The Village Plaice Ashland in Milton Keynes

We ordered chippy for our local chippy in ashland. We ordered onion rings, small chips, cheesy chips, saveloy, 2 plain sausages, 2 battered sausages and some scampi. Absolutely shocked - found a hair in the cheesy chips. Disgusting.

Had a very nice Fish and Chips today, they even offered me a cheaper deal for what I asked for. Excellent fish and will definitely be ordering again soon.

Chips were hard and extensive dry.

I didn’t get the cranberry sauce with my crumbed brie!!!

Nice food, but this is shocking for a large portion of chips.

Ordered cod and chips for delivery on Deliveroo. Only the cod turned up….no chips. When I rang The village plaice they said there is nothing they can do!! Blamed it on a new member of staff… won’t be using them again!!

We stopped off on our way home at this chip shop. The food we ordered was cooked fresh and was very nice and great value for money on there meal deal. The staff were very polite and the young lad and lady was very friendly and chatty will be coming back to this chip shop from now on.

Ordered to hospital address for daughter clearly in notes and changed on delivery details driver delivered to home address!!! Even though I spoke with her through ring doorbell explaining she was at wrong address and she agreed would bring to correct one also spoke with restaurant and they told us to contact yourselves

Not our closest chippy but we prefer going a little further to get excellent quality fish and chips. My son absolutely rates the cod! Amazing food, amazing service. This is now our regular chip shop and even better that it has a 5 star hygiene rating!

Lovely staff and great food. They also do lots of different things so if you aren't feeling a regular fish and chips order they also have wraps that are amazing. I had the cod wrap recently I'm def getting that again and their curry sauce is so nice I could eat it with everything.

chips and fish were cold and not very nice. obviously heated up and fish was mostly batter with no fish inside. the mushy peas were so dry they were a solid mass inside the tub. Needless to say I didn't bother even trying them they went straight in the bin. It used to be nice from here but I'll never order again. I'd been fasting for 2 days and was so hungry but this was a disaster.

This is the worst fish and chips I have had. The chips were overcooked and dry. The fish was hard , cold and dried out. Like it has been left there for a while. Battered sausage wasnt very battered and was cold and hard. Definitely won't be ordering from here again. Has gone massively downhill. 2nd time in a row I have had a bad order. Gave benefit of the doubt on the 1st order.

Really poor quality chips. Overcooked. 2nd time this has happened when ordering for delivery. Don't seem to have same issue when collecting food

Well we thought we would give them a go, when we got our order the chip's was cold and they seemed to be reheated, chip's was hard, everything else was ok, we won't be ordering from them ever.

It was my first visit after a recommendation from a family member. On entering I was greeted by a young lady, who was very welcoming and just a joy to chat with. She recognised it was my first visit and told me all about the services they provide, Eg : cook fish to order so a small wait time. The shop was spotlessly clean and I noticed the young man wash his hands before he took on a task of cooking more chips. I didn't get the young ladies name, but she was amazing as were the Cod and chips. I will be returning. Thank you

Lovely food and polite delivery man

Ordered online for pick up. I was five minutes early and order had already been put together and placed on top of the fryer cabinet to keep warm. Trouble with that is you don't know how long it's been sitting there. Got home and the chips were hot, but they were very soggy and in my opinion very pale and insipid looking. I think that was due to them being placed in wrapping and then a bag and sitting there for god knows how long. But that didn't seem to help the chicken I ordered which was barely luke warm, tasty, but not hot. I don't mind waiting for orders to be cooked, so next time I won't order before and see how they taste then. Our bill came to £14 for 2 meals, for that price i'd expect better.

Bacon and cheese loaded chips would've been nice if wasn't drenched in BBQ sauce 🤮 No mentioning of BBQ sauce on the menu, didn't ask for it either, only found out when I got home and started to eat, well, 2 bites. Shouldn't just presume that everyone likes BBQ sauce, just ask people if they want any. I'm frustrated, wasted my time driving there, wasted my money and wasted food. Dinner is completely ruined 🤬

Great fish and chips.Arrived hot and quickly. Best fish and chips I have had at MK. Sausage tasted like a real sausage which isn’t always the case at chip shops. I have had several orders from here and been happy every time

Decided to have a treat of fish and chips.Ordered large fish and chips X2. Also kids meal and adults burger. The fish was a joke,batter so hard we couldn't eat it, pulled the batter of and hardly and cod.If that was a large cod I would hate to see regular size. The chips were ok, found a few hard ones as did my grandaughter in her kids meal. Only went there as I was told under new management but won't be returning.

Ordered on just eat. Well.packaged and tasty! Fish, chicken, chips, curry sauce and milkshakes all really good.

First time ordering from this shop, the wide variety of food is incredible and they had a fair few meal deals on the UberEats app. The portion sizes were really good for the price and the curry sauce was delicious! Very good value and will definitely become my new go to chippy!

I haven’t had such crispy battered fish since moving to Milton Keynes. Recommend your food. Cherry on the cake was that everything was packed in paper and cardboard boxes. Set the bar up for other chippies out there.

Nice fish and chips quite large still hot when I got home, makes a change from other places. Sausages are good as well, friendly staff excellent customer service. Would recommend you give it a go if you like fish and chips.

Chips were dry and had a peculiar chemical taste, restaurant did not give driver my instructions and as a result my food was taken to another address.

Lovely little fish and chip shop, huge portions. Massive menusm with lots of extras, I recommend the chilli con carne on chips. Also the currie sauce is amazing

Food was awful, very dry and threw it all in the bin. Very disappointed. Unfortunately a complete waste of money. I would definitely not order from here again.

Brilliant food a d piping hot. Won't go anywhere else.

I was very disappointed with the quality of food. I had been when it was Moores and the food was outstanding. This is my local chippy but not one I will be using again sadly. The chips were floppy and soggy and the saveloy was burned on its base having been sat for god knows how long in the warmer. It didn’t taste very nice and kept repeating on me which made the whole experience worse.

Delivery order via Deliveroo. 25/11/22. Arrived hot, complete, and in time specified. Fish and chips was spot on for 8.50, good portion size the chips looked lush, lemon wedge was a nice touch 👍🏻 (was for a friend). Burger patty was a bit cheap/burger van quality type, but love that you use REAL back bacon and chunky salad! The Brie and Cranberry dip is is to die for! (They got eaten before i took pics! 🐷 Chilli cheese bites, lush! Thankyou!

Mushy Chips, unseasoned, oily and dry chicken. Fish was so plain and unseasoned. Worst Fish and Chips in MK If not the world. So overpriced and had little portions. Never coming back again. 0.1 out of 10.

What happened to the best chippy in mk, now rated worst, one large portion of chips every single chip rock hard, can't even chew them , Sad but change of ownership has not worked with this chippy , Find another one I guess !

Staff management or owners rude and arrogant seem to think there better than customers. Food was ok nothing great i suggest going to Moores fish and chips much better.

Best place for fish and chips 🍟

Used to be the best place to buy fish and chips. Last few times not nice chips and food was Luke warm and I only live 4 mins away. They make the sauce and peas and beans up when you pay and they are cold by time the food is served. Will be giving this a miss in future fed up with reheating it. Had mentioned this to them before but don’t seem to make any difference.

Good chippy but it's a shame these 3rd party delivery companies don't care about another company's reputation though a good on the lady telling one of them off the other week 🙂🤘

The bag the food came in smelt mouldy which made the food taste awful! Deliveroo offered a refund £3 from our £17 order. Won’t be eating from here again.

Never used this chip shop before as usually go oxley Park. I ordered through uber. I had rock and chips. It wasn't very nice and definitely not how I remembered rock to be. The battery fell off. The fish was mainly brown always thought rock was white fish. Didn't taste very nice. Even the dogs turned there noses up at the fish. Won't be going there again
