The Village Chippy in East Renfrewshire

Dined in The Village Fish Bar tonight, not for the first time. A lovely friendly atmosphere when we arrived when shown to our table. Food was delicious - macaroni cheese was amazing, scampi got the thumbs too - grandson’s sausage supper went down a treat, all finished off with desserts - staff attentive, pleasant & friendly. An all round enjoyable dining out experience 👍🏻

Just ordered a large fish supper (2 pieces of haddock). The food unfortunately arrived cold (hence the oven tray) not a huge deal in itself as I like my food piping hot. Fish was good, but chips very underwhelming. Lots of brown discoloured ones. When ordered through their website this came to over £15 once all fees were added. Seems like a lot for what it is.

The penne contadina was delicious! It was freshly prepared and served with the usual friendly service.

The service is first class and food is good and very hot 👍😋

2nd time dinning in. 1st time dinning in and having a wine. Fabulous place lovely friendly staff. Fabulous reasonably priced food. 🥰

A vast improvement on the previous management. We no longer have to go to Barrhead for fish & chips.

Go here once a week with my mum for dinner. Food is always spot on amd the staff are brilliant. Best chippy about barrhead and Neilston by far.

Thoroughly enjoyed a 2 x large special fish and chip supers tonight, along with tartar and curry sauce. 1st visit and have to say one of the best I have tasted in a long, long time. Not only that, the staff were very attentive and friendly. Nice to see service with a smile. Great job and due to this I'd highly recommend to fitness and family. 5 stars from me!

No be back ordered a small fish super and a normal fish super for a delivery, took well over a hour than expected called the shop and was told,its just left the shop,when it arrived was stone cold ,very dissatisfied

Newly refurbished, looks fresh and contemporary. This is a lovely family run place, always guaranteed a warm welcome and tasty food.

Food was good .order was phoned in and it was made up when we arrived.

Enough is enough, I've previously praised this chippy but my recent delivery orders have been in excess of an hour later then the time stated on their website. Tonights order was not only late but the fish supper was shocking, one slice of fish cut into two. After I Called to talk to manager or owner only be dismissed And told that's what was ordered and if I didn't like it they'd send driver back and refund my money. Great customer service, not.

Nice fresh fried fish and good chips. Chips that were crisp and not a soggy lump. One thing that 100% condemns a chippy for me is soggy chips, so we'll done the village chippy.

Just had a delivery of 2 fish suppers, Arrived a little earlier than expected but we were glad about that. Both fish suppers were hot and the batter was a golden crisp. A large portion of chips (few too many really) and the fish were nice white flakes. Absolutely enjoyed our meals.

Nearly 3 hours for a delivery, phoned up and it was like i was a hassle to them. Would avoid as they’re hopeless.

Friendly service good quality food also does fast delivery too.

Excellent chip shop. We normally have special fish in panko breadcrumbs and its amazing. Pizzas are also so good! Very busy shop so can have a wait sometimes but staff are friendly and it's worth the wait!

Very hit or Miss. Had One Fine dish but 3 not great supers, Chips have been poor with more bad bits than good, fish soggy, thin batter. I now have to go to Barrhead for my chips, shame as I would rather buy local

Wife got 6 frites and they were cooked and the food is grezy don't like it

Just arrived on holiday so needed a quick bite to eat this was the closest place.Nice clean chippy you can sit in or takeaway, good service, normal prices but the food wasnt the best.The fish batter was soggy the chips were soggy smoked sausage was good.

This chippy has improved immeasurably since reopening last year. The fish is much better, oil new, fresh and clean.
