The Tudor Rose in Croydon

I would have hoped this place would have improved but alas it has not! Toliets were a discrace with No Toilet Tissue & No Soap. Place is being Run by Students from a Student Union Group with No Sense of Responsability! Had the Steak & Malbec Pie which is Nice but the Portion is Mean! Service is Very Slow!

This was my second visit, and once again, it exceeded my expectations! The three-course meal was absolutely delicious and offered excellent value for money. The service was outstanding, with staff making us feel welcome and well taken care of. Every dish was flavorful and beautifully presented. I’ll definitely be coming back again soon!

Many items on the menu were not available. Took over 20 minutes to be served after sitting down and had to get up and ask. Meal took ages to arrive with no offer of condiments. Even had to get up to ask for the bill. And this wasn't even a busy evening!

I had the sea bass it was amazing, I would definitely have it again. The pork belly also looked lovely and was enjoyed by all who had it.

Atmosphere is excellent, staff are pleasant and kind, food service was quick and some of the best pub food i’ve had!

Fantastic service and food. Staff were able to accommodate a party of 30 people. People could socially distance comfortably. All three courses came out and n a timely manner and all food was hot. Staff were very attentive.

Lovely pub, great food, fab service

Had a very nice lunch here. Staff were very friendly and accommodated our special needs child. Food was tasty, portions could have been a bit more generous maybe.

Awful service. We booked a table for Sunday lunch but when we arrived on time we were told our table wasn’t ready. We were sat on a bar table/sofas in an uncomfortable and dark corner, and told to eat there. When I questioned the waitress, I was told the table we booked wouldn’t be ready for ‘at least half an hour’. No apologies were given and after sitting there for 5 mins and not offered a drink we decided to leave. This is not how you run a business or treat customers!!

Lovely pub with good selection of beers. Dogs welcome. Good outside seating area

Service was excellent, prices were abit too high for the quality of food - however, it wasn’t terrible.

I was in the other day and the food was excellent. Our main server Raphael brought out our food just as we finished our starters and put a smiley face on the bill. Brilliant experience would definitely recommend going and having a meal with your family.

We went for a Sunday roast, and booked a table for early lunch. When ordering at 1pm, we were told they'd already run out of the veggie roast. With no other remotely similar veggie options (alternatives were stew, margarita pizza and vegan burger), we opted for a fish and chips, thinking it was the safe option. It wasn't. It was the worst fish and chips we've ever had. So bad in fact that my wife sent hers back and got something else, as a good chunk of her fish was missing from within the batter. I stuck with mine as it wasn't as bad, but it really was the worst fish in fish and chips ever - rather than firm, tasty chunky flakes, the fish was more like tasteless mush. About as mushy as the tiny portion of mushy peas it came with.

Rubbish menu for vegetarians - very little variety and it's been the same for years. Last couple of times I've come they've ran out of the few menu items they have.

Everything was brilliant the burger’s i have had at this pub are excellent and the staff are so kind and caring snd got my food done in rapid time making my experience even better. All in all one of the best pubs ive been to in a while would definitely recommend it

Nice venue, table waiting was good then again it was a Weds afternoon. Pork belly was excellent but the carrots were hard. The Malbec pie was tasty but broccoli was hard too. Not quite al dente. However, didn't spoil a good time.

We went to have Sunday roast so we ordered drinks and roast dishes for 4 of us. The food was delicious but the waitress kept asking us what if we wanted to order more drinks or desserts but we didn’t want to. I feel that it’s a bit rude if you want to turn the table for other customers by keep asking what if we want to order more food or what if we want to pay bill 😤

We held our daughter’s christening and 1st birthday here on 13/10 and the service and staff were amazing from start to finish. Along the whole process of booking and planning Jamie was helpful and accommodating. We were allowed access to the pub before opening to decorate and during the celebrations the food was lovely and everything felt very taken care of so we could just enjoy ourselves. Would definitely recommend and use again.

Staff are always friendly and welcoming and willing to accommodate any requests that we have. We always enjoy our meals here too and it's great to know we have somewhere local that carers to all our dietary requirements and serves such tasty food!

A bit of a late review, as we visited in August, but we enjoyed a fantastic lunch. The food was delicious, and we hope to return soon. The service by Favian was fantastic. We had an ill member of our party who needed to stay outside, but we were accommodated to keep them hydrated and were given the option of taking food out for them if they felt better. It was an unusual scenario, but Favian went above and beyond.

They serve a good steak sandwich, lovely chips with a pot of beef dripping sauce. On this particular visit however I had a nice cool soda water with ice. The staff were helpful, friendly, and attentive.

A thoroughly enjoyable family meal out on a Sunday. The booking was straight forward on the online booking system. I had asked to be seated in a dog friendly area which was arranged. The food was delicious. Some of our party had the Sunday roast, some had dishes from the main menu and they were all of excellent quality. Best of all was the service. Joseph who looked after our table was attentive, friendly and welcoming. Thank you for a great dining experience!

Lovely visit, king prawns were delicious, compliments to the chef. The atmosphere was pleasant with friendly inviting waitresses. Thank you to Holly who made our visit special.

Had a lovely meal here on Monday. The food (Steak & Ale Pie & Seabass) was hot, tasty, plenty of it & reasonably priced. Our server, Holly, couldn't do enough for us & always with a smile on her face. Would happily recommend this restaurant and am sure will be visiting it again soon.

We came here unexpectedly after heavy rain and flooding stopped us going to our original destination. Initially we were welcomed and served quickly but then the staff seemed to disappear and there was a long wait to be offered dessert. Some guests were rather noisy.

Well the food was fabulous. Not easy to seamlessly present 11 people with all their chosen food at the same time . Everyone commented on how good it was. Our very special day way was completely enhanced by the food and service. We managed to see Tanya the cook and thank her personally and everyone else that made it such a lovely day.Thank you

Had an amazing dinner here with my friends. The food was delicious and delivered quickly, and the cocktails were amazing. The service was brilliant - Joe went above and beyond to make our night great, he was friendly and funny and just really lovely. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Had a brilliant family Sunday lunch for 16 people! Delicious food, friendly service and a great setting. Everyone very happy. Chocolate bombs are amazing.

I emailed the Tudor Rose on Wednesday asking for a table for 16 for Sunday expecting to be turned away. However they happily took the booking and asked for a preorder which worked very well. On the day we were seated immediately and the waitstaff went out of the way to make sure we were all sat together. The service was incredible from start to finish. I did not get the name of our main server but I believe he may have been a manager and was wearing a grey shirt. He was on it and although the beef ran out (even though we pre ordered it) he stated he was very sorry for this and had a conversation with the kitchen in regards to this. We were then offered a different meat mix instead which worked very well. The food was exceptional and the roast was the best we have had in a while. The desserts were high standard and presented incredibly. Overall the Tudor Rose was a great place for a large family lunch. I can not thank the server who took care of us enough for his patience and his enthusiasm.

The Tudor Rose is under new management and also has been revamped. Same set up but better. I'll update properly but at this time it's a yes from me. We like the Tudor Rose. Good seated area as well as casual area at the other end of the pub. Food is varied, Italian and French inspired with the old favourites. Table service which is fairly prompt. Worth booking at the peak times.

We were served by Beth at the bar, she created a very warm atmosphere and made sure our pint glasses were never empty. Our kids loved the food on offer and the non alcoholic cocktails! Would definitely recommend

We were served by Beth who is extremely welcoming and lovely. She offered a range of mojito flavours which I could choose from which was great. Loved our time here and may become a local now 😉

It's a pub that has a restaurant. I think it's all quite nice. Tasty freshly cooked food for lunch, came hot and tasty, with good portion sizes. Staff were quick and polite.

Late lunch for 3. Very nice venue, staff welcoming and food well presented. Fish & chips, BBQ half chicken, and, duck noodle bowl. All very nice.

Really enjoyed the food and service was very good too.

Although Tudor Rose was extremely busy, staff were still friendly and great. The food quality (look and taste) was also fantastic. Please do let the chef know. To have a busy service and still produce quality is commendable.

Lovely pub. Shame about the gross food and disgusting toilets.
