Great place for a late night pint, good music, friendly staff and generally a really good vibe

A pleasant town pub. Nice atmosphere, and not too expensive.

Always a great night, great music and friendly staff, cheap drinks too, me and my partner get double vodka mixers and for 2 drinks it's £9.80 so you can't go wrong

What a boozer unreal Guinness and warm pork scratchings

Naff. Went out in Darlo for first time in 13 years and got a very frosty reception. Apparently this is a FPO orientated pub where one must not make merry or have a laugh. Maybe its because they have a 4ft doorman who has "little man" syndrome and hates tall good looking people. Never returning to this pub, they are simply too rude and unwelcoming. 😕

We've been here a few times over the last 8yrs when staying in Darlington, it used to be very dark, quite rundown and with its own clientele but its had a big makeover, very nicely done out with a great outdoor area and best of all it sells our fave drink, Magners in bottles, we'll defo go back.

No atmosphere, crisps we purchased were 4 months out of date, did mention to staff but they just said oh well ta fir letting me know, really!

Did not have food but place was happy friendly

Lovely place for a few, been going here for over half a year now and it's never failed to impress. The lack of food (apart from pub classics like crisps and pork scratchings) isnt an issue with a chippy being right next door

Awesome place any day of the week but especially on a Fri/sat for karaoke and djs, no food but you can bring your own in and eat it, bins provided out the back in the smoking area or member of staff will discard it for you :) staff are all lovely too all round and nice we’ll presented pub and the owners are great too

Used to drink in the Turks until it massively went downhill, was back in town and popped in and it has changed so much. It’s the old friendly Turks again but much more cleaner. Friendly staff and amazing pints… can’t go wrong.

Atmosphere was absolutely flat on a Friday night. Door staff took my friend outside and searched him for no reason. Found absolutely nothing on him but still seemed to find their little power trip enjoyable and were smirking the whole time. Only succeeded in making the only group of lads in the pub leave. Avoid. Many more better pubs in Darlington.

A great pub, friendly staff, dog friendly and a great atmosphere with a massive beer garden, cheap drinks. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back.

Amazing DJ set but the inflated ego male and his little female follower on the door kinda ruined it for us. Rude and antagonising. Obviously bored in their job and looking to make their own entertainment!

Absolutely sound place, if you want the classic Hoskins vibes on a Wednesday afternoon. 10/10 would do again.

Not entirely sure they keep bringing up something that happened a year ago when alcohol mixed with my medication which ibwasnt aware of and rectified after. which i apologised for and never gave them any hasstle for all this time, my review is based off a recent experince with door staff outside the venue.They also delete negative reviews of facebook and are incapable of rational conversation. Mental helath nights appear to be a way of attracting customers for business cos they could not care less about their regualrs. 😆 keep getting responses saying i was berred parementely for my behaviour, when actually that was for 3 months, i was bareed for questioning god forbid why i got barred for a year even despite my apologies and respecting their decision since then, upon entering not being aware i was barred for those 3 months. I apologised sinecerely and had no issue with being barred. seemed unfair to be punished for something i wasnt even actually aware of as got no response to my apology,questions or explinations as to what went on that night despite being a regular customer who would often help the staff out( even applied for a job there!) got told by the door staff I was going to be put on pub watch for simply being stood outside the venue waiting for a vulnerable person to attend a wake despite not entering the venue for over a year. The male door staff was absoloutly spot on and lovely but the woman needs to give her head a wobble thinking public land is hers whilst littering on it at the same time. The door staff repeatedly said I would be on pub watch, to say she didnt when u were not there is a lie and there was a witness to it.

Staff seemed to take issue with us from the outset. If you are not a regular seems you will be met wit hostility regardless.

Really nice pub. Nice selection of drinks, Lots of seating to choose from when quiet. Also toilets are spotless and that's always a plus! Definitely visit when in town.

The beer is great value, about £2.50 for John Smith's, the deco is lovely with a large beer garden. Only downside is the pool room is tiny and certain angles are too tight to make a shot. Apart from that, they're open till 2am and great staff. Highly recommended.

A mixed bag of customers, from the "fabulous!" to the pint after workers...the beer garden is a suntrap and draws the crowds. If you like 80s background music and a good lager or beer . All in all an inclusive family friendly pub x

Had a couple glasses of wine. Sat outside where there was seating. Not many tables with standard chairs. Plenty of tall stools. Not great for pensioners But staff were attentive and friendly

Hit and miss here, we expected an 80s90s night but the music wasn't so I wasn't really impressed with the DJs. Unfortunately there was an obscenely drunk mother and daughter in, to the level where the female toilets were out of action for a very long time and an ambulance was called. The staff handled the whole thing as professionally as possible and supervised use of the male cubicle for lasses which was nice of them......BUT I would say how come they got in as if you seem that drunk most door staff will decline entry ......it is possible they were in a long time but I know the lovely bar ban has worked there a long time and I am confident he would have refused to serve them if they'd been in a while Anyway, I do like the place and the bar staff and so it still gets stars, just less than in the past.

Recently reopened under new management, this is a fantastic place to go for a few beers. Live music, Sunny beer garden, pool table and a great selection of reasonably priced drinks.

The toilets actually have doors! Amazing the difference the new owners have made to the place, whilst still retaining the charm of a 'proper' pub.

We went late one Friday evening after watching a concert across the road at the Majestic. They were open till 1:30am and If you are into your Rock n Metal music this a great late night pub and happy to recommend.
