Really nice pub friendly staff we had the carvery but friend thrown up as soon as we got back home phoned the pub to say what’s gone on the person who we spoke to didn’t seem to bothered.

All round great place to go for food, good family environment to take the family out too

I really was an April fool going back here to try the carvery after a 4 year break.absolute disgrace. The food was drier than a week in the Sahara. 3 people in the pub and they had ran out of turkey-wtf. The lad on the till was pleasant and polite. When we demanded a refund before we even sat down, not one member of staff asked why. Never again, shut the doors and go over the jacobean.

Lovely friendly and helpful staff. A very enjoyable Sunday carvery meal for 12 people. Special mention for Rhys who attended our table and June.

Staying in local hotel but dined here, service by Reece was exceptional. Food was to a good standard and was excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend

The Tollgate Stonehouse is a great public house to go to for a Carvery. Prices are very reasonable and the cooking is good. There is a good choice of beers, wines and spirits. While you are there, if you fancy it, you can have a game of Pool as well. Car parking is free, spacious and well laid out.

I like everything about this place

From the outside the pub doesn't look special. Inside there is enough space and different zones, lots of regulars. The staff were helpful on our visit, the food was good and the atmosphere was traditional British pub. Apart from people smoking around the front entrance, a good experience.

The staff here always look after us, Emily in particular is always polite and happy to help.

Had a lovely family meal out this evening. Have never been to Tollgate Stonehouse before. We order a little of everything and fully enjoyed it all! Reece was very attentive and was always on hand. Food delivered hot and tables were cleared away quickly. Thank you! Will return again if we are in the area :)

Usually have nice food when attending but a bit disappointed with Sunday home delivery. Two slithers of fatty beef (mostly fat) on yesterday's order. The first time we ordered home delivery we got a tablespoon of gravey each.

Rhys served us and was polite, cheerful and attentive.

Food was great but there is definitely less meat given than last time we were here I would say by half. Service from Cara was great. Only let down was being placed by the chap that greeted us, in what seems to be the unofficial 'family' room which was quite noisy with a large group and was quite a way from the loos, (other side of the restaurant by the toy machine) which isn't ideal when you are with young children.

Kara was lovely and very friendly. The food was great value for money, nice family atmosphere and the loos were clean.

Good location, great service. The Carvery section - no problem. A good selection of meat, veggies to suit every taste and the gravy... good. Unfortunately we also ordered a burger... what a mistake. 2 microwaved patties between a bun. Not even an attempt to dress it with any salads or sauces... my son couldn't even get halfway through it. The most disappointing part is that we've eaten here before and really enjoyed our time here. Whatever changed, reverse it. The food was better before, or was it a one off?

Whilst I give it a 4 star review, I would like to question how Stonehouse can up the prices on a Friday saying they are week -end prices when in all my 69 years in the UK thought the week- end was Saturday and Sunday. I normally have breakfast mid- week but went in on a Friday. Please advise if the UK is classing Friday as a week - end or is it just Stonehouse and extra revenue.? This post is no reflection on your dedicated and hard working staff whom I trust get week- end pay for working days times on a Friday.

Review of The Tollgate Stonehouse We recently visited The Tollgate Stonehouse for a family meal, and I can confidently say it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The overall atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and just what we needed for a relaxing evening out with our two-year-old in tow. What really stood out to us, though, was the exceptional service, particularly from a young lad named Reece. From the moment we arrived, Reece was attentive, polite, and an absolute delight. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect for us—whether it was checking on our orders, offering helpful suggestions, or simply making sure we were all comfortable. Reece was especially thoughtful when it came to accommodating our little one, which can sometimes be a challenge in a busy restaurant. His cheerful and approachable attitude made such a difference and really put us at ease. The food was excellent, the setting was lovely, but the service from Reece is what truly made our visit special. We’ll definitely be coming back soon! I've given the place one star as there isn't an option for 0 stars, we venture out for a carvery, all of the food that was out on display was so dry it looked like it had been there for a few days. This is most definitely the worst meal I've had in my life 😩 the staff were very nice, however we were the only people in the pub. 👎👎

Reece was fantastic, good speedy service and made sure we felt accomodated

When I booked I had asked for a table with both disabled access, & against a wall as one of our party is hard of hearing, & that helps. When we arrived, a lovely member of staff called Grace, had given us a table in a quieter part of the restaurant that was closer to the disabled toilets. She also switched off the overhead music. One of our drinks orders had an issue that she quickly sorted out with a choice of alternatives, then brought the change back to us. She checked if we were OK with everything, which we were. She did all of this with a smile & a helpful disposition. She made our meal extra pleasant. We all enjoyed what we ate, 1 Scampi & 3 Carvery. As long as they have notice to your preferences/needs we've never had a problem here at the Tollgate.

Carvery was excellent! 12 people in our group and everyone had a great meal, staff were very friendly and helpful, it was my first visit but will definitely be back!

Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Tasty, well presented food. Only down side was the vegetarian sausages, they were over done and the flavour was extremely overpowering. But it wouldn't stop us returning

The tollgate is what it is one day Good next day not. this time, no Yorkshire pudding. Slow at bring them down . Good selection of veg but are getting less with meat .

The staff were brilliant and could not do enough for us. We brought a group of about 25 people for breakfast, Matt and Emily were so willing to make sure we were looked after. Highly recommend you make a visit. Great food and great service all round.

The tollgate is excellent for food and customer service. We attended today from a local church for a men's breakfast and they accommodated us either though they we're closed due to staff illnesses. I would highly recommend this place to others 5 STARS 🌟

Absolutely fantastic customer service from June she really made the experience a truly welcoming and enjoyable evening she was very accommodating and polite ,she couldn't do enough . I left feeling so valued as a customer and keen to return again . The food was also amazing and great customer service aswell from the chef euan he was also very polite . After today's food will defo be staying away, mushrooms where black n purple battered and soggy, eggs undercooked didn't even make it to the car with out being sick

What a lovely pub, warm and friendly atmosphere, and the food was great, and plenty of it too, Emily and Paula couldn’t have done enough for us, I’d recommend anyone to pop in, thank you all at the Tollgate.

Good staff friendly and helpful but also left you alone to eat your dinner which I did like. Maybe some more veg options on the carvery but overall lovely experience.
