The Tilley Lamp in Cookstown

Love Tilley Lamp it never fails to deliver on quality well presented food. The staff are amazing so friendly and extremely helpful with their suggestions if your not sure what to eat from a really great menu. Deborah in particular is a gem such a lovely warm welcome we always receive when we call in. We have had friends from Armagh Monaghan and Derry with us on various occasions and they were very impressed with every aspect of this great restaurant.

Called in whilst passing for a bite of lunch. Was fairly quite but it was Easter Saturday so that might have explained it. Staff very friendly and my lunch, which was a starter, was well presented and very tasty.

Just want to thank Gemma and all the staff for again making a family meal memorable, we had our son's Jack confirmation meal tonight and all 30 guests left very happy😊, thanks again Tilly lamp see you all again soon

The food was incredible, portion size was generous so it really hit the spot. The service was amazing, the staff were very attentive. It was a nice relaxed atmosphere and very good food served quickly and it would be hard to find fault at all. I will be back for sure!

Massive portions are what people come here for , a case of quantity over quality. Horses for courses but better food elsewhere. Friendly staff and a homely place

I recently visited this restaurant and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. On two separate occasions, I ordered a medium rare steak, but both times it was overcooked and well done. When I brought it to the attention of the staff, they took it back to the kitchen, but when the steak was brought out again, it was still well done. As a paying customer, I expect to receive the food I ordered, and it was frustrating to have to eat a well done steak that I didn't enjoy because it wasn't cooked as requested 4 times. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a steak dinner, veg and other stuff was delicious but the chef doesn't know how to cook a steak.

Beautiful meal, much more than I could eat. Really good value, lovely aesthetics and a warm atmosphere.

Steak very poor. Over cooked, greasy and very fatty. We had complained to our waitress but in receiving the bill the steak was still on it.We discreetly let the manager know as it was £20+ for a meal not ate that we were unhappy. She went away came back and explained she took only £10 off as we never advised them when the table check was done that we were unhappy. I explained that the table check was done within 2 minutes of our food being served to the table and that the person hadn't even tried their steak at the time. You could clearly see 3/4 of the steak was still on the plate when the waitress returned to our table. When i went up to pay the bill i again discretly said to the manager i wasn't entirely happy and that they should ensure staff give the customers at least 5 mins before doing a check back. The elderly gentleman who decided to join the conversation would need to learn how to speak to customers. Repeating that is our policy over was not necessary. If it's a policy that you enforce so much i would suggest having that stated somewhere clearly for future customers to be aware off! To pay £11 for 2 mash potatoes, carrots, peas and cauliflower cheese is ridiculous! We have been to the restaurant on so many occasions but the past few visits have been soo poor! May I add a simple apology would have went a long way! Not once did we hear the words, "we are sorry you had a bad experience" or "we are sorry your steak was off poor quality".

Roast beef dinner was delicious, meat just melted in your mouth. Everyone enjoyed their meal and great service from staff who were very attentive.

Great food and service. Portions are HUGE but delicious. Garlic fries are a must. They were able to accommodate a large and chaotic family birthday dinner. Very much reccomend. The only thing is that it can be noisy and overstimulating, so something to keep in mind for anybody with sensory issues or social anxiety triggered by crowds, noise or close spaces.

Great service and produce. But our food for the table was all consistently over cooked

Layonaise potatoes were grey and sitting in a bowl of oil, awful, sauce was supposed to be prawn and mushroom, not a prawn in it, just tasted of mushroom, daughter had steak and chicken, steak was full of grissel, will definitely not be back, prices are too high. Bad experience

Always a great dinner, and plenty to eat

My wife, son and his girlfriend went there for her birthday. I had the 10oz fillet steak and it comes with everything and you have a choice of any side. The steak was delicious and looked even bigger than 10oz, I was full and didn't have desert but the others did and said they were delicious. The service was excellent and the prices were reasonable, I would recommend it to anyone who wants a lovely meal that won't break the bank.

It's one of the best places I've been to for a meal. Food, service and staff are first class.

Lovely little pub unfortunately food not great. The curry was very salty, the chips where excellent. The baked trout, champ and cauliflower cheese was very bland, there was no seasoning at all.

The Tilley Lamp 🍔 was gorgeous and so was the first pint of Guinness I have had in almost two years.

I love the tilly lamp, the food is amazing with generous portions, it's very clean and the staff are friendly. Iv never had a bad experience here.

The perfect restaurant for those with an appetite. I tend to go there for Cheesy Chips with Gravy to Celebrate Canadian events. (Canadians call that Poutine)

Felt the minute we walked through the door we were under surveillance camera the entire time.Atmosphere was horrific.. The prices on the menu are absolutely extortionate for a restaurant in the country side..both myself and my mum got salads and our potato salad was off.I let the girl know who collected our plates quietly so she could alert the chef,when I went to pay for our meal the owner came and told me it wasnt off,that it just had an over powering taste of onions..Well I know what mayonnaise tastes like when it's off,and it most definitely didnt taste like onions. Wont be back.

Food ok, nothing special!! but owner I think his name is Enda was quite rude! Definitely won’t be back!!! Was gonna book a holy communion dinner there but not now!! He would need a lesson in manners!!!

Will not be back...dry chicken breast for £15.95...whaaat..a lumpy grey beige sauce turns it into a pepper chicken...unfortunately this is not the first time I've had a bad plate of food...and oh yes...the staff have no idea about what wines they in stock...!!!..no..will not be back..ever...

Traditional feeding and good size portions, pleasant staff and dining space. Nothing very adventurous on menu. Plus was the bacon and mushroom sauce which was umptious, the potato skins were abit disappointing as they seemed to have been kept warm under heat lamps.
