The Travellers Home in Bexley

We have visited this pub many times and have always enjoyed the food and the service has been good. Unfortunately on our last visit the food was mediocre and overcooked. Considering it was a Friday there were very few customers there so the usual atmosphere and buzz was missing.

Great varied menu, good choice of vegetarian food. Served very quickly. Food was hot and delicious. Would definitely recommend.

New to the area, we had abandoned another pub/restaurant as we found it to cramped and noisy. We then found ourselves at the Travellers Home and we had a really lovely couple of hours! The bar staff and waiting staff were very polite and the food was excellent! We will return there and would definitely recommend.

Food being freshly cooked & reasonable price & good quality

Went for a Christmas dinner. The manager was excellent very covid aware and let people move tables if they were not comfortable. Had run out of a couple of things but found suitable alternatives and in the current climate everyone is having the same issue. Were not rushed and really enjoyed our meal

I went here for lunch with some friends. The pub has a lovely atmosphere, the staff are lovely and friendly and the food was very tasty and reasonably priced. What more could you ask for. I will definitely be going there again.

Went for food , awful, bland not worth the price !!! Staff haven't got a days work in them !! Tables left with plates condiments and glasses left, even tho it was not busy at all just hanging around, doing nothing won't be back or recommending the place awful !!!

A wee gem of a pub, great staff & very friendly, as a “foreigner” was made very welcome. Fabulous selection of good beers & wines and most of fantastic food at a very affordable price. 10/10

Had a great evening in this pub , came in for a pint and found it was a charity race night so stayed had some food ,staff were friendly and food was hot and tasty.

Just popped in for breakfast the food was excellent. Sam was very friendly and very helpful would defo return.

Come to this pub every Tuesday for poker nights and staff are all accommodating friendly and helpful would recommend this pub to anyone looking for cheap good tasting food

Came with my family for a meal where we was welcomed by there friendly bar staff, Food was lovely well presented and great value for money, drinks were at a great price too. Will definitely be returning in the future.

It was a welcoming and friendly pub. Kids friendly. The food was ran out on that day. Sadly. The grilled definitely can be improved, the food portion is too small.

Disappointing Experience from Start to Finish From the moment we walked into the pub, the experience left much to be desired. As soon as we stepped inside, the person behind the bar loudly shouted across the room, asking if we had a booking – not exactly the warm and welcoming greeting we expected. When we were shown to our table, it was uncomfortably crammed right up against another, making it difficult for me as a disabled customer to sit comfortably. When we politely asked if we could move, the same lady bluntly shouted again, stating, “We have a party of 21, so you can’t move!” The tone and lack of consideration were disappointing and made us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. Unfortunately, the food did little to redeem the visit. The quality was well below standard – bland, poorly presented, and frankly not worth the price. It felt like no care or attention had been put into the preparation, which was incredibly disheartening given the overall atmosphere and service. I rarely leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share this experience in the hope that the management takes note. A little kindness, flexibility, and attention to quality could make a world of difference.

A really nice place to come with the family. The food is always excellent and very well priced. The staff are always lovely too.

Had breakfast here on Saturday good food, service and price only beaten by their full menu I have been using The Travellers for many years and long may it continue.

Really poor food and customer service had a mega mix grill sausages we're completely burnt black chips were cold gammon was overcooked to point where it was really dry and same for the chicken .

The entire experience was great from start to finish. An amazing atmosphere, and service by the team at the venue. A massive shout out to Marlon who made the extra effort the entire time we were there. He came across genuine and happy to do everything he could to make sure that our visit was exceptional. Marlon gave service with a smile, was very friendly, and also engaged with our 4 year old son, and made him feel special by putting his picture on the wall. Marlon is an absolute credit to the team there! The entire rest of the team were great also!

Lovely food, lovely staff, would definitely recommend

It's cheap and cheerful, food decent for the price.. especially with deals on. Kids like it! Desserts v good. It can get busy but the service really is excellent, the young manager was brilliant despite the number of people. Good selection of gins and proper tonic.

Haven't been here in years and I was so pleasantly surprised when I visited last week I had to post a 5*. Food menu looks great and what we had was beautiful. Staff were friendly and the drinks and food were a great price. Table we were on was broken but was clean. There was karaoke on but you could sit in the sports bar and it really didn't disturb you

Good, honest pub food, nothing spectacular but nothing pretentious either. I always enjoy the food here. Dog friendly. It could do with a wider choice of real ales but the Doombar is OK.

Hired out a side of the pub for a joint birthday party for family and friends and it was the perfect place! We struggled to find somewhere that was a good price but most importantly size wise suitable and local which provided food, drink, space and a bit of light music and good atmosphere, and the travellers home ticked all the boxes! Everyone commented what a lovely atmosphere it had and most importantly how nice the staff were! A huge thanks to Shania and her team (Gary, Charlie and Marion). From the moment we enquired to the very end Shania was great, so friendly and nothing was a problem! Just a great experience dealing with the team to make it a special day. The food - we ordered a buffet and again great food which (thank you to the chefs - Amy, Arturas and Tracey). There was another party after us so we had to shuffle around to a new spot (all agreed beforehand) again was no problem and Shania even reserved us enough space for those who wanted to stay later to ensure we all were sitting together! We would 100% use this place again for a quiet lunch or family event! And def recommend this pub to everyone!

Would of been 5* however was a bit chilly tonight and heating outside wasn’t working hopefully they get this fixed before winter also music a bit quite even tho there’s karaoke, maybe advertise a bit more because was quite atmosphere was good however for a Saturday night wanted it to be more lively

Love this pub. There's around a dozen pubs closer to me than this pub, but this one is well worth going out of my way for. It's well connected as only a 5 minute walk from Bexleyheath bus station. The staff always make me feel welcome and are very attentive. Very clean, great tasting beer and great atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

We had the most fantastic experience dining at The Travellers with my two lovely children! My children were over the moon with their children’s menu, while I thoroughly enjoyed my perfectly cooked Hunters chicken with a side of chips. Not only was the food exceptional, but the service was outstanding as well. The staff at The Travellers went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. We popped in to have a quick dinner and although the food was nice enough it fell shirt on service and atmosphere, the place was cold, we sat at a table with crumbs and dirty glass and no one attempted to clear or clean the whole time we were there, our food came out and that was the extent of the staff interaction, no one asked how the meal was and once we'd finished a number of staff walked past our empty plates and left them there, in fact a member of management or head office was sat at the table next to us on his laptop, it seams like the art of customer service has died

Charlie was a brilliant bar tender and served us very professionally and with great knowledge about the stock and beer taste and advised on what to drink. I would recommend this pub and the facilities. Very friendly and welcoming Dog friendly and even have a dog menu for them to eat so they don’t hassle you for your dinner

It was absolute chaos for my granddaughter 16th there was enough of us in total 18 the poor bar staff just 2 had a full pub dealing with everyone my chicken combo steak was chicken burnt steak ordered rare was inedible I'm shocked when this should have been sorted out on placing a big family our orders should have been taken at the table individually not like Mcdonald take away

Very disappointed with presentation of food and quality , and would not rush back , especially during any busy time as I don't think they cope well .

Had a lovely steak meal in this pub very good service I would recommend. I live very close to the Travellers Home you could say it's our family local and on my recent visit I noticed improvements it seems to be managed a lot better than the recent years the staff are plesant and the foods fantastic and incredible value for your money. So if like me you had bad experience with the establishment in the past give it another try you will be pleasantly surprised.

First visit for breakfast here not really impressed- food took over 45minutes to arrive, food just about warm, sausage not cooked fully, bacon burnt in places, cold toast- if it hadn’t been that it was a special occasion I would have complained and asked for a refund Felt sorry for the young girl trying to serve everyone on her own -she did apologise for the wait.

I ordered lunch at 1210. It arrived at 1255. It wasn't busy inside the pub either! The time before that, when we ordered lunch, it was a similar story....we waited around 40mins for our food. Me and my wife have been coming to this pub for years. We've always enjoyed the food, the service and the atmosphere. However, I'm not sure why it takes so long for the food to arrive these days!? The food itself was fantastic. And the service from the bar staff is always top drawer. But, waiting so long for the food to arrive does need to be addressed.

The service and food was good but unfortunately when we went to order some desserts we was told that the kitchen had closed it was only 9.10 and they had only cleared our table after our main course and no one said that the kitchen was about to close and our table was booked till 9.45 so what’s the point of a finishing time ?
