The Two Mugs in Solihull

A great family run place, has a great menu and nothing is too much if you want to tweak something or share it. We go at least once a month, It serves what a greasy spoon would but much better quality and reasonably priced. Love the atmosphere, everyone from babies, grandmother's to workers and dog friendly too

You can be sure to get a good cup of coffee and some yummy breakfast options here. Good service and fair prices too. Plenty of seating.

As a coeliac I can’t tell you how happy I am how I can finally trust a cafe! 100 perfect gluten free options and so caring and kind answering questions. It is such a treat to see loads of gluten free cakes separated ! Please can you both have a cafe in dickens heath!

Iv been to this cafe a few times now. There’s always been 3 or 4 of us. Every time without fail they were late bringing out our order or totally forgetting about one of our orders. I won’t be coming back to this cafe

La comida estaba un poco fría, el queso de mi bacon bap no se había derretido ya que el bacon estaba frío. El desayuno de mi marido también estaba un poco frío y la mesa era pegajosa. Sin embargo, la comida era de buena calidad, pero no lo suficientemente caliente.

Another great visit to my local cafe Two Mugs. Quite simply the very best in Solihull.

Great fast friendly service, really good quality locally sourced ingredients. The regular full breakfast was plenty for me.

The Two Mugs is a cosy, friendly, welcoming and sunny local café, serving up all manner of tasty dishes, sweets and hot drinks. The staff were very considerate when making some accommodations for our daughter who has sensory issues. All the staff were super friendly and we loved our meals, which were well prepared and presented. A particular shout-out to the Iced Mocha Latte which was fantastic. The booths are very comfy and elevate the usual café seating options. Everything you want in a neighbourhood spot.

Great vibe Vegetarian and vegan options too.

Although I didn't eat, the food looked Scrummy and very good quality. Great service from the professional and attentive staff. Well done to all

Food was great and not a long wait either, staff were friendly enough only thing that let it down was the state of the customer toilet which was really dirty.

Esta no es mi primera visita y realmente no sé por qué regresé ya que no tenía un Buena experiencia la primera vez. Pero de todos modos esta reseña se centra en mi segunda visita - realmente no entiendo la publicidad con este lugar. Mi hermana y yo vinimos a desayunar - estaba ocupado para ser justos y la cola para pedir estaba casi fuera de la puerta - la cola tardó un tiempo en bajar, pero por supuesto comprensible ya que estaba ocupado. El lugar se sentía como un café en el área de juegos suaves de un niño, simplemente se sentía un poco sucio y como si necesitara un buen refresco. En fin, finalmente pedí la comida. Bastante caro para el desayuno simple, pero todavía feliz de pagar, por supuesto, si la comida es decente! Mi hermana y yo tuvimos la misma comida - la comida tardó un tiempo en llegar, pero estábamos relajados y no nos importó como entendí que estaba ocupado. Finalmente llegó la comida y me decepcionó tanto: mis huevos escalfados estaban duros y mis tostadas estaban empapadas debido a que los huevos escalfados estaban sentados encima de ellos. No solo eso, sino que mi hermana y yo teníamos algo en los huevos, casi parecía fibras de ropa. Por todas las claras de huevo. Pedí que se cambiaran: llegó la segunda ronda de huevos que visten las fibras que aún quedan en los huevos. Tratar de conseguir un miembro del personal por segunda vez fue doloroso. Dejamos los huevos, comimos nuestras tostadas tomamos nuestras bebidas y nos fuimos. Literalmente corriendo por la puerta. Ojalá ahora me hubiera quejado más para obtener un reembolso, ya que realmente fue una experiencia horrible. Pero simplemente no volveré a dar mi costumbre. ¡Un lugar tan exagerado!

Place is not accessible how many times I’ve contacted them about it. I’m in a wheelchair and I can’t access the store. There’s no ramp there is absolutely no accessibility every time I contact someone about it. No one does anything or gets back to me.

Just stumbled on this eatery as I was working in the area. My God had the bacon and sausage sandwich is to die for, recommend 100%

What can I say £9.30 for a cheese sandwich and a cup of tea to take away!! Sandwich was fresh but I’d expect that for a £3.50 sandwich and a £2 cup of tea. Stupid price. Yet a big breakfast is priced ok so why so crazy for a simple cheese sandwich!! Won’t see me again.

Our go to place for clean, classic good breakfasts and lunchs. Lovely family run place. Accommodating from babies, elderly through to pets. Too busy eating to take pics sorry

Before I write I feel it's important for honest reviews of eating and drinking establishments as it has helped me to decide where to eat and drink in the past. We arrived at about 1.45pm. The table sat at first was quite sticky so we moved to one that was a bit less sticky. I waited at the Counter to have my order taken but, the retail assistant carried on changing the till roll. I was not acknowledged by the assistant until she had finished what she was doing - which was about a minute. I ordered two cups of herbal tea's. When the assistant brought our tall glasses we pointed out that they were both not very clean. She did not apologise. She brought back cups but, handled them by the rim and not by the handles. The tables near us had not been cleared and we then noticed that it was all a bit grubby. I did not complain as they were rushing to close at 3pm I think a greeting would have been nice from the assistant to begin with and training given on how to handle cutlery and crockery in hospitality establishments. I hope my comments on our visit to Two Mugs will be acted upon. We have been there on two occasions before and it was acceptable.

I came here this morning with my 85 year old dad we paid £23.60 for a small breckfast each and a americano coffee each we were very disappointed with the food it was basic 😕 Also we had no interaction with the staff they never asked us if our food was ok we were very disappointed with food also service 😕 will not return 100% very disappointed so sad

Great little cafe on Haslucks Green road, very accommodating staff, dog friendly. Great food that also felt unique to the venue. I had a sausage sandwich with a special onion chutney which was very tasty.

Primera visita a las Dos Tazas, que me habían recomendado. Visitado a media mañana. Estaba ocupado pero no lleno. De todos modos, hay muchos asientos disponibles. El servicio en el mostrador fue rápido y cortés. Pedí un sándwich de tocino y una olla de té. El pan era hermosamente fresco y grueso cortijo. El tocino era de calidad decente y abundante. Bonita sorpresa que el té estaba suelto - de hojas. En el lado caro para los estándares locales, pero no me importa pagar un poco más por la calidad. Muy impresionado. Lamentablemente, la cafetería está a unos 20 minutos en coche, así que no voy a poder usarlo con demasiada frecuencia. ¡Que probablemente es igual de bien para mi cintura!

Food is good. But I know it can be busy at lunch time, so I called to see if I can book a table. They said no, but there are 5 tables free. 9 minutes drive, when I get there there's one free table, I'm in the queue waiting to order. Someone comes from outside, and without ordering goes to the only free table left. So I was left with food ordered but no where to sit in spite of doing everything to avoid that situation... Thanks for your 'cooperation'

Friendly staff but quite expensive and smelly as dogs are allowed to eat in. My food was a bit cold and dry to. Had to sit and eat my lunch with some dog licking his privates!!! Not good if the staff are fussing the dogs and preparing your food either!! If your a dog lover then it's the place for you 🤷

Amazing food and lovely friendly staff - Especially Matt, he’s always so friendly and can’t do enough for you. They also have a doggy menu which makes the experience even better when coming with the dogs!

After having been to the sister company Bora coffee I had high expectations but my partner and I were left less than impressed. We went for food on a weekday lunchtime. It was fairly busy but we found a table inside. The table hadn't been wiped...there were crumbs and drink stains. We saw that when clearing the tables the plates were taken but no wipe down. We ordered and waited for our food....a whole 45mins. I chased up around the 30mins mark and was told the food shouldn't be too long. I had ordered the Hash melt toasties and my partner ordered a poached eggs with bacon. My meal was okay, carbs on carbs but my partners looked less than appealing. There was no presentation, the garnish didn't look fresh. Definitely won't be coming here again.

So bad… eggs are not complicated, especially when fried!! Also the poached egg was hard and avocado was brown Went with my daughter and granddaughter after reading’The tiger that came to tea. We had heard good things, but sadly disappointed The staff were lovely but food poor.

This independent cafe is great. Can't fault the cafe itself. Parking outside is limited to one hour free parking by the council.

The wait for the food was 25 minutes for two toasties. One of the toasties was lacking in filling. Only I rasher bacon, and the chicken was dry. My wife has been beforehand and was happy with both food and service. Hopefully, this was just a one-off.

Came on Sunday for Father’s Day had a table booked for 1145 , now I know it’s a busy time but to be left sat there til 120 without even getting our drinks wasn’t on tbh , spoilt the day unfortunately as we were all running late for other things we had planned that day , didn’t leave until 2 pm 🤦🏻

avocado on toast with smoked salmon and fresh squeezed orange juice were soooo good, but not cheap.

We really enjoyed our visit. Great place and with our dogs to. Staff are lovely. Food was tasty and great options. The doughnuts are incredible. Lucky here loved the pancakes.

I ordered poached eggs on toast, The eggs were like eating rubber and the toast was just warm bread, took ages to get my refund, The staff were rude, I won't be going back and I definitely wouldn't recommend eating here.

I stopped in for lunch today with my family. When the waitress put my sandwich down in front of me, she accidentally tipped the sandwich into my lap, getting mustard all over my trousers. She offered me an extra napkin and hurried away. No offer of a new sandwich, no offer to knock something off the bill, nothing. The trousers were brand new and I've been stain treating them all afternoon with no success. Accidents happen, but something should be offered to set them right.

Good service, quick by consistently pleasant staff. Food a bit more pricey but worth paying for. Excellent breakfast.

Found the big breakfast a little to pricey nearly £12 with no tea or coffee. It should include a standard tea or coffee at that price. However, the food was nice, and the service was good.

Food is always delicious, however there is next to no service. The tables are dirty & there isn't any toilet paper in the loo. If you're okay with a bit of mess then it'll be fine

Went there on a Tuesday morning so place was pretty full. Unfortunately after spending almost £30 on 2 meals they still forgot to serve one of us, so I was not impressed with that. Is a very tight squeeze and looks very popular so choose your time of visiting carefully. Because food was very late and prepared hurriedly I don't think I got the best first impression, but was ok.

Great place great breakfast always busy but there is a couple of buts the sausages advertised on the menu say lashfords sausages which they definately aren’t they are too soft and not meaty like lashfords and the toilet needs a really good clean and kept stocked up

What a lovely cafe. Food was lovely, service friendly. My mum spilt coffee on her bap and they replaced it and would not take payment for the second one.

I’ve been coming here since quite soon after it opened, it was one of the places that opened and kept people going through lock down and had a real sense of community. It’s grown over time but the service has not suffered as a result, the same personal service and the same great food still keeps coming. I’m absolutely delighted this place continues to thrive a grow and it’s always lovely to visit

The breakfast here was shocking!.. £8.30 for a cold and stale full English!Staff not even welcoming and poor service!!shame as i had high expectations of this place. Only positive they swapped for fresh breakfast but again cold!!never again.

Food is fresh and good quality, a good range of breakfasts and the smoothies in particular are lovely! Food is sometimes slower than expected to come out, I waited longer for a jacket potato than my partner did for a large full English, but the menu does state that they do not do fast food and to notify the staff if you would require it slightly quicker. Parking directly outside can be awkward but there are lots of surrounding roads with no parking restrictions. Staff are lovely, and seem to employ lots of young people which is a great opportunity. Hot drinks very nice and lots of bakery items to choose from to take away with it. Would avoid at peak times if you are not a fan of loud noise as a full premises can be quite noisy, but of course there is not much the staff can do about that.

Lovely cafe, always very busy. Staff were good. Decorated very well. Parking can be difficult but that isn't the cafes fault. I had the the full breakfast which was reasonably priced for the location. The eggs were snotty unfortunately. Sausages were hard to cut through the skin but inside was good quality lashford meat. Bacon was ok. Beans defined weren't heinz, mushrooms tasted like boiled and the hash brown was ok. For the price I was expecting 100% but didn't meet my expectations. We also had a sausage bap which was enjoyed 2 orange juices which were very fresh and tasty, 2 hot drinks.. again lovely. For 2 people we spend over £30 and if you consider other cafes within a couple of miles radius you can find quality at lower prices.

The service is quite slow. It took over 10 to 15 minutes when I ordered to get my drink, the place was quite understaffed as was really slow.

For me…Good service adds to a review and on this occasion all was good as gold. Yes please! I haven’t been here since my last visit and review Aug’22. All it took was a one-off bad food/service day to send someone away. Has pretty much stayed the same…location, parking outside, size, owners. ..although the seating looks a lot more colourful and comfortable. Brought a new friend here and had a good overall experience. Lovely hot drinks and food and a stocked display of baked goods. There’s enough choice on the menu and prices still reasonable.

This is our “go to” local for when we’re working from home or wanting to treat ourselves on the weekend, the food and service is amazing, they remember and know you by name if you’re a regular and everyone has a friendly nature about them. Two Mugs has more or less become our second home now! And the food or drink never disappoints us! They also have a sister cafe Bora Coffee on the high street, also recommend there too!

Lovely cafe. Have visited several times now my friend has moved nearby. Run by 2 lovely twin sisters Rebecca and Natalie. Food is superb - give it a try as and when you’re in the area.

Booked a table for a birthday breakfast. Table was reserved when we arrived, however the chairs were dirty, baked beans all over the menus and sticky tables. Food arrived quickly and was very tasty but it was so noisy we couldn’t hear anything anyone was saying. Big breakfast very expensive for what you get almost £15 with a coffee.

As a roofer, I've come across many cafes, and I must admit, this one stands out as one of the best places I've ever eaten! The staff also made my experience delightful by helping me in finding a dessert for my vegan co-worker.

Lovely sandwich, the chicken was proper chicken, which I appreciated. The coffee was OK

I visited on 28th December, and ordered a full and normal breakfast with a tea and coffee, all was ok but the black pudding on the large breakfast was clearly not freshly cooked. This must have been reheated in the microwave as it was rock hard unable to put a fork in or cut. This was the only down side to my experience.

Went to two mugs for breakfast on the 10th December ordered 3 bacon 2 sausage 2 poach eggs 2 toast 1 coffee . I was charged £17.50. There best breakfast is £11.95 plus coffee . I email them on the 10th had basic reply back saying will be.in touch soon . Email them again on the.19th still no reply Very disappointed not to have a full response or even a phone call just to say its right or wrong Await a reply now as I.have put it on to TripAdvisor Regards.M F

Very busy for a Sunday at 1030am, staff were quick to clean up the tables. Food was mediocre, ordered a latte and vegetable omelette which was tough, no cheese where it war bulked up with lots of onions. Limited opinions for vegetarians

It was a lovely morning with my mother 97.son 40 and granddaughters 6and 9 and my wife at 64 and me at 72 all were absolutely delighted so I would say you have the perfect recipe...well done

First, 1hr parking limit outside. A mouth watering menu with healthy & vegan options. Choice of breads but no wholemeal or sourdough. Coffee great! Cakes - don't even look at the cakes unless your diet allows you to eat cakes or you have strong powers of resistance 😋😋. Had lunch with group of friends and will be visiting here again, it's a small-ish cafe with exceptionality good quality food, high standards and attentive customer service. Toilet spotless. 🙏

Wow this cafe is a must. So much selection, 5* quality food and the staff are so friendly. The layout inside is modernly gorgeous. Highly recommend.
