I always recommend Urban Retreat Cafe for a quiet peaceful brunch in between shopping. The menu is very good, and prices are typical of the area - about £10-12 for a brunch with 2 eggs. I had Eggs Royale which was absolutely divine and would definitely return to re-order again. Delicious juices and hot drinks too, the perfect spot to catch-up with a friend over brunch. Staff are polite and welcoming but not overly friendly.

Was My second visit and had afternoon Tea both times. The first one was better. The sandwiches tasted just nothing. The scone okay. The sweets were not very good.

A good ambience, overlooking the large staircase. I was impressed with the food, it was beautifully cooked with lovely flavours. Veggies were still nice and green. Fab, luxurious frozen yoghurt.

My daughter and I had a lovely table under the spectacular Eqyptian ceiling. Great spot to get away and relax when overwhelming by all going on at Harrods. The food was healthy and beautifully served by pleasant staff. Although for value you can eat like this for less money you are in Harrods after all and don't have to leave the store for quality food. We have eaten there many times and have always enjoyed being there.

Went for a cream tea on Mother's day. Not good access for a wheelchair on the quieter balcony so had to sit in the main area where there's a constant flow of people going between departments. Tea and scones were served quickly and the scones were warm and light with plenty of cream and jam - but no butter. Table was too small for two teapots, cups, plates etc but we managed. With sticky fingers after though, we asked for a wet wipe or finger bowl - but were told neither was available. At £13.50per head and given Harrod's motto used to be "anything from a pin to an elephant" - it was a sign of the times that we obviously expected too much but then again you only have to look at who they allow through the doors and the behaviour of so many customers, to understand why Harrod's lower standards are only reflecting the clients they serve today - so go somewhere else if you want good service and better value.

a lighter afternoon tea, rye bread rather than usual sandwich bread - which was nice surprise. Tables are a little cramped as area overlooks Egyptian elevator but pleasant all the same and good value we thought too. We arrived 15 minutes early - just be mindful you ensure you check in if booked via TopTable and I've had various emails to quality we showed up!

Booked for a champagne brunch....but on arrival was advised that the license didn't permit sale of alcohol for a further hour and a quarter. Despite this issue, the food was excellent.

Service was terrible. We had to ask twice to be served just to get a drink. Food was flavorful and good and big portions. I ordered the fishcakes and there was more potatoes than fish. That was disappointing. I felt as if I was eating to large hash browns. I would not return there.

We had booked afternoon tea for a birthday celebration and had prewarned that 1 person needed a gluten free meal. They had noted this info but the gluten free options were very disappointing - scones were replaced by a fruit platter and there were no gluten free cakes at all. The other afternoon teas were lovely although sandwiches were a little sparse. The waiter struggled to explain the gluten free options and no one came back at any point to offer more drinks if needed. Overall disappointing for such a lovely setting.

Nice afternoon tea, tea wasn't great. We found the staff snooty and unhelpful. Location isn't great within the store and the table, although not dirty it was stained which was off putting.. Unlikely to return due to the staff attitude. Although food was nice.

Came for afternoon tea but I was expecting a more of a luxurious atmosphere but instead felt like I was sitting in any old cafe. The staff were great and the food was good but it wasn't reflected in the environment unfortunately.

Arranged to meet a friend for lunch as we were both shopping in the area. Had booked a table which was fortunate as it was busy. Warm welcome and the menu was ideal for a 'girls' lunch' Service quick, food delicious and beautifully presented. Will come again!

I met with my friend for lunch at Urban Retreat Cafe - I've only previously visited UR for brunch. They have an impressive choice of salads, though we both had chicken Cesar salads, which had warm, succulent pieces of chicken breast, cos lettuce leaves and sourdough croutons, costing £14.50 - large plates and very filling. I thought it was excellent value - the ambience was chilled, relaxed, and peaceful, with no children. A haven at the top of Harrods! Their juices and hot drinks are so delicious (I always have their hot chocolate, and their fresh orange juice), and they also offer more substantial meals for those looking for something more than a salad.

When you think Harrods, you think an excellent service, ambience and good quality. I was surprised at how small the café was and where it was situated in Harrods. I think the pictures on their site look slightly deceiving and when requesting a nice table we were placed on the balcony that overlooks the ceiling of the 5th floor and an escalator. No music was playing either so all that came between our conversations was the noise of an air vent. The service was average too - at one point I had to go to the Till to request service and was confused whether I needed to order there or not. The afternoon tea was of a good quality but for the price I'd expect a nicer setting given the competition around London that offers very good experiences for Afternoon Tea.

A strange place to have this cafe and very difficult to find as poorly signposted. Once inside avoid the seats on the balcony as they are over the escalator and the hum from this is annoying. Menu has a good variety but as you would expect in harrods priced higher than it should be...£12.50 for an open sandwich of one piece of bread with egg mayonnaise and a tiny bit of rocket salad is pricey! However - the food tasted fresh - latte was hot and the coffee tasted good. One strange drawback - when you pay by card you have to pay as you leave standing up by the entrance - where people are waiting to be seated. All seems a bit clumsy and messy. Not as stylish or as effortless as Harrods experience should be.

The food was nice and just enough in quantity, though we asked for more jam and clotted cream for our scones as one tiny pot of jam and a single blob of cream was a little stingy for two. The first waiter we asked forgot to bring it; our main waitress was much more helpful. She refilled our teapots with hot water on request too. Felt the open sandwiches could have been a bit more generous - three each of small slices of bread with toppings. They were tasty though, the scones were good and the little desserts/macaroons/truffles fairly good, though I could have happily eaten another scone rather than all the little desserts. The latter were also pretty sweet. Overall a decent afternoon tea for the price (had the one with a glass of champagne). Just don't expect Ritz-like surroundings (it's quite small and very informal) or service.

Excelente comida, servicio encantador. Pasta de mariscos genial, pollo milanés bueno. Las flores de calabacín eran simplemente excepcionales. No podría recomendar pedirlos lo suficiente. Precio razonable para la ubicación, especialmente en comparación con las alternativas...

Last week I didn’t get a delivery that I had paid for on-line and couldn’t get through to the restaurant. It was really frustrating but a few days Masala zone management from Earl’s Court contacted me and said they had a major glitch with the bookings system and telephone. Tonight they delivered me a free meal, delivered by a waitress in an Uber. How is that for fantastic service? It was very much appreciated. Thank you to Pravesh, Andra and the lovely waitress who made the delivery.
