The Tides Pizzeria in Adur

We had a disappointing experience at this pizzeria. The service was incredibly slow, and the pizzas were flavorless with dry dough. When we compare it to another branch of the same brand where we usually go and enjoy fresh and fluffy dough along with exceptional service, this visit was really disappointing. It's a shame that the quality didn't live up to our expectations. It's unfortunate that this place is in a prime location but doesn't take good care of its customers.

Completely and utterly dreadful. During the 1.5 hours that we waited for our food, they made dozens and dozens of pizzas for UberEats, Deliveroo etc. When ours eventually did come, they were wrong and had to go back. The German waitress (Bianca?) was very apologetic and the owner offered us a free cup of tea by way of an apology. Yes - a cup of tea!! They should close the (freezing cold) restaurant and concentrate on takeaway. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

A hidden gem of a pizzeria. Well worth a visit.

Went for lunch with friends, warm welcome from the owner, prompt service and for someone that's not a pizza fan, (our friend dragged us cause she wanted us to try this place) we were won over. This took me back to holidays in Italy, freshly made pizza in a proper pizza oven, with fresh ingredients. Will definitely be back with my famiy who are all pizza fans!

Highly recommend, proper Italian experience,friendly and sure beats domino's and pizza hut.

Lovely freshly made pizza's with excellent range of toppings. Although we had dine in, they were busy with takeaways and deliveries, the service was good. On street parking right outside, pay for parking 100m up the road.

We made a reservation and found ourselves in a rather unfortunate situation. Upon entering the establishment, it was immediately evident that it had transitioned into a take-away only venue. The lack of plates and cutlery on our table, along with the absence of any acknowledgment from the staff, was disheartening. To our surprise, a blonde waiter occupied a nearby table, casually enjoying her pizza without attending to the restaurant's only seated guests, us. With a young child in tow, we decided to settle down and even fetched a highchair for our little one. After a few more minutes of waiting, I signaled for attention, only to be asked if we were there for a collection order. I responded, "No, we had a reservation." The response I received was rather awkward, "Oh, it's you. There's an hour wait." This statement left us perplexed, as the entire place was empty, suggesting that the queue was primarily for take-away orders. Typically, when you make a booking for dine-in, there's some degree of priority. Regrettably, no effort was made to accommodate our situation, and we were left with no alternative but to leave. This experience was unlike any other, and it's safe to say we won't be returning to this establishment.

What a wonderful surprise. Looks can be deceiving. From the outside Tides suggests almost a delivery/collection operation - with a few tables inside and out. But we were warmly greeted (our dog too!). Seated by the window, just as the sun broke through after the downpour, we opted to share the Breaded Whitebait with Garlic Mayo - they were delish! D chose the Tides Vegetarian Pizza, me the Spicy-Smokey. Both were indulgent delights. A proper decent amount of toppings (not always the case with Pizza establishments these days!). Waitress was service with a smile, too.

Amazing Pizzas! The pizza base is the best we have tasted with plenty of topping. Lovely cappuccino too. Service was very friendly and quick. We went on a Tuesday so not as busy as the weekends. Been here a few times now and never disappointed.

Food was tasty and reasonably priced. Service was okay; efficient but not particularly friendly. Can only give the atmosphere 1 star, as we were the only table in the restaurant. We would return.

Absolutely fab pizza ! Really hot and freshly made in wood fired oven on show. Very tasty and good sized too. Highly recommended

Took over 35mins got order wrong served other people before us and the gluten free pizza was put on a Normal base. The men behind the counter tried to blame the waitress utterly unprofessional. Disappointing as have had pizza before and it was good but just lost some customers.

We might not have even looked twice at this restaurant if we'd have just walked past it on the street, but the reviews for the pizzas here were very good. It was a wet, dreary night and no-one was eating here but we took a chance. We ordered a very nice bottle of red wine and ordered from the very pleasant man who was also the chef. It was obvious he prepared and baked just for us in the open kitchen, and when he brought it to us it smelled delicious. The pizzas were crunchy and generous in topping. My partner ordered Diavola with spicy jalapeno, and I a Florentine special. We were hungry and these were very big! We managed to eat all but a few crusts! We will definitely eat here when we return to Shoreham - an excellent and unexpected total delight!

Forgot Domino's... Forgot Pizza Hut... Get yourself a proper authentic Italian pizza from these guys. Without a doubt the best pizza I've had in years. Amazing quality ✔️ Friendly staff✔️ Reasonable price ✔️ Great service ✔️

Had the lamb soup and a pork bun, the flavours are far more subtle than the average high street Chinese. Make sure you ask for some of their chili oil for a bit of spice. I followed this with some sticky rice with dates, again unlike any other chinese food I'd ever eaten. Definitely want to return to try the other items on the menu.

Very busy day we pre booked. Roast was okay . Not everyone enjoyed it . We had tabled of 8. Service was okay think they could have been more prepared as lots of people came up and sat outside feel the restaurant were not reafy for that volume of people on a sunny day. On the upside puddings lovely . Not sure if having to order food at the bar is the best personable experience. Maybe have outside service like that and the restaurant have waitress / waiter service. Then you would get less mistakes. Jx

Ordered takeaway pizza to collect. Food was good, and the staff were friendly.

Went for lunch New Years Day,had a most pleasant experience, on an unpleasant day weatherwise,the atmosphere & ambience was delightful,as was the greeting by the owner,I am not a pizza lover,but I had chicken & jalopino topping which was delicious & very spicy,washed down with a cool & tasty cider,my wife had a fennel sausage & walnut topping,again a great choice,she could'nt finish it,the portions are generous,she was provided with a box to take the remainder home,she tried a rhubarb & ginger gin & tonic,that went down really well, pricewise was well worth it,it will become a regular haunt

We love this restaurant. We always order the seafood pizza and another with ham and mushrooms etc. Authentic Italian style. The waiters are really friendly and the food came in good time for a relaxed lunch. We had fun watching a couple of very rude families who 1. Let their kids run around the restaurant as if it was their living room; and 2. berated the waiter when their order for 10 people!! hadn’t arrived after 5 minutes. The woman was literally having a tantrum while her kids quietly observed. It was to be expected I guess these days when we are forced to watch the entitled white middle classes acting with complete disdain for others.

The pizzas are exceptional! Very good service. Very inviting atmosphere. Comfortable seating, attractive surroundings. My daughter and I highly reccommend The Tides, best pizza ever. !!

We absolutely love both of The Tides pizzerias (the other is on Upper Shoreham Road). They are by far, the best pizzas in Shoreham and worth every penny. My wife loves the gluten free base. The service is always friendly, despite how busy they get at weekends. We will certainly be returning!

God knows how many chances we've given this place and yesterday the 31 of July 2022 is definitely the last. It's a shame as the pizzas are really good but the people who run it are on another planet. Items missed every single time we've ordered,absolute chaos in the kitchen, never on time and same old excuses, we've been really busy, when the place was empty. The last time we went to eat in,we were told by a customer that they waited over an hour for a pizza. I said to the management before we sat down ,were not going to ha e to wait that long for a pizza are we. His response was,we've been really busy 😆 🤣 but everything is fine now. We sat down and after 20 minutes passed ,still waiting for someone to ask us if we would like a drink,got up and walked out. I don't think I've ever had a smooth experience at this shockingly, unprofessionally run restaurant, my advice avoid and go elsewhere, you have been warned.

Order online and expect a bit of a delay though the food is worth the wait so deal with the it! Hot weather expect more delays though the quality stays good!

We had 2 great pizzas made in what I believe is a wood fired owen. Highly recommended. Look forward to the next visit.

Awful customer service, although the pizza didn't taste bad we had to wait over an hour standing in the shop for it after being told it would be 30 mins. Terrible experience and wouldn't go there again.

'Not good' if you asked me to describe the service I had in this shop tonight. Online ordering wouldn't accept my payment, so went into the shop, told they were very busy so wait 30-40 mins. Went back to the shop 30mins later only to wait another 20mins for my order. Each time they came to serve me they'd forgotten another item off my order. Won't be visiting again.

Really slow service. Waited 30 min from clearing the plates to getting the bill.

Super slow eat in service. Don't mind if short staffed but should warn when we come in to give a choice. All anticipation of nice meal out gradually ebbs away as you wait, until you just wish you had never arrived. Pizzas OK when finally came, but nothing special.

We have ordered a few times now for delivery and even though a little further out than where we would normally order from have always been impressed that the food is still hot to eat when it arrives, really tasty fresh food and not expensive, good portions, always deliver on time! Fab place! totally recommend!

Really tasty authentic Italian pizza. As a vegetarian I don't normally have pizza because I find the topping choices are poor from takeaways, however this is not the case at Tides they have proper fresh vegetables and add on options too. Friendly staff, checking everything is OK and asking if you need anything else. At the end of the meal the owner asked us our option on the food which is rare but fantastic service, it showed he cared that you are happy and enjoyed your food. Every restaurant should do this.

Pizzas are excellent now. They were ok before the current chef was in there but they are really good now. It's open most of the time too which not a lot of the other Italian places are.

Really lovely wood fired pizza and sweet potato fries - the best. Service was excellent - a delightful waitress who was very attentive and pleasant during our meal at the Pizzeria.

Popped in for light lunch. Our choices 2 Latte coffees @ 2.75 = 5.50 2 Whitebait @ 3.95 = 7.90 1 warm Apple Tart 3.00 1 cheesecake 3.00 The 2 deserts were served with 1 scoop of ice cream, which we weren't expecting, and didn't ask for. Cost of the ice cream was 3.90. The menu in house did not mention ice cream with the dessert. Hence bill was 23.30. Should have been 19.40. Didn't realise until later, so watch your bill. Restaurant was totally empty at 2.15, waiter seemed bit disinterested. Won't be returning.

Genuinely some of the best pizzas I've had - especially the artisan. The chef is super friendly and staff are great.

Would suggest to the owner they sack off the online ordering 3rd party yo-yo. Takes money but doesn't place an order. Easier to order by phone. Confuses the manager and the customer.

Pizza and salad were very nice .. a little too busy on Saturday night so our order collection was slow ... but worth the wait.

Had lunch with a friend. Doesn't look much but boy what a find!! Excellent quality pizza! I think this was the best pizza I have had in the UK in all my years. As ever I can't guarentee you get the same experience, but definately recommend!

Went on Sunday it was hot weather and understandably the restaurant was going to be busy with orders, we understand there may be a delay in food etc, what we was puzzled about was the fact they was so rude we waited 50 minutes to collect to arrive and have the wrong order we was blamed and apparently it was our fault we showed them the confirmation email what we ordered and they still argued with us saying they don’t sell those items ... waited another 40 minutes about to leave and they forgot the chicken nuggets... finally got to the beach where we realised they forgot the chocolate fudge cake.. they had non stop phone calls and orderd coming in but couldn’t cope with the orders, stop thinking about all the money and focus on actually making the orders you already have, pizza wasn’t even cut up we had to rip with our hands to eat, food was pretty tasteless, I never ever do reviews but for this place I had to do one cause it was that bad would never return save your money!!

We called in here for some lunch after a bracing walk by the sea. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was authentic, tasty and good value. I would definitely recommend this pizzeria.

Had our 1st pizza delivery from Tides Old Shoreham Road and were impressed.Had 4 different orders and all first class,lovely crispy bases and plentiful toppings.Will certainly order again.Delivery was also very prompt.

Our first visit here, we are returning again this week! Excellent food. Salads to start were generous and tasty. 4 different pizzas ordered. All were generously topped, full of flavour, good quality ingredients. Thin bases, crispy edges. All arrived at same time, all hot. Perfect. Wine was nice, reasonably priced too. Good service. Tables very spaced out. Staff all masked. Only grumble would be people coming in to collect pizzas and sometimes waiting were not wearing masks, nor insisted on doing so. A sign on door should make this mandatory as in most other establishments.

Great take away pizzas, perfectly cooked with good service. Customer safety has been carefully considered. We will visit again soon.

half the time with pizzas you kind of 'neglect' the crusts, but the dough is so nice with these!! i enjoyed just eating the crust on it's own! sweet potato fries are amazing too!! will definitely be going again!

So angry and disappointed with Tides.. Firstly ordered from the beach restaurant but they sent my order to Upper Shoreham Road.. When I went to collect from the beach I waited outside for 10 minutes and no one came to me when I was knocking on the door.. by the time i was let in and informed that the pizza was at the other restaurant my pizza had been sat in the box for 30 minsTook it home - the Gluten Free pizza was under cooked - had to put it in the oven.. the hawaiian tasted like the cheese was off and the ham was disgusting.. the pizza was horrendous..Basically was a waste of £24.. When I emailed I didn't even get a sorry just an email that felt like it said 'this is a you issue not an us issue' Do not use!!Shame I have to give them any stars

A trip to shoreham beach during lockdown early evening meant food was a necessity. we sampled the scampi and fish and chips was far better than the local fish shop and such pleasant service-despite the crowds social distancing and hand sanitisation was prevalent and reassuring

Lovely seaside take out. I’ve been going to this restaurant since the day it opened. Yesterday although very busy, the service was fantastic; and the food didn’t take long to be served given the queue! Always very friendly and the pizza is consistently delicious. I had a tuna pizza off the specials board today (went back again ! ) and it completely cured my hangover and was delicious. I reccomend to anyone.

Incredible service and the pizza is just to die for!We had a special garlic bread and a cream based pizza with some San Pellegrino limonatta. Owener is super friendly, the restaurant looks freshly decotared and super clean. We went there after a walk on the beach and finding this place was the cherry on top for an amazing day out.

Absolutely shocking customer service, don’t get me wrong lovely pizza, but order it 2 hours before you want it, and forget any discount codes you might receive from their email address because they don’t work but apparently it’s got nothing to do with them! but once they’ve teased you into ordering a pizza be prepared to wait, nearly 2 hours but apparently that’s nothing to do with them either, every week since lockdown we’ve spent nearly £40 every week with them and not even a sorry, honestly as I said lovely pizza but business like this with absolutely no regard to customer service shouldn’t have customers. Order from those that care, shocking.

Ordered twice from there. First time was Ok, slightly burnt. Second time was terrible, burnt all around and it tasted average...like a Dominoes. Plus I had to wait 20 extra minutes for the collection. F*ck going there ever again.

Just tried for the first time a pizza from Tides in Shoreham. The takeaway pizza was excellent and the garlic bread and chips too and so reasonably priced. Would recommend it and def use the takeaway service again.

We came here after government had put restrictions on this place being a restruant but we waitied for the pizza and had take away on teh beach. Pizzas were fantastic and good value. Great place if you are on Shoreham beach.

Visited twice. Will not be returning. Far too salty. Unhealthy. Thought may have been unfortunate on first visit., but second time both the base & filling ruined by excess salt.

We went to the new tides restaurant on upper Shoreham road last night, the staff were polite and friendly, nice atmosphere and the pizza was amazing! There was four of us and we all had different pizzas and they were all fabulous. We will definitely go back.

Geat guy very friendly had good chat. I got a take away pizza tonight nice clean place ! Was the best pizza ive had for sometime got a free beer also would highly recomend to anyone ! X

My first visit to The Tides was excellent in every way. We were greeted warmly on arrival, our order was taken quickly and our pizzas arrived within ten minutes. They were tasty, filling and cooked just right. We were able to have a leisurely meal, without any pressure from the staff.

Always delicious pizza, salad and fries. Sit in or out, or take out and sit on the beach. Great service, friendly atmosphere, lovely environment. It gets busy - you might have to wait - it's worth it! Highly recommend.
