The Tichenham Inn in Hillingdon

Lovely pub but don’t go there to eat. Went with the kids for an easy dinner. Waitress did know what she was doing and even came over to collect the plate from the table, while we were still eating! Asked for a plain burger, it came with salad and covered in sauce. Got chips for my 2 year old and they were more like salt with chips. I myself couldn’t eat them, there was so much salt on them! Overall go for a drink, go else where to eat.

No longer a Wetherspoons despite still having the original Wetherspoons-stylised frontage for 9 months since it became independent, which is misleading to people who are specifically looking for one. The signage really should be replaced to give the pub it's own identity as an independent sports bar.

I was watching the horse racing for Cheltenham and decided I needed something to eat and I had a Tich Burger which honestly was one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten.. Strongly recommend and will be having one next time.

So as many locals will know weatherspoons stopped managing this pub last May and since then we had new owners and a couple of independent in house food suppliers. The first ones we won’t talk about but the latest really have got it together and created a practical and tasty menu. They started a roast service on the 26th jan and to be honest it was not good but am pleased to say since then not only have they listened to the customer they have learned lessons in where to buy produce and time lines on how long it takes to create an order. On Sunday just gone I tried again a roast and have to say it was fantastic. Yes they still have a few bits to tweak but wow night and day on their first attempt. Some menu items are going as although nice hold up the cooking process and are are being created as they are quick and tasty. The Korean wings for example are just amazing and highly recommended. I really think those who have dismissed the food give it a second go as it really has come on leaps and bounds. As for the pub lots of choices, fair prices and all of the sports on one or all of 6 TVS and live music on Friday and Sat nights

Breakfast at The Tichenham. The most valuable piece of advice that I can offer for patrons wishing to breakfast at The Titchenham Inn is - don't! Move up or down the street and find somewhere else. This is by no means a reflection on the pub itself. The food operation in this 'Moon on the something' pub is run by an independent company. Unfortunately it is run spectacularly badly. Our visit was on a quiet Sunday in February in search of a half-decent brunch. We got 50% of our ambition with 'half-decent' a distant second. Having waited a long, long time for our order to be taken; what followed next seemed like an eternity. The service is beyond slow. I assumed that the coffee from the bean-to-cup machine was bottomless to help pass the time but unfortunately it broke down after the first cups. After a polite enquiry to a (very understanding but completely helpless) member of staff the breakfast eventually arrived. Your experience might well be different (I hope that it is) but the food is definitely below par for the price. We have added some photographs, in part because it was more fun photographing the food than eating it. If a sausage is described as 'premium' it carries and expectation of quality and 'mass'. The sausages are not premium. That is a lie. The fried eggs were completely burned on the bottom, yet they managed to cleverly arrange for upper parts to be partially cooked. Toast. Toast is not warmed-through white Mother's Pride. You should be able to identify areas of browning on the surface. Look at the bacon. I will not dignify it with the word 'rasher'. It is a small, dry, paper-thin sheet of could-be-bacon. Believe it or not, if you wanted a second slice that's a quid onto the price! Apart from that, everything was fine.

most succulent, crispy and tantalising roast i’ve ever had. never once before has a roast dinner shocked me this much. absolutely fantastic display of a chefs skill. service great also.

Food was absolutely delicious and great service, would highly recommend the beef stew and curry, kids loved the chicken wings better then wings stop I was told :) Would be a lovely pub if had a makeover.

I didn't realise that this was no longer a wetherspoon pub! But I was pleasantly surprised! The menu was still as affordable - coffee, although £2.70 was refilable! So I had a couple of cups. Staff friendly- pub is split into bar and restaurant but both ends worked well together! Had a very nice full breakfast! (£8.95) 😁

Portion size is a disgrace. Sausage bap for £3.95 and you get ONE small sausage cut in half. So poor and basic. Don’t get it.

The kitchen has just started doing an amazing new menu, grilled, Asian and traditional pub food. I had steak and fries which came out sizzling. Previously I've had the Vietnamese beef stew which was perfect for this time of year. A great friendly pub and lots of screens showing multiple sports.

I definitely recommend a visit. A++++ new food menu is amazing and great value for money. Service outstanding. The atmosphere is great and to watch sports they have few screens.

It's still a pub, and I'm not so keen on the music drowning out conversation, but 9.5/10 for the food and service. We'll be back.

Food came out cold when sent back felt bar tender looked down on you as you was sending food back certainly will not be going back anytime soon as I have used this pub before and had a good experience that’s why i took my family there again on this day now it’s not a Wetherspoon certainly will be going elsewhere.

If you enjoy watching your favourite football team whilst sharing a pint or seven with your mates, then this is a great place for you. A bit pricey on the drinks but still a good pub for food and drink compared to many other places.

It’s a Weatherspoons, it did what it was supposed to do; a quick bite and a pint at an affordable price. There is WiFi available too. Not been for quite a while and the prices seem to have crept up. It was quite empty but still great at lunchtime. It’s NOT a Spoons anymore. New Management, new ownership. Now run by Hennessy 🤷🏼‍♂️

Things have changed since it's a weatherspoons. No deals on drinks. The food is more expensive. It's not the same vibe or people that were there before.

New owners, more expensive prices (150% on fish and chips plus a drink) and young men serving swearing 'f-words' and laughing across the bar to customers! The latter undermining other staff who put a brave face on what was a well attended a now mainly empty pub! The final nail: students that nursing drinks and texting, whilst listening to music from an era they can't understand. Shall we give it a year before it folds? Less?

Wetherspoons have dropped this pub and it’s now run independently. The beer was good quality, I didn’t try their food. The place is looking dated and hopefully the new owners will refresh the decor.

The quieter Spoons in this town. It will close soon, I believe in June? Reopening under new premises. I have come here for fish Friday when I worked near this area and I still come here when my schedule allows. End of a era.

Food was average. Staff were poor aside from 1 member of staff.

Had a bit of time to kill, so tried this spoons. Didn't have any food. Ordered a pint of San Miguel, cost 4 44 if I remember correctly. Trouble was it was so bad it was undrinkable. I left most of it. This review is not meant to knock Wetherspoons, I remember when spoons came to our rescue and introduced price competition into the pub trade. But I do believe they have lost their way. The beer is the main thing, spoons need to remember clean, pubs with good cheap food and drink, is so important,, maybe they need to look at staff levels too. I won't be visiting spoons until they sort themselves out. Well maybe a week or two.

Love "The Tich". Everything you expect from Wetherspoons (in a good way!) I used to visit once a week for one of their delicious breakfasts, but circumstances have changed and I can’t continue. Curry night is very good, but also very popular, so you can’t always get the curry you want.

Great Spoons Pub. Rumour it's closing once the lease is up and reverting back to a Hennessey Pub. Currently under spoons pipes are clean great selection of beers etc all at a great price in a friendly pub.

absolutely disgusted with the customer service of this place!!! i would leave 0 stars if i could! The Manager Jodie is extremely rude and doesnt know how to communicate with people in a civil manner. I never take the time out to leave reviews but this needs to be said...I went to my local pub for a few drinks with the family....as you do. and to be told after 2 drinks that we were no longer welcome is beyond belief. Ive never heard of a PUB that doesnt want to serve you after a few. Jodie the manager said we had been there 5+ hours and drank too much. i didnt know 2 drinks in 2 hours was an issue, i had only been out of work for 3hrs so how could i be in there for that long? i would understand if we were a problem but we were out of the way minding our own business. theres no wonder why the place is empty, and run down not to mention the rats running around in the kitchen and nobody seems to care. after seeing this i felt sick its disgraceful how the managers allow this pub to be run. My family and i will be telling everyone about our horrible experience and about the discrimination we have been subjected too. Steer clear, if you want somewhere friendly with a family environment this place is verrrrrryyy far from it!!!!

Stay away from the American cheese burger!!! Has a really off putting smell. The gherkin is far too big for the burger. I made a remark to staff as they brought another plate of food I had to order to replace my burger choice but not interested in my complaint and walked off, guess they don't care as I already paid for it on the app. The chicken tikka masala is great. So is the linghams garlic sweet chilli sauce.

Have been going to this pub for a while normally for breakfast and up until today couldn’t fault it, ordered breakfast it arrives and I start to eat and find the beans are cold, the eggs have that snotty texture one of the hash browns are not cooked as well as no toast. I informed the bartender, she takes it away 5 minutes later it comes back and I get told I’m lucky because they have given me extra. Dumped warm beans on top of the cold ones and supplied the toast. Such a shame as it was all good up until today.

Visiting family we went for Saturday evening meal. Lovely warm atmosphere, quick polite service and everything was delicious.......and cheap! Will certainly visit again.

First time in here, though been to many other Weatherspoon pubs. Enjoying our chilled 3x Hooch offer - in this freezing weather and our food ( fish and chips and Chicken Tikka Masala Staff are very good Disabled Toilet is clean

It was quite busy so quite a din but there was still a nice atmosphere, with quick service. We had the sausage chips & beans which was very nice, followed by the chocolate fudge cake with ice cream, which was also very nice. The tea and coffee with free refills is very good value.

Very disappointed to hear that the Tichenham Inn is closing next year. This wetherspoons is a staple in the Ickenham community and has the best friendly atmosphere of any other wetherspoons pub I have been to in London. Really hope they change their minds on this one

Dear Sir / Madam I am writing to inform you of my disgust in the unprofessional actions and customer service from your members of staff at your venue last Saturday, refusing to serve 21 year old guests with true and totally genuine ID. The way they dismiss any form of reasoning about the validity of ID is little more than deplorable. An infrared ID check device would be useful and proper training in ID checks would save you embarrassment. The team are rude, stuck up and not at all friendly. Your recent reviews show how downhill this place has gone.

Tables and glasses were dirty. Food just about ok, but then it is a Weatherspoon. Husband had mixed grill and the pork was pink inside. Staff were scruffy and unfriendly, all but one.

Learnt today that this lovely pub is to close next summer which is sad news to those that regularly use it. This is such a wonderful hub for the local community and I just hope that the CEO can come and see this and have a change of heart.

Warning to all those under 25 years old.... A guest of mine was refused alcohol during a family meal at this pub because the manager could not 'scan' an officially accredited and approved PASS logo ID. This is apparently a permanent issue. The refusal of this official ID totally contradicts the company website which says that this form of age verification is allowed. Neither the manager nor their head office were willing to explain this contradiction. The company's customer service department has failed to respond to my last email when I asked for an executive office contact, despite keeping things honourable and polite. This experience spoiled a family meal and the poor lack of response afterwards has just rubbed salt into the wound. The response of the employee at their Customer Services afterwards simply brushed us off with what seemed to be a poorly worded generic response. All of this means I will now take my future business elsewhere. Very disappointing indeed, especially as the family was out for a celebration. Be warned if you have a family member or guest that looks under 25 or indeed you yourself, if wanting to drink alcohol.

Poor service! No sense of customer service and how to handle unhappy customers! This comes from the lady who served us and manager too! Very disappointed! I would go as far as to say there was some level of profiling but all we got were excuses from staff and management! Regret going and won’t go back! Very disappointing! I give 2 stars because the guy behind the bar was awesome and seemed to enjoy his job!

Went there before watching the football. Spent quite a bit of money and wa interacting with all the fans in a sociable and friendly way. My brother and I were then informed the opposing fans bought us some food which we obviously felt we he had to eat as they were sat next to us. As my brother went to the bar to order some more drinks he was abused by manager saying we ate some other tables food. I went to the bar to clear the up the matter and I said that the opposing fans said they bought us the food hence we felt obliged to eat it but the real issue was your staff bringing food to the wrong table! I offered to even pay for the meal even though the issue was not ours! Obviously they refused as they knew it was their issue. The manager said my brother had leave even though they took no accountability and provoked the situation. Manager lacked skills and needed training plus members of staff were quite loud and mouthy while I was talking in a calm and collective manner. I know I won’t get a response as I’m pretty sure the manager would struggle to access a computer!
