The hotel owners were so flexible. The location is great for heading into the beacons and the rooms are clean and tidy and there were nice touches like Welsh cakes 😎

Really nice hotel, decor is beautiful yet quirky and unique in its own way, rooms are comfortable, staff very friendly and accommodating. Decent prices for its very central location, parking is just 2 min away on foot, and breakfast options are very affordable. Would definitely recommend.

We stopped for 3 nights and were made to feel very welcome.The Tiger has a few quirks but once you get used to them it's great. Lots of steps to the rooms & no lift was the only downside. The food is great.We highly recommend the Chicken&Leek pie😋

What is good about this hotel: ====≈=================== - Clean and modern rooms. - A good bath - Good location - comfortable bed - Excellent service - An attractive price relatively. What is not good about this hotel: =========================== - There is no elevator - There is no parking at the hotel, but we found parking in a nearby parking lot, free parking on Sunday - The rooms aren't so big.

The Tiger is like stepping back in time ! A beautiful stylish building,very tastefully decorated with excellent customer service. My room was lovely and the bed so comfortable, I didn't want to get out of it !! It was my first time in this amazing establishment, but I have already booked another 2 stayes ! Sue has excellent customer service also Shania. If you want to stay in an elegant establishment right in the center of Merthyr Tydfil, look no further than the Tiger Inn! Many thanks Phillip Stevens

Really helpful and detail oriented staff. Lovely coffee and cake with reasonable price. The cake was very tasty and well presented, coffee size was extraordinary.

A quick visit while returning home, and found staff friendly, as we hadn't booked a table found a place in the snug. Chose pub classics of fish and chips, and lasagna, both did not disappoint, as the fish was moist and the lasagna had flavoursome beef.. and although only a brief visit would recommend the short diversion from the A roads.

28 High StreetAfter hearing mixed reviews of this establishment, mostly positive I must add I was keen to sample the menu. I ordered the MIXED GRILL which at £28.99 was rather pricey. It was served with chips and so I asked the waitress to replace the chips with jacket and nothing else was mentioned. The meal arrived within a short period of time and whilst tasty, was rather small for the price. The Cumberland sausage was a singular item, as I was expecting the traditional curled version. When the bill arrived I found that the policy is to charge customers £2 extra for a jacket potato! Whilst I challenged this I was told 'IT'S MENTIONED ON THE MENU AND THAT'S HOW WE PRICE IT' So, a mixed grill meal with jacket costs £31 and if you want a pint of soda water and blackcurrant that's an extra £2.80. Left very disappointed and within an hour of which, I found I was hungry the small serving. Staff were extremely pleasant and service prompt and efficient, I found the meal and drinks a rip off, for what you get. I won't be returning. Much cheaper drinks and better quality meals to be found locally.
