Fantastic old character pub with a multi room layout. Excellent choice of Ossett Brewery beers, a friendly service, great value and really good pork pies.

It just shows. It's not hard. Great ales and ciders at decent prices. Very reasonably priced pies and pasties and scotch eggs. Lovely art-deco interior. Best pub in Halifax and one of the best in the West Riding

Nice enough pub, only three customers in so not exactly busy and unfortunately an Ossett Brewery house, don't like their beers. On the plus side the beers were on very good form so 5 stars to the cellar man, good job.

The best pub in Halifax by a country mile. 9real ales, all the usual fizzy stuff, a cider on hand pull, nearest pub to The Shay, welcomes away fans (even Cheaterfield ones)

Never had a bad pint here. Feels like a good old traditional boozer that is very well kept. Lots of ale choice and plenty of snacks including more deli style stuff not just crisps and peanuts. You can tell the people who run it take pride in it.

Avoid on match day if you're an away fan with more than 50 other fans travelling. Tiny bar, few staff and no pre-poured lagers. Nightmare 'away' pub when York City took over 1,000 midweek, a day after the game was postponed on a bank holiday when we were expecting to take 1,500!

An absolute superb pub. A perfect example of how pubs used to be before brewers destroyed many pubs. Multi roomed pub with excellent well kept beers. Best pub in Halifax.

Beautiful pub, wonderful beer! Still a fantastic pub, but they really need to get to grips with their dog friendly policy. This afternoon a couple brought in 2 dogs, clearly as a socialising experiment, and 1 was unhinged! Yes, s/he is a rescue dog....good on you, but please, don't ever do that again

The pub just does pies as food, a good selection of flavoured pork fillings. Good beer, primarily Ossett with 1/2 guests. Well supported on matchdays, football/rugby.

The Three Pigeons is a great pub! It's divided into a number of cosy rooms, so convenient for having a natter with friends without lots of noise. The pub has a great selection of delicious real ales that are reasonably priced. Bar snacks include the most delicious pork pies and pasties! I think there were at least a half dozen different pies including hog roast, black pudding, apple and apple and stuffing. I got the one with black pudding, and it was so good I could have tried them all! I'll just have to return and work my way through the menu. The staff were very friendly and efficient on my recent visit. I'm looking forward to my next pint in The Three Pigeons!

Called in when going a match at the Shay Stadium. Only a 5 minute walk from the ground. The pub consists of 3 to 4 separate rooms. Run by Ossett Brewery, had a couple of pints of White Rat. Selection of pies for sale behind the bar. Worth a look in.

This was a chilled pub to visit, set in a vintage layout! The seating and frames on wall best channel this, staff were friendly and the counter is well-presented. It is fantastic that they have original apple cider on draft and my pint was satisfying, tables were clean too!

Traditional pub, which is good to see. But it was overwhelmed with customers, it was totally random if you got served.

Excellent pub with excellent staff. Such a good vibe in here no matter the time of day, or season! Our last time here we tried a new larger which we loved and had lovely chats with some regulars - you felt like you were part of the furniture it was great! Plus the pork pies are delicious too - as is the decor! Great pub :)

University reunion pub tour. All agreed the cask ale range and quality was superb. This combined with the craic from locals, means a return visit is a definite.

Called here before Halifax v Featherstone Rovers. Very popular when a sporting event is on at The Shay. On street parking available, payable at times. Good quality ales from Ossett and afar. Ive visited many times and will again!

A well known drinking establishment A variety of refreshments and a welcoming service Picnic tables at the front of the pub to soak up this sunny weather, whilst drinking the ales and ciders! :)

This is a top-notch real ale drinkers' pub with loads of cask ales available. Those we tried on our recent visit were well-kept and perfectly presented. There are numerous small bars and overall the place seems to have a friendly and welcoming vibe. If I lived in Halifax I'd struggle to keep away from this pub.

Very welcome on a hot day! Has an interesting history and a nice atmosphere.

Like a normal pub, but with sausage rolls and pork pies. Didn't try any but a few of our party did. There were no complaints.

My sort of pub, beer was excellent and the pies look amazing. I had a lemon cider, it tastes fantastic. Nice and flat. Could drink it all day. This pub is well worth a visit. Lovely little gem.. Found a free parking spot very close.

I'd been told what to expect by others who'd previously visited. I hoped it would be good and it didn't disappoint. In fact it surpassed my wildest expectations. It was truly wonderful. I loved it. Get me back to Halifax ASAP.

Absolute beauty of a pub. Art Deco building with numerous small bars. A superb selection of ales, every one a winner, along with traditional pub fare - selection of pork pies, sausage rolls etc. A nostalgic step back in time and great value too.
