Fish and chips here are lovely the owner very nice as well good ambience.

Myself and Son (8) shared a lovely piece of Cod for tea this evening. Was very tasty and perfectly cooked. Plates were empty (which makes for easy washing up)

My 88 year old father-in-law, my partner & I enjoyed very tasty fish’n’chips from here eaten as part of a picnic in the Walled Garden, Sidcup Place early evening. Can highly recommend! Owner & lady serving in the shop were very helpful, everything cooked fresh on ordering, dry & crisp not greasy. A generous portion of large cod & large chips fed all 3 of us for £13 - great value. Wheelchair accessibility good, very clean & tidy for dine in also👍

The chips the owner gave me had black bits on where the oil hasn't been changed in months, plus they had been out for a few hours. The owner cooked fresh chips for another customer who had been in before me and his chips looked like that it had been cooked in a different fryer as there was no burnt bits on his chips. Plus I didn't find the owner very friendly and he had a problem because I only ordered chips.

The only I’ll say it again the only Best fish & Chips in Sidcup you can’t beat them the worst so called F&C in main road is the one in longlands parade they are the Worst and the owner is RUDE give them a miss and get your fish & Chips at Hook line 👍👍👍👍

Went in here at about 18.30 last Saturday just needed something to eat only ordered sausage and chips for £5 well it was the worst chips I’ve ever tasted must have been in that hot oil all day could not eat it even the sausage it went straight in bin.

So rude, cold food, never going here EVER again. Looking for other recommendations?

Great tasting fish and chips. Sat in and had haddock fish and chips with battered sausage and beans. Came with side salad and portion of fish was really big. All cooked to order and the batter was crispy and no greasy or oily feel to it so was nice and clean. Nice place to enjoy fish and chips.

I’ve been using a local fish and chip for 20 plus years. They shut for their annual holidays so decided to use Hook and Line. 10 out of 10. The fish is served in boxes so stays crispy.very good indeed.

I've never actually 'heard' anyone with a bad word to say about this place. Been going there for 7 years, always brilliant. Suspect most bad reviews are from other local businesses with an axe to grind. I'm going there in half an hour, they're great 👍

£13.80 wasted, ask 3 times for salt and vinegar. Got home just salt on chips. No salt and vinegar on fish. Wasted time Surely everyone knows

Fresh fish brought in daily from the docks by the proprietor and chips prepared on the premises, not delivered frozen. Top quality.

Great fish and chips, friendly staff

Quality so inconsistent. One day nice, the next inedible. Today found metal shaving from metal scourer in food, batter was thick and sludgey with raw flour and chips cooked in dirty oil. Not cheap either -£9.90 for a small cod and chips.

Just had first take away from hook and line. Place is clean and modern. Staff friendly. Fish cooked fresh to order and was the best fish and chips we've ever had in Sidcup or the surrounding areas. Will def return.

Picked up a takeaway cod and chips from here one night. The fish took absolutely ages to make, I guess that’s a good thing but in the end I was waiting for about 20 mins. We ate the food once we got home and it was nice, just a shame about the wait

Been using Hook & Line since it opened. Never a bad meal. Tonight we hosted 8 friends for a Fish&Chip night, everyone was complementary and said how it excelled their own locals. Fresh cooked, dry crisp batter and real chips. A genuine 5* establishment..

This is first class fish and chips proudly selected / prepared / freshly cooked by a lovely couple plus staff. Honestly some of the best fish and chips ever had ! And I am fussy.

Fish and chips no longer deep-fried . they were dry and not the fish and chips that we know. Also the toilets were really dirty. We won't be going back there anymore and, I don't think the others that were in there, will be going back either. Sad because it used to be good.

We went there at 8pm on Saturday evening snd wanted to eat in. The lady seemed very unhappy about our decission and had to check if it was posdible- as they are closing in 1hr- with the manager who approved. There was only one more person eating in and a couple wcame in to order a takeaway so it was not busy. The people that came after us got their order quicker than we did. Toilets were closed shortly after 8 and were not accessible. Taste wise it was medicore- not poisonus but not tasty and considering attitude of employees, i would not go there again.

I have always thought the fish in this place was great, until now. Recently I ordered a family meal to collect. The haddock was not haddock! It must have been a cheaper substitute, probably coley They do not have that on the menu and charged us for haddock. I will be looking to alternative shops from now on.

Great fish and chips. Tried both the dine in and takeaway service recently and hard to fault (large portion is large!). Definitely worth a visit.

Best ever. Flaking fish that was perfection. Beautifully cooked and such light batter. And I didn’t have to suffer the indigestion I usually have as a trade off for the pleasure of fish and chips. Premises also airy and light. Can’t recommend too highly.

Really clean, nice place. Staff are lovely and very helpful. The cod we ordered, were fresh and chips were really nice too, however the batter could be improved as it's bland. This impacts the flavour of the fish. Salad was fresh too and the price is not too bad considering the location.

Large cod, chips with mushy peas there feeds 3 of us happily every Friday evening. All produced fresh whilst you wait. It gets very busy Friday evening so phone and order in advance. Thumbs up from me
