Lovely meal from the village chippy

Ordered at 6:45 and it was delivered at 9.20 and it was cold. No apology or explanation.

Delivery was late and food arrived cold

food was ordered at 18:10 due between 19:20 and 19:40, I rang the resturaunt at 19:33 as there had been no update on the app and they said my rood was ready hut waiting on the driver, just eat put it as delivered at 19:47 but it wasn't delivered until 19:58 and the food is stone cold and chips aren't cooked properly anyway very disappointing.

what can I say the food is absolutely gorgeous, we get all excited wen the food is on it's way ,they are our local takeaway ,we've been in the takeaway ourselves & it's so clean we won't go anywhere else 10☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

Terrible greecy and soggy and wrong cause couldn’t eat it so unhappy

Chips were awful, loads of black bits in most of the chips, not appetising at all (chucked 90% of them away)

First time using The Village chippy, was a bit sceptical after reading some poor reviews so I'd put off many times. glad I did finally order though as I found the service great , all food arrived on time, well packaged and piping hot. the chips were lovely and fresh and well cooked, although menu says it's a small portion it was actually rather large. the donner meat and salad was spot on, nice portion size. battered sausage, scollop and saveloy all nicely cooked. will definitely use again 👌😋

The half pounder burgers are top quality

We used the cafe to cater for my Mum's 90th birthday tea. The food was exceptional, the presentation was of a very high standard and the quality was excellent. The food was delivered to my home in servable presentation boxes at no addition cost . The standards at the cafe are of a very high standard all be it a coffee and toasties or a buffet for ten people. I can not thank the team at the cafe enough for helping to make Mum's birthday one to remember. Thank you Linda

Ordered at 5.40 delivery supposed to be 6.25 delivery was then changed to 6.55 to 7.15 due to running late didn't come till 7.35 then not happy as ordered 2 x large kebabs and recieved 2 x medium kebabs to top it all chicken was stone cold not ordering from here again sorry

the food was horrible. absolutely vile. the chips were undercooked. stone cold. the kebab hadn’t been shredded as if they couldn’t be arsed

A go to for a chippy delivery. Hot, fresh and good quality. Love the kebab and the chilli from here. Highly recommend.

Disappointed that we order a meal deal drink never comes! Beans were 2 tea spoons if you are lucky. It’s really disappointing especially due to the price

The food was good even though it was late. It would have been nice if the driver would have apologised. The normal delivery driver is always early, very kind and friendly.

The food was not as good as normal. I rang the shop to ask where my food was and was told that he was just leaving this was when it was already 20minutes late. A bit disappointed as not the usual standard.

Food was slightly after the advised time. But driver was friendly and food was really tasty. Chips were so much better than when we have ordered before lots of food in portions only grumble no salt!!

Delivery ok but food was not hot chips luke warn and kebab meat literally cold

arrived on time but cod very dry and both fish and chips luke warm had to reheat in microwave

dont want to be a hater but ive been here twice and the breakfast is bang average at very best, if youre looking for a full english i'd go somewhere else. Also guys if youre reading this please invest in proper ketchup and brown sauce from reputable brands! The brown sauce you use is cheap and ruins the meal

Delivery was an hour and a half late, consequently the food was luke warm and past its best. I had to chase the order, I was not kept up to date with delivery times. Driver didn’t acknowledge the lateness or offer an apology. Will not order from here ever again. Very disappointing.

This used to be a great chippy and the food was rarely more than a few minutes late. tonight it was almost two hours late. No apology or excuse was given by the driver. When I tried to get a slight refund from Just Eat, I was informed that traffic had been very heavy. My daughter had checked the traffic situation and it was mostly clear. The food was cold and not up to the standard I have come to expect from the Village Chippy. We were all very disappointed and, obviously, hungry.

Curry sauce was way to thick and could eat it and chips tasted horrible and way too hard

Not had a takeaway in a few weeks, so glad we decided to order one, the chicken kebab was delicious, and my other half really enjoyed his fish & chips.

The food was reasonable. The order was delivered on time and the driver was very pleasant.

Ordered a chicken burger meal and all that came was the actual burger, no fries. The chicken kebab and naan bread tasted old like it wasn’t fresh. Won’t be ordering again

Long delivery time, but to be fair, we did have a MASSIVE order which did arrive hot and there was loads of food. All of it was cooked superbly. We highly recommend the Village Chippy and I wouldn't hesitate to order again. Lovely and helpful staff too. Thanks so much to the team. 😃🤩😃

Majority of meal was nice but cod was tasteless and watery, and chicken fillet was burnt.

First time ordering from here and have definitely found our new go to chippy. Good portion sizes, came piping hot and really good quality food.

It’s always a long delivery time but is also often late. I’ve not ordered for a while because of this. Chips did not seem properly cooked. Rest was fine.

Think I have just found my favourite chip shop, lovely food, curry sauce is thick not watery and lumpy. Pineapple fritters too. Brilliant all round .

Unfortunately the chips were sold as large which they certainly wasn't. The chips themselves were poor quality with many having black eyed Which had to be thrown away. The sausage was dry And kebab meat was poor. wouldn't purchase again.

Chips luke warm and yet I live just down the road. Chicken bites were overcooked and soggy and curry sauce extremely watery. I won't order from here again sorry

That is the worst tasting kebab meat I have EVER tasted. The red chicken stuff tasted of nothing but cumin, the brown stuff tasted like some sort of medicinal syrup and the donner meat, whilst not the worst I've ever had certainly wasn't the best. 1000% wouldn't waste my money a second time on such a pile of badly made tripe, although I suspect tripe would taste better 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

Delicious food delivered by a very friendly driver. Plenty of chicken in the wraps, fresh salad and piping hot chips. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would definitely recommend The Village Chippy.

I love the food from this restaurant but the last four times I've ordered from them the order has been about half an hour late. Tonight it was 55 minutes late, I think that is unacceptable. I phoned half an hour after the food was due and was told that they were very busy and the food was with the driver, no apology. The driver is always polite and used to be punctual. The restaurant must know they will be busy on Fridays, take on more staff or don't take so many delivery orders that you cannot honour.

Terrible terrible food. Made us poorly. Wouldn't give to my dog.

Food was excellent as always, but got a little heart shaped potato scallop and it was the sweetest thing ever. Really made my night.

The chips were not great, lot of black and they had a nasty taste almost like fish to them. I hardly ate any. I’ve had a few takeaways from here because I love the chicken but I don’t think I will order again.

Not long just moved in and we didn’t want to cook, but the food was gorgeous and very hot best chippy we have had ☺️☺️

Spoke to staff who was rude and not interested in my concerns regarding the food. Placed order and was told delivery would be between 21.40 to 22.00 but arrived 45 minutes earlier, questioned this with the driver who said that was a rough guide and I should of requested a time because they don’t see time chosen when placing order. Overall poor service

Kebab meat and the fish were very dry, probably because it was quite a late order. We have previously been very pleased with the food from the Village Chippy but this time not so good. The chips were good a d plenty of them but the Kebabs and fish not good I'm afraid

Didn't receive order 2 and half hours after ordering called 4 times they didn't answer the phone. Had to reorder from a different place through a separate app. Disappointed

I rang the restaurant after about 20 mins to be told they had to remake the order as a mistake had been made but it still took another 15 mins to arrive. It felt warm but it was cold before I was half way through eating it. The chicken and pineapple were ok but the rest was awful.

All good . a great burger. And fish was good to.

Burger meal polystyrene had melted on to my chips from container. salad (lettuce)was not fresh

I am not someone to complain as I work in takeaway and saw this the driver was drinking, sliced blood on his hand and went to our neighbours but didn't bother to check our house next door and went to go off until My mother stopped him, this is actually appalling I would never do this to anyone
