The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because they don't do mushy peas. Apart from that great.

Hats off to the staff at this Chippy. They managed to make fish, chips, curry sauce and mushy peas all taste the same. Sadly 'the same' was plaster board. I'd have been better off eating the dog that had a dump outside.

Very good food and kind people I would totally recommend the kebabs

Apart from the odd mistake in the orders the food is actually really good. Pizzas are brilliant, the fish is always cooked perfectly and the chips aren't as greasy as alot of chippies in the area. Always met with a smile and you normally get a good laugh while standing waiting.

The worsrt over priced chippy ever !! Ordered my 1st delivery from this chip shop & was was amazed at the extortionate prices they are are charging for very average food. Not happy 😡

Food was great, chilli sauce was lovely and hot...just like the delivery driver and his driving, also seen him help an old lady across the road and get her purse that she dropped down the drain such a gentleman, hope he gets a bonus for his kind and considerate work!! 5*****

Worked in fish shop all my life.2.40 for peas and the fish was thin as paper.i said not paying 8.40 for it and was going to take a photo of fish.soon took off me and said I had no respect.yes I have respect but wasn't paying for what I've got severed

DO NOT BUY!! Fish supper-batter was thick, spongy, tasteless and cool. Fish was just lukewarm. King rib supper. Batter again thick, brick hard and inedible As for chips....far too many black ones, soft, undercooked and as greasy as Ive ever had the misfortune to buy. Dog ate the fish i took out from the batter and everything went in the bucket. Worst takeaway ever and a waste of just over £14. Never again. We will stick to the chippy across from Jedburgh Abbey, food always fabulous!

Seems it depends if fish cooked fresh or has been standing in the heater for hours. Mine was the latter - soggy, tasteless and very dissapointing. I have had far better

Was OK, there's something missing as the chips is OK but just missing that flavour. As if it's just cheap oil. Shame as the rest is very good. Polite staff, quick service.

To sum up: rude staff (especially the owner in particular) who can’t take criticism. Awful food- cold, chewy, tasted days old. Won’t be going back.

Can't imagine why anyone would rate this place as anything but dreadful unless they were either paid to do so or mates of the owner. Yes they are friendly but the fish and chips they served me must have been days old. To say I wouldn't give it to my dog is a gross understatement, If I could give this place minus stars I would do so. If this is the only take away food available at the time ( quite possible as it was for me )I would urge people to go hungry instead. Disgusting is too good a description. DO NOT EAT HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT. BETTER TO JUST THROW YOUR MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN.

Absolutely awful service shouted at down the phone and spoken to like a piece of dirt on his shoe all because he wouldn't give me a minute to get my address out in words won't be back and I hope this warns other people.

Very very poor service, Poor quality food that is reheated day after day until sold, information that the owner riza told me himself, shall not be using this place again, however if you're looking for a quality fish and chip shop then Mannos in St Boswells is a good place to order

Over £20 for 3 fish and 2 chips. Food cold. Batter rubbery and chips soggy and limp. A huge disappointment, as we were really hungry.

Spent 1690 and the chips where half cooked and the white puddings where cold in the middle and was rubbery when asked for it to be put back in the fryer and Ave had to come home to put it in the oven

Order a pizza which took 1/2 hours to get and its was dripping with oil and they had used cheddar cheese very poor standards

I arrived 10 minutes before closing. Asked for burger and battered sausage. I was given a lot more and charged for it all (50p reduced price) Food was stale and inedible. Total cost of food ordered £5.20 Charged £11 for 'free' end of night leftovers. Won't be going back again.

I use the Town House regularly. I am a lover of kebabs and theirs is the best in the Borders, but; I tried their " Chicken Kebab Calzone " just for a change and I am now a converted diner ! They are superb and has lifted my estimate of this establishment to one of the best and most consistent in the country !!! I can't recommend or praise them enough, please try them for yourself guys.

So disappointed, when first opened ,food was great but gradually declined. Tonight fish was stale in fact barely no fish at all . Also cost nearly £17 for 1fish and chips , 1 fish no chips , 1 haggis no chips . Will stick to Chinese and Indian in future and Coldstream fish and chips .

Purchased fish and chips tonight at 7.30pm. The fish was extremely poor obviously reheated, batter was stale and tough and fish inside was virtually non- existent. Well overpriced. Live too far away too take back. Rubbish.

The amount of things pre made and reheated in a place that didn't look busy, and the fact the blue surgical for touching food and food only, handed me my change, I don't think I need to go on 👌

Batter on sausages and white pudding tasted as though reheated - not fresh at all. Chips not much better. Very disappointed as we were starving 😶
