Good Friend Takeaway in Merthyr Tydfil

Probably the best Chinese in the area, not that there is too much competition. Food always tastes fresh and hot. Chef is a delightful lady. Will it knock your socks off? probably not, but you wouldn't have reason to complain either, a solid effort every time.

Food is beautiful pipping hot and quick delivery and large portions I would recommend crispy shredded beef ,salt and pepper chicken and the salt and pepper chips are stunning highly recommend.

Lovely food, a tad expensive but there's enough for left overs the next day, depending on what you order obviously. Food is delivered within time set and always hot.

Ordered food at 6:30pm food still wasn’t here at 8:30pm, called through to be told that our food is only now being cooked.. asked for manager to only being passed to a delivery driver who had terrible attitude and spoke to us like we was something on the bottom of her shoe! Disgraceful service

Tried for first time today and delighted. Prawns in oyster sauce, chicken In pepper and black bean sauce, egg fried rice, and chips. Delivery arrived at time advised, food delicious, and huge portions. Friendly delivery person. Thanks and we will be back!

This is one of 3 Chinese Take-Away Restaurants within a few metres of each other. So the extreme competition seems to result in high quality food. I'm always impressed with not only the quality but the quantity and value for money. One very strange and old fashioned business practice, is the refusal of each of these take-away food supplies to ever take Credit/Debit Cards and they'll only take cash. This was predominant during the COVID-19 Emergency when almost every other business converted to, "NO Cash" policy. Parking is easy and I gather you can phone orders through and I think delivery is available.

Tried for first time Weds and won't be returning. Food tasteless and bland think most of it had been reheated a few times. Noodle were like strings of rubber and no been beansprouts in the Chow Mein. King Prawns looked disgusting and strange in colour. Curry sauce was like water and again tasteless. Hate putting bad comments but sorry it the truth most went in the bin with their menu.

Have had a few meals from here.food is always hot and really tasty.fab customer service.the delivery man is fab.wont be buying food from any where else.

Huge portion, cheap and delicious

Salt n pepper King prawns are stunning but I agree the bbq and curry sauce are terrible.

Arrived nice and hot food was ok don't think I'd order again bit put off by the sauces way to thick and I thought the bbq sauce was gravy it was like black tar
