Shah Karahi Halal in Croydon

I went in around 1.30am and I am not lying the guy serving me was such a top fella! He was nice and prepared the food nicely. I actually felt like I was at home. I even told him I'm very hungry I just want to eat and he kinda felt the vibe of food I was going for. On a real I'll be back and I hope he sees this review!

Good food, and very good customer service will definitely come again

I bought large beryani and believe it or not, there was only 3 small lines of chicken breast in it. Why not charge a little extra and give people proper food?

Popped in her twice for a quick kebab wrap at lunch while doing a training course nearby. Food was really tasty and a big portion so great value for money.

The food was stone cold, despite being delivered on time. The breads weren't packaged correctly either, resulting in them being cold and like rubber. Very disappointed this time round as I order from here after work on occasion, when possible.

Serving 2 or 3 days old food to customers don’t use this place again anyone well get sick and when I call them they can’t even speak English

Ordered 3 regular meat biryani and q large chicken biryani but the chicken portion also was regular same as the others....m not happy with this order...

food was stone cold. not a biriani...just meat in tomato rice. no taste at all. fish was ok. bhajia was ok. kebab roll pastry was burnt and charred. No mint sauce just a drop of chilli sauce and huge chunks of tomato, onions and cucumber over 2 kebabs. meat samosa had more peas than meat. very disappointed considering how much I paid. will not order again from here.

Doesn't look like much from the outside but the food here is delicious. Tarka dhal, curries, freshly cooked nans, rotis and lots more including mouth watering shrikhand. Also, very friendly.

My daughter and I had a great time at this restaurant! The dishes were delicious, with well-balanced flavors. We were warmly welcomed by Imran, which made the experience even more pleasant. We had rice with chicken, and the portions were huge! The service was impeccable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good place. We will come back without hesitation!

Visited today for dinner and it was very tasty and had exceptional service.

Food was absolutely delicious. We ordered a mixed grill, which came out sizzling, Lamb karahi, chicken curry, prawn jalfrezi and naan. Everything was amazing! The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We were a large group with children.

The value for portion size is really good here and I’ll definitely be going back when I want a quick but flavoursome meal. I got a spinach (saag) dish and prawn bhuna for my main, which went down a treat and was extremely filling. For dessert, I then tried out my first ever kulfi, which was a very smooth and thick creamy dish covered in almond. The dessert was very sweet and I’d recommend to anyone that hasn’t tried before. The man serving was happy and open to conversation and making recommendations whilst waiting for the food.

By the time the food arrived it was cold also the containers and bag was leaking with sauce. The food itself was tasty though maybe i just got bad luck with the care of the delivery driver or the prep of packing of the food was rushed

ordered and got phone call saying what I ordered was not part of the set menu even though it let order through. food turned up cold, meat was dry and tough and ticks massala was proper spicy so wasn't eaten

All the chicken and meat dishes were overcooked. Lamb jalfrezi had a strange sweet taste to it. Very disappointed and won’t be ordering again.

From the hospitality to catering for my exact needs & going above and beyond to make sure everything was catered for. Starters, main courses & the desserts were very praised by all the guests & boy was the food delicious!!!! The brothers running the business & chefs are doing an amazing job. After excellent Google reviews, I ordered Chicken Biryani and lamb Kabab. My colleague and I love the Chicken Biryani and Kabab. The food was fresh and delicious, with really authentic tastes and flavours. The delivery was outstanding and on time; however, the packing needs to be improved, as there is oil leaking out from the plastic bags.

One of the best Halal restaurants in croydon. Must try Nihari and Haleem those are specialty. Also, there sevices are really great in terms of serving food and understand customers feedbacks. Thank you Shah karahi

I happened to be in Croydon area & ended up going to Shah Karahi for lunch. I had lamb biryani & it was absolutely delicious & authentic,kheer was topped up with nuts & was fresh. Everytime I go the taste of pakistani cuisine is retained well which is fantastic. I also ordered Nihari & Lamb Karahi for take away & it was well packaged. Overall I really enjoyed the food 👌🏻 Thanks for an amazing service.

I visited London from Germany, and London being known as containing a Mini Pakistani hubs, I found Shah Karahi near a vicinity of my hotel. I tried out a Breakfast (Nashta), with Channa and Masala. It reminded me of a taste of Channa Dish from Kund (near Attock), where River Indus and River Kabul meets. Its a recommended dish.

I used to live in croydon some time ago and i went to shah karahi once and got addicted to their food Unfortunately, i had to shift to Gillingham for some personal reason but time to time i still travel from gillingham to east croydon (2:30 hours travel time) just for authenticity and taste of the food. Especially their nihari is to die for The staff is so welcoming and well mannerred.

We placed an order of 50 chicken biryani and 50 lamb Haleem for our melaaad gathering OMG the tast was fantastic they deliver at time thay were very polite when i entered to the shop they were very polite and looks professional many thanks Highly recommend will definitely try again and again Inshaaa Allah

Shah Karahi was a great find for a Friday lunch break treat. I had the Chicken biryani, and it was both tasty and filling, with a really generous portion. The staff were friendly, and service was quick, which is perfect if you're in a rush. It's a solid choice for hearty food that hits the spot. Would definitely recommend if like me your working nearby in East Croydon. I'll sure be back!

Such a waste of money. Staff don’t know how to speak English and serve food. Order 15 people brayani for takeaway for party and it was such a shame when we served. All off and smelly. Don’t go to this restaurant…. Dirty inside in kitchen

I ordered food at 12pm - they told me that it will be half an hour however when I got there at 12.45 pm my food wasn’t ready. I then had to wait another 40 minutes. When my food did come out he started severing people. Customer service was atrocious. Never again

We live 500 yards from the restaurant but it took 70minutes for our food to be delivered and he walked from the restaurant. The food was cold, they forgot the sauce and the naan bread. I won't recommend or use them again, food not very good, chicken was very greasy.Thatcwas our first time trying, what a disappointment.

What an incredible Owner - Mr Shah. Very polite on the phone ,hospitality top notch. Food - fresh and tasty , Price so much reasonable compared to London prices. I own an Indian Restaurant in Portugal by the name The Saffron Mantra in Loule Town Algarve and I know how the tastes should be and if the food is freshly made or not. I would highly highly recommend this place to dine or take away ir delivery. Call them and take the advice on what to order ,you will not be disappointed on the suggestions.

My partner went here to try a vegetarian biriyani (takeaway), and was asked at the counter if he wanted it heated. He expected fresh food, but none the less said he'd like it heated. Got given a lukewarm meal and ended up with food poisoning. Food safety is bad here!!!

I go shah karahi every day I like Tarka daal saaag spinach And I think they sell best and large onion baji in London the prices are very reasonable I noticed they cook everyday fresh food highly recommended to all pashtoon

The food was simply outstanding! I ordered the Lamb Nihari, Chicken Jalfrezi, Haleem, along with Roti and Rice. Every dish was cooked to perfection, bursting with authentic flavors that made each bite a delight. The Lamb Nihari was rich and tender, the Chicken Jalfrezi had just the right balance of spice, and the Haleem was wonderfully hearty. The portions were generous, making it excellent value for money. Very delicious Pakistani food 😋The mutton is tender and you can choose spicy or mild spicy, super delicious! Chicken fried rice is delicious😋Fragrant rice The boss and staff were very welcoming. We entered the restaurant without thinking, and the clerk arranged everything according to our preferences. Eat your fill Very delicious food, the lamb shank was marinated and stewed so nice, very tender & nice go with naan! Service so friendly, at first we have no idea what to order, but quickly everything was arranged nice and quickly. Very recommend 👍will visit again. Thanks

Shah karachi hala is a good hotel like five Stars ⭐ hotel...

It was my first time ordering from this place and unfortunately I won't be ordering again. The food was cold and half of the nihari sauce had leaked out of the foil container and into the plastic bag. The methi chicken was drenched in oil. The mango lassi was not fresh and had a stale taste about it. overpriced for what it is. I would steer clear.

The manager was very helpful and understanding and refunded me promptly. Also my understanding was that the sea bass was grilled but they also fry the fish so if you want to have the fish grill to you have to mention it.

Just ordered Nihari via Ubereats. Food came super cold. And the texture was off. Anyway, we heated it and it’s very disappointing that even the taste was stale. We used to order Nihari from this place alot but now no more!!!

Order placed, advised 40 minutes maximum for delivery. 1 hour later hadn’t arrived. Phoned, assured 2 or 3 min, 15 minutes later still not arrived. Order cancelled. I can’t comment on the food as never tasted it.
