the outside table, bask in the sun and enjoy the moment!

Spending a few relaxing days in Llansteffan and in need of a cup of coffee we called into the Village stores. It was like stepping back in time and a completely delightful experience. It was obviously a store where villagers gathered for a bit of a chat. A lovely lady made us so welcome and was serving in the shop area and serving and cooking in the cafe. Spotlessly clean with quaint furnishing we had to wait a while, which was no problem as we soaked up the atmosphere. Our wait was worth it with as we had really delicious chicken panini s and coffee which filled us up for hours. After saying we were there for a few days relaxing and walking we were presented with information on were to go and what do. Lovely little store and personal attention.

Not only is it a shop/post office/gallery/and craft shop but it has the quaintest eating area at the back. Totally eclectic in taste, comfy and a great place to chill out. Beers are cheap, coffee was excellent, cakes looked amazing. The staff could not do enough for us and were so friendly. Thanks Ladies for trying to help me find my passport (at home where it should have been)This place seems to be the heart of the community and they can't do enough to promote the town. If you like a nice beef steak then look no further! The chef buys his meat from a small Swansea butcher and it’s both great quality and well cooked at an amazingly low price! It’s a pub as well as a restaurant so whether you are looking to eat or just have a beer, it’s great! The only downside is that Doombar is the only ale they keep, you would expect a local welsh beer.

We recently booked and visited this establishment for a Sunday roast / 93rd birthday party, (not me by the way!) as we were staying locally for the weekend. Well what can I say!!, as soon as I arrived, the outside looked like someone’s house in this tiny, yet beautiful village, however once over the threshold it became apparent how large and beautiful the inside of this pub was, even Doctor Who would’ve been impressed with this tardis! I and another family member were greeted by a warm and friendly faced landlady, and she was a lady! Asked where we were from and made us feel incredibly welcome, then she let herself down by undercharging us for our pints £4.50 each!! At home in Wiltshire I pay £6.50 for the very same pint. We were shown to our own large table (11 people), set on our own. This restaurant was impeccable. The food was perfect with some difficult family members dietary requirements, even the chef came to the table which turned out to be the landlord, what a nice guy he was too. This place was so good, I felt only obliged to buy the landlord and landlady a drink to say thank you for looking after us. After giving the 93-year-old the bumps to celebrate, we left happy and fulfilled. Thank you guys!
