This is such a lovely sight at the end of an amazing walk around the Harlow reservoir. The soup is amazing and the bread is so yummy. Coffee is great too and the service is friendly. Looking forward to seeing the Vanilla Pod at the weekends.

I have bought a coffee here several times after cycling up to Harlow. Service is pleasant and it’s a welcome stop, especially in the winter. Never tried the food, but the variety looks good.

Often run in the Pentlands at the weekend and the Vanilla Pod offers a great chance to warm up and refuel. Reasonable prices and tasty food. Friendly service too. Will definitely be back and try the crepes next time.

Great snacks served with a smile. It is nice to support a local business that has seen the need for service and went out and met it. The coffee and cakes are always a delight and would not be out of place in a city centre resturant.

I was out for a walk with my boyfriend in the beautiful peatland hills, when I stumbled upon this humble kiosk- The Vanilla Pod. I only had a tenner in my pocket and was a bit chilly and peckish, as was my boyfriend, so we were hoping to get a biscuit or an instant coffee when we first spotted the kiosk, but when we got there we found that there was an amazing amount of choice! My boyfriend is gluten free and so we were delighted to find that they had gluten free options of crepes, biscuits and even a gluten free cake! On top of that, their coffee was made in a proper machine and it was very tasty! We decided to get the coffee and cake deal each, and this was delivered to us with lovely, friendly service- and I got some change!

The food is amazing, the location is perfect. Especially if you have been on a hard cycle or long walk and you find the Vanilla Pod along the way, it really is spectacularly located with gorgeous views. There were two people working in the van at the time and unfortunately, one of them was very rude and clearly hated her job. She was evidently very annoyed with the elder worker, but through her attitude she made us feel uncomfortable. I hope for the sake of the Vanilla Pod this women does not remain in your service for much longer because quite frankly she will scare away the customers. That said the food was good and the location perfect and so overall not too bad jut one minor flaw.

My wife and I were doing a long circular walk (6 hours!) from Flotterstone on Saturday and the Vanilla Pod caravan appeared like a watering hole in the desert for us to rest up for a while! We had a packed lunch with us so only had a couple of (excellent) coffees but next time we'll maybe leave that behind and partake in some of their excellent looking filled crepes; homemade soup; and/or home baking. All good quality stuff, served up by friendly people so this is a really welcome addition.

A great place to stop off when out at Harlaw reservoir. It's outdoors, but the visitor centre is warm and cosy. We stayed outside as the weather was lovely and there was a very pleasant atmosphere outside. We had crêpes, one with banana and nutella, one with sugar and lemon, one with home made humus, cheese and tomato. Delicious. We were greedy and had a delicious home made cakes. A rhubarb and ginger cake with custard topping, a carrot cake and a crispy caramel cake, all good. Good coffee too. Really pleasant place.

Finally there's a catering option available in the Pentland Hills Regional Park. Situated at Harlaw Visitors Centre, this kiosk provides a range of food a cut above the normal burgers and hotdogs but the speciality crepes are worth a trip on their own. I've tried a few but I reckon the breakfast crepe is the king. The crepes are all freshly prepared so it's sometimes necessary to wait a few minutes depending on how busy it is. The homemade soups and cakes are also top-notch and there's always ice cream for the hot days and hot drinks for the cold ones!

Great music, great cider, the food is as good as vegan food gets if you are into it and still very good if you're not. Nice people
