Went out of our way to come here to get veggie or vegan food as advertised. It appears all sweet things cakes scones etc etc are made with milk butter eggs. You can get a main apparently. So went for protein shake made with oat milk

I’m not terribly familiar with Cookstown so I consulted Trip Advisor to find a decent place for lunch. I wouldn’t have happened upon Lucy’s Loft otherwise but am really glad I read the other reviews and gave it a go. I had delicious (and hot!)vegetable soup with a half sandwich which cost just under £6. It came with a substantial side portion of chips (hot and not at all greasy) which I thought was excellent value. The oatmeal square that I had afterwards was delicious too. There was a steady trade while I was in and the staff were pleasant and friendly to everyone. I would certainly recommend Lucy’s Loft for lunch and if I’m in the area again I’ll definitely give it another go.

This is an example of where researching somewhere to have coffee in Cookstown paid off. A hot coffee and cherry scone that was comforting and hit the spot. The other food that was served looked good also. Staff welcoming and very good.

Lunch was superb. Not haute cuisine but without deficit. We hoped for a quick 'ordinary' lunch but what a surprise. Friendly efficient staff. Good choice of food. Coleslaw was in the top 1% of any that we have tasted. Everything seemed to be freshly cooked but there was no undue delay. Ingredients top class. Puddings - we only had one each but other choices looked equally good (what we ate was excellent). Decent coffee. And the overall price was surprisingly modest.

Every time we go to Cookstown and visit the fantastic CFC Interiors shop ( visit Stephen in curtains and fabrics, Louise in carpets and Anya in giftware) we feel compelled to go for a cuppa or for lunch upstairs in Lucy's Loft. The food is excellent (it has justly been awarded a 5 rating), tasty and all the homebaked goodies are almost irresistible, especially the roulade, banoffee, lemon meringue and the apple tarts. We have never been disappointed and the coffee is 'perfecto', the cappuccinos are "made with love" according to one of the staff! The owner (I presume that is Lucy) and her friendly and helpful staff are always welcoming and the place is definitely worth a visit.

Husband and I had lunch here one busy Saturday. The waiting staff handled the crowds brilliantly. We both opted for the special menu Shepard's pie (just like Mammy used to make!) which was served with chips and coleslaw - belly busting. We had eyed up some red velvet cake prior to our meal, however, we couldn't even manage to share it we were so full! The cakes looked spectacular and i promise i'll be back for tea and cake in the near future.Recommended.

Called in here after reading other reviews and I have to say we were not disappointed. Gluten free and vegetarians highly catered for. My gf daughter had sausages and toast. She loved it. My other daughter and I had veggie paninis and my youngest had a bacon and pepper sandwich-all excellent! Coleslaw on the side was perfect! My daughter also had the berry protein shake which she thought was delicious. Great to go to a place that encourages healthy eating! Staff were very attentive and Lucy herself was really informative about her gf menu! Highly recommend eating out here.

Had lunch here while on business. It was busy and nicely laid out. I had the soup and wheaten bread. The bread was lovely but the vegetable soup far too peppery which did spoil it my colleague agreed as she had the same. The traybakes did look delicious but did not try. I would come back but would try something other than the soup. The service was very good and staff pleasant and welcoming.

A lovely young man in the Tourist Information recommended this small cafe to me as it was halfway to the hotel we was staying in. The loft is located in a very nice furniture shop about 10 mins walk out of Cookstown. There were lots of different styles of sandwiches on offer along with many other lunch choices. The cakes and desserts looked amazing but I was so full after my fab sandwich unfortunately I had to decline. I would definitely recommended eating here as the food was delicious.

If you want to relive the heyday of high teas, you should book one at the Royal Hotel, Cookstown. Our party of 7 was treated to an old-style dining experience, in bright and tastefully decorated surroundings, thanks to our excellent waitress. Roslyn's attention to detail and to our dining needs were exceptional. We had what seemed to be three bottomless tea pots on the go; delicious sandwich fingers with an assortment of tasty savoury fillings; scones, jam and cream; muffins and a variety of exquisite slices all placed on three towering cake plates - a veritable cornucopia. At regular intervals Roslyn and her staff checked if we needed refills, that we were comfortable, provided boxes for us to take home excess goodies, and even demonstrated her excellent skills as a photographer, ably capturing our reunion of Northern Irish and Australian cousins for posterity. At all times Roslyn was professional, unobtrusive, polite, friendly, and caring - reminding us of days gone by when dining out was an absolute pleasure thanks to excellent cuisine served by staff who provided outstanding and friendly service.
