Since ash has taken over as manager she doing a great job her and her staff make feel so welcome and great customer service keep up the great work

Terrible now looks dirty inside carpet dirty food not very nice was a lovely pub lost its touch now

Friendly staff and ok service but portions of food are clearly getting smaller every time I visit and tend to be served lukewarm at best. Prices are very competitive so you get what you pay for I guess.

Food was excellent and the pub was nice, calm and quiet. The only problem is that the lady who served us our food didn't have her hair tied back, her hair was really long and some of it could get into the food which is unhygienic.

Great fine dining experience with plenty wine selection, very reasonably priced and staff are very friendly 10/10 would get leathered here again

Had a morning wander around Darlington after visiting from our home a hundred miles away. We were in need of coffee and strolled into The Tanners Hall on Skinnergate so named due to the fact that the 'Skin Market' was based there. No longer a skin market, the building is now a cheap food and drinks venue under the Wetherspoons banner. We knew what we were getting, or to be fair, were getting ourselves, after the server had thrust two empty cups across the bar. The hot drinks machine did it's thing and we retired to a traditionally slightly sticky table to enjoy the beverage. The pub seemed comfortable enough and although we didn't eat there, it merited a second brew. We left the place happy enough.

Good real ale good food had a breakfast which was well presented and very tasty, well done Wetherspoons

All the usual attributes of a Wetherspoons. Busy. Cheap beer. Toilets upstairs. Great range of meals. Premises would have benefited from having door staffing. Too many rowdy customers.

Went for drinks only during the holidays. Good place to be, pretty busy. Is fair with pricing and value offered. From young to old - all are there and enjoy.

I have eaten Wetherspoons steak and kidney pie in several other Wetherspoons pubs and always enjoyed them and thought them great value. Tanners Hall served up the worst pie I have ever had - dried out inside with the filling in a lump, the suet pastry was almost impossible to cut through and the gravy served on the side in its own little jug was a congealed blob at the bottom of the jug. And not even hot. Revolting. And no member of staff in sight to speak to. I left it and walked out.

Quick and relatively cheap bar food. Always comes out quickly and is tasty.

It's a Wetherspoon's, I truly don't know what people expect. When you go to a "Spoons" you expect low prices, terrible food, minimum wage service from generally children, a rough atmosphere on the night and the old locals propping up the bar from morning till closing. They're awful and Tanners is everything you'd expect.

Truly awful. The food was undercooked and sent back. The waiter surly and unhelpful. I wouldn’t darken their doors. Beer tasted odd, chemically.

Food was cold had to be returned and heated up. Advertised as Wiltshire ham but was thin and out a packet . Very disappointed

Breakfast was served very quick which is good, and it was delicious. Staff really friendly and helpful so thank you guts you do a good job. Will certainly come here again when in the area.

It's a little dark and dingey but it's a 'spoons at the end of the day. The Mrs and I went on a Thursday afternoon and I was happy to find it "curry Thursday". I had one of the tastiest, hottest curries I've had in a long time. She had a southern wrap which also looked delicious and got top compliments from her. We'll more than likely go back for the food and crisp cold pint

Tanners is always busy, been open 20+ years. It's a bog standard 'spoons in a large shop unit on one of the main shopping streets in Monte Darlo but.... I don't think it's ever been refurbished, the gents toilets are and have always been rank. The staff are great and they look after the beer very well, the food is hit and miss, but never bad. It seems to me that TM and spoons are just taking the profit and not reinvesting, like many of the old 'spoons it's well overdue some of their profit being put back in by way of a comprehensive refurbishment.

Good food, had ordered the fish and chips with a drink. Service was decent enough although a bit slow. The ambience was good.

Always busy, but the staff always try to serve you in an orderly fashion, not as expensive as a lot of other places I could mention, anyone going out for a meal I can recommend and you won't be counting the pennies, and the amount of choices well go in yourself you certainly won't be disappointed, good luck,

Ordered fish and chips . Mushy peas were stone cold, fish had very little batter on. Used this place regularly and can honestly say it was the worst meal ever . Asked was everything okay, told them issues about cold food and was told I will see what we can do. Then proceeded to walk past me for at least 10 minutes saying nothing. Not a good thing to do when someone has complained. Was going to order more drinks but left instead.

Too noisy. Some tables rather tatty (our table No.11).

i was with my wife for a drink, solo, after 10 minutes we noticed a lot of tables had empty plates and glasses on them, then a young lady came to clear the tables, her attitude was disgusting banging plates and glasses as she collected them , people were looking, i asked her very politely not to make so much noise.... then she kicked off asked me leave , which i did gladly after 30 years in the trade ive never met anyone so rude , apparently she was the manageress WOW, steer clear

Bought 3 meals 2 burger meal dry and more like childrens meal also a Panini chicken Was cold and bread was was very hard .

Normal spoons but staff were absolutely great and food was piping hot and fresh- manager was fabulous 👌

Highly disappointing. The poorest service and food I've ever experienced in a Wetherspoon's venue. Service: Sullen, dull and badly trained staff, devoid any customer engagement skills. Food: The onion bahjis were still frozen in the middle, the rice was in congealed lumps, the garlic bread sodden and dripping in some tasteless opaque grease (lard...?) and the beef Madras simply a mass of gristle. I returned the ice cold bahjis to the bar, and was greeted by a blank stare from the server, who didn't seem to be fully present. Eventually, I received the replacement bahjis, and they were hot, but dark to the point of being bitter. I expressed my surprise and disappointment at the poor quality of the food (with the same oddly 'absent' server) and received another long, blank stare. I thought he hadn't heard/understood, so repeated myself. 'Write in...' he grunted. Way, way below even an average Wetherspoon's. To be avoided.

Great afternoon with food and drink.

most of the staff are ok but there's one ginger lad with glasses who thinks he's some kind of bar god. The beer is always well kept and the food is always decent. Some of the regular clientele are a bit iffy.

Been going to Tanners a while and had great times there, but the service there today 17/06/23 was absolutely awful, not happy at all.

Great cheap place for a drink with my friends after college. Some loud day-drinker drunks are the only issue. But the service is fast and LOVELY staff. This dude with glasses and tattoos was the nicest guy ever, gave great service.

The place is rotten and the bar staff are unbelievably rude , last night got asked to leave as we rufused to pay for a drink that was dropped off by a member of staff to OUR table I was disgusted , also the security snatched our paid for drinks away from us , one word for the place ROTTEN .

Fantastic staff and quick service ,unfortunately, our meals came out cold, but the staff changed them and gave us a pudding as an apology.Toilets were downstairs, which was a bonus, but they were in need of a good clean!!! There was not a lot of parking outside, but we did manage to find a space in a street round the corner, but you can only park there at certain times.Worth a visit if you're in the area or like me a Spoons fan.

Its weatherspoons once you been to one you been to them all.

Staff. Have no concept what so ever dealing with disabled people. They find disability funny. They don't listen or look at you when you try to tell them something. DISABLED PEOPLE ARE HUMAN TOO. I JUST HAVE NO VOICE. How rude.

Great beer and a vibrant atmosphere

We got two hours free parking at short stay car park in the town centre. Five minute walk from the car park to the resteraunt, it was vey busy when we walked in but there was ample seating. Ordered on the app and the food arrived quickly. It was very tasty and the staff were very pleasant.

Wrong drinks poured, once served and realised mistake, drinks wasted.

Loved it. Had a drink and the lunchtime special. Staff efficient and friendly. Food and drinks extremely well priced. Packed with happy customers
