Good place to watch football and a great selection of beers. Definitely one on the nicest and friendliest pubs around!

What is there to say about the The Victoria, a great boozer which is serving tasty hot food. Run by a family of publicans who know what their punters want. Garden for a summer of sport, inside for nice good and great cocktails too! will visit time after time!

Lovely cocktails at 2 for £12 on a Sunday. Clean and modern atmosphere and an incredible espresso martini. Food looked good although we didn’t try it.

First rate pint of Guinness served by efficient and friendly bar staff. Football on TV for those who want it but plenty of other areas for drinking away from it if that’s what you wanted.

First time here - been wanting to take a look in for a while. Excellent first impressions. Great decor. Difficult to judge as not very busy mid afternoon but very impressed overall.

Being locals living in St Albans for 25 years, we’ve visited most of the pubs St Albans has to offer and considered regulars at some. We’ve always overlooked the Victoria but after the refurb and passing always intended to pop in but never did. On a Wednesday night we finally achieved this intention & well what can I say….. Very Impressed and wish we visited sooner. From arrival the team at The Victoria were great, very welcoming and ensured we were well looked after. Once seated we didn’t really have to leave our table as the bar man (I will get his name the next time I am in), made sure we were ok asking if we wanted another round, which of course the answer was yes! Great selection of beers from the Beavertown Brewery, unfortunately they were out of IPA Neck Oil but I tried the Bones Larger which was really good! We also stayed for food I had the burger which had a real good meaty patty! So I encourage anyone wanting great beer in nice surroundings to pay The Victoria a visit, I’m sure there’s others like us have the best intentions to pay a visit but then prefer their normal stomping ground. We’re defiantly going back! Thank you, the team, at The Victoria Pub! You have a great boozer so keep up the good work!

My wife and I had been to an event in London, we had overnighted in St Albans. On our return from London we were hungry and we don't know St Albans so we just walked from the station looking for somewhere to eat. We happened on the Victoria. A decent modern type pub with sports on and young and older folk. Friendly staff, good service. The menu was easy eats stuff, burgers, chicken ect. The Victoria burger appealed to both of us. I've got to admit I expected a decent burger but nothing special. I was wrong. A simple looking menu but the best burger I've had for as long as I can remember. My wife said the same. It was particularly nice to have real fried onions instead of dry onion rings.

My new favourite place to go in St Albans. Great beer, great atmosphere and the staff are very welcoming. For me, it’s the best place to watch sport around and the fact they show all GAA games is just a bonus.

At last a great pub in St Albans to watch sport with very good no nonsense food and great Guinness. Was welcomed with a smile by the hostess and shown to our table which had its own tv so no more waiting for people to sit down to watch the football! Unfortunately there’s always one that decides to start on cocktails in which I thought would be limited. I was astonished to find out the knowledge of the bar staff and basically made anything we wanted! Very impressed considering the amount of pubs in the city. Been chomping at the bit to get back in the summer when it’s open again. Definitely my new favourite!

I went to this bar with friends with a view to having a fun time out but also supporting local businesses. We had a terrible evening. We were told to order through the app at the table which we duly did however the poor internet access meant that I unintentionally ordered my meal twice. Within 2 minutes of placing the order I called over the waitress showing my bank statement indicating that I had ordered twice and asked her to cancel the order, ensure the chef did not make it up and organise a refund. She agreed to do this and went off to organise. Approximately 20 minutes later the manager came to the table. She was rude, aggressive and had a I don't give a s**t attitude stating that an order was an order and no way way I going to get a refund. She also stated that the chef had started to prepare the food as soon as the order was placed. This was complete lie, if the order was being prepared immediately how come the meal took 50 minutes to reach the table? This was a Victoria Burger I had ordered - any fool knows it doesn't take 50 minutes to cook a burger. The food when it did arrive was poor. Firstly is was cold plus didn't contain the gherkins, fried onions and salad as listed on the menu. We had to send the food back to be reheated and to have the outstanding ingredients added - the returned product was little better. The managers attitude to customer service was appalling, she is a disgrace to her profession. There are many good bars and pubs in St Albans but this certainly is not one of them.

I visited this place with my friends/colleagues just after the second lockdown ended and let me tell you: our excitement to be out and grab a drink and something to eat turned into a complete letdown. We were told to order our food or the app when we arrived. My friend accidentally placed her order twice. When she realised what happened, she called two of the waiters over to ask them to tell the chef not to cook two sets of meals as her app didn’t show the error. They confirmed that they would and that she would get a full refund. About 20mins later the manager came over and lectured us on customer service (we all work in customer service!) and how it’s inappropriate of her to ask for a refund. She told my friend that she would not get a refund as the order was placed online and not with a waiter( which we were asked to do when we arrived) and that they can’t run a business if they start giving refunds! This manager has no place in this business. She was arrogant and very rude. After waiting for 50mins we received our cold and bland food... Our evening was ruined by the way we were talked to by this ‘manager’. We all live and work locally but will definitely not return to this place or recommend it to anyone. Avoid!

It used to be good value for money, especially the food quality. Now it is overpriced and the food is not great. You better off going to M&S next door and buy your sandwich/salad.
