We sat in the garden which was absolutely gorgeous in the quiet village setting. Sophia our waitress was lovely and very friendly along with all the staff. Food was delicious, can’t fault it.

We had a fantastic meal at The Three Horseshoes. We stopped in purely by chance, as we were on our way to a football match, and a road closure meant we drove past. All four of us had an excellent meal, and the service and surroundings were top notch. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stop by!

Had a lovely meal. I don't know why I've never eaten here before, but we'll certainly go back again. Next time we'll probably take the dog and order from the bar area

We are trying all the local restaurants and pubs to try and find a decent Sunday roast lunch. Today we went to The Three Horseshoes. The dining room is well presented, clean and pleasant. Modern, stylish and with character. There is a lovely garden area with tables in the sun and also some which are covered and shaded. I went for the 3 course set Sunday lunch menu with sourdough bread to start, beef roast lunch and then dessert. My husband chose a roast lamb lunch from the specials board. We were impressed with the bread - a whole small cottage loaf, warm and crisp from the oven and very tasty. When the roasts arrived, I was shocked to see that my plate was half the size of my husbands!!!! The amount of food was still quite large and the food was overflowing off the plate which made it a bit difficult to eat. To be perfectly honest it seemed very weird! At that point there was no staff nearby, so we just tucked in and the roasts were all very good. Later, I was able to speak to lovely server 'Lucy', I asked why my plate was so small and queried whether this was because I was having the set lunch. She explained that no, the set lunch roast should be the same larger size. After checking she reported that a mistake had been made on the original ordering and I had been ordered a child's size lunch!!! Ha ha!! They were very kind and offered extras to rectify it but I had eaten enough. They made sure that the bill was in line with the smaller portion etc. All in all, they were very kind and helpful about it. Despite this rather amusing hiccup, the food and service were great and we would definitely go back here for Sunday lunch. My husband, who is an ale drinker, says the beer was very good. The dessert (sticky toffee pudding) was standard fare but good enough.The pricing seemed reasonable for the quality of the fare, the lovely service and the ambiance of the place .

Great food and service, not your typical boring food that is the same in every pub you go to. Highly recommended.

The service was brilliant. Lucy served us for most of our time here today and she was an absolute gem! Made the meal all the nicer. We found it a little to warm though but that’s expected on a busy day

I was served by Sophia, she was very helpful with drinks and food! She was also knowledgeable and enthusiastic about everything.

We have visited this pub twice in the past 2 weeks! We enjoyed a meal with friends in the private dining room on our first visit and my husband and I had a mid week meal together last week. My husband had the Cod and Chips on both occasions which was cooked and presented very well and tasty. I had the Beef and Ale Pie with Mash and Spring Greens. The pie was delicious and the veg cooked to perfection. A lovely jug of the best gravy was the perfect addition. However the Pistachio Choux Bun with Dark Chocolate Sauce, recommended by the waiter, was extremely disappointing. The Choux bun was dry and the Pistachio filling was also dry and lumpy. Cream has been added inside but it just didn't work. Apart from that we had good service and the food was good. Prices a bit on the high side for a gastropub but we will return!

I love this place . Everything about it is so good. The opposite of the experience we had a few weeks ago at an arrogant couldn’t care less restaurant where the service was abysmal. Recommended particularly for Sunday lunch. Service brilliant.

The food was generally okay but it's quality did not meet it's more expensive price (compared to other pubs in the area). We were disappointed with the side dish of new potatoes which had not been properly prepared - eyes not removed and black areas within the potatoes suggested less fresh produce. The pistachio choux pastry dessert sounded very tempting. However, we were very disappointed as the choux pastry was dry and overcooked. On the positives the pub/dining areas have a nice atmosphere and staff were friendly and efficient.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here, brilliant food, great service from Lucy and lovely building. Would go back and have pudding next time. Had a good gluten free menu but my only criticism is the lack of gluten free puddings.

Visited a few years back on a job ... perfect pint . Perfect food , perfect staff and exactly how a pub should be run ... couldn't recommend this place more .

Six of us went last night (Saturday), staff very pleasant, however they ran out of steaks apart from one portion and that was inedible, I had sea bream which was very nice, friends had fried fish which was left as very hard.. I've never known restaurant to run out of food. We did however receive a discount for which I thank them.

Visited today for my mums birthday - we booked last minute after a change of plans. We had 3 courses and every single one was delicious. Highly recommend the Sunday roast and the sticky toffee! The service was great - special thanks to the two young guys (I didn’t catch their names but a really young lad and the barman with plaits) for looking after us. We will be back!

A beautiful restaurant located in a quiet country side in England. Amazing view by the window and they have a lovely garden space for some fresh air and the pups to run around. Gorgeous decor inside and great food and services.

Had a really lovely meal here and enjoyed the experience too. It was busy, but not too noisy.

Went for a Sunday roast the 5 of us. Starters were lovely as were the roasts. Shamefully the roast pork's crackling was a let down. This didn't arrive with the roast and when we flagged it we were given some kind of pork scratching for just one person, it wasn't remotely warm so wasn't fresh. When we asked for the other missing one we were given fresh crackling however it just tasted of oil. Would recommend going with the beef instead, as everyone loved that. The rest of the roasts were lovely ! When we received the bill there were items on there that wasn't ours and the two course offer wasn't offered. When we flagged this to the manager there wasn't an apology and more of an are you sure element. That part was rather disappointing. All resolved in the end, just the customer service could be improved on this. The pub has massively transformed however and looks amazing compared to the last i'd been (10 off years ago!)

Took a friend for a meal to celebrate his birthday & we were served by T ☺️ A warm welcome, quick polite service, he checked back to see we were ok & gave recommendations. Attention to detail on allergies to. Food is always fantastic but his customer service went above and beyond. Will be back soon for sure. Pixie

A very nice pub/restaurant in a country setting but not far from London. A very nice ambience and attention to detail. It is not cheap but good value for money. They do have special offers, so l recommend you go on their website.

We had a fantastic experience at The Three Horseshoes today. We felt extremely welcomed; and staff were attentive and friendly. Staff were really good with children too. Food was excellent, would highly recommend!

We went for Sunday lunch today as a last minute decision. I called to book and I was greeted on the phone with courtesy and efficency in securing a table. We were taken to our table by the manager who was polite, friendly and amenable. We felt welcome from the minute we stepped into the pub. All the staff greeted us with a big smile. Our meal was just excellent. I had the traditional roast beef with all the trimmings and all the elements on the dish were perfectly cooked. Nothing sat under a warming light for too long. The pass in the kitchen was fast and clean. Special acknowledgements to Saul and Sophia for their efficient, friendly, thoughtful care to ensure our experience was a positive one. They showed initiative and attentiveness making sure we had whatever we needed. They were just delightful and wonderful, well deserving of praise. In summary, excellent food at a great price and attentive staff made sure we will definitely return regularly.

So glad we found this place. Held our Colleague Christmas Dinner here and it was a big success. Service and food excellent! So good we will be coming back with our families!

There's always a friendly welcome at The Three Horseshoes. The food is good although the vegetarian offerings could do with a bit of attention.

Absolutely delicious food, we loved all of our meals. There were a great range of Specials as well as lots of choice on the main menu, including a good range of options for non-meat-eaters. We enjoyed the game terrine and celeriac soup for starters, and the sea bass and beef pie for mains, and the mini cheesecake and cheese 'Smidgen' were great for people who fancy a little for the dessert course but don't have room for a whole pudding after the very generous portions for mains. All the food was freshly prepared, used interesting ingredients (you felt a lot of thought had gone into designing the dishes) and were beautifully presented. We were there for a special occasion and it felt very 'special'. Not cheap, but absolutely worth it. Also enjoyed the great, unobtrusive service and the calm, unhurried atmosphere. In a very pretty, quiet village, that feels like it's in the middle of the countryside, but is convenient for Bushey, Radlett and driving from further afield. Would recommend!

Absolutely splendid dining experience. The food was wonderful, and I really appreciate the focus on locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. The specials menu is great, and I had a delicious Wagyu beef burger, which melted in the mouth. The staff are lovely and attentive, but you never feel rushed at any point. Definitely the best place to eat, by far, in the Watford area!

We went for dinner, restaurant was full. We waited 1.5 hours for our main course. Some options not available after we ordered. Staff were friendly when around, food was very average but more importantly the kitchen could not cope with a 3/4 full restaurant. A small amount was deducted from the bill. Second time this happened to us so unfortunately wont be returning.

Poor starters - crab starter was all tomato and very little flakes of white crab. Steak tartare - plenty of tartare but couldn’t taste or see the steak. Rump steak good but at £35 plus veg it should be. Never again

Nice place and staff were very nice. Not the cheapest place but the food was pretty good. There was no soap in the mens toilets which was disappointing.

Great pub! Best in area, v friendly staff and locals

A lovely pub in a picturesque location. We attended a small family celebration and the staff were friendly, very helpful but a little forgetful when it came to our orders of drinks and food. Our meal was lovely, if expensive for the amount on the plates. The food seemed dwarfed by the size of the plate. I had the Spiced red lentil soup for my starter and for the main, braised beef and ale pie. I did think the bar had a good selection of low and alcohol free bottled beers on the drinks menu.

I Visited the horseshoes for the first time in a couple of years the barman was very professional very polite even though I gave him a bit of banter over the beer.very nice pub clean tidy and well kept. will be paying it a vist

I was at this pub the first time. From the moment I walked in everything was perfect. I was greeted and shown to the table. The service throughout whole dinner experience was excellent. I had steak Diane from the specials and my friend had the sea bass. For the dessert we a had a pistachio cheesecake - delicious! The bathroom was clean and tidy. The atmosphere very nice, loved the interior. Will definitely come back and recommend to friends. Thank you :)

Modern Pub, with good terraze and comfortable inside. The staff was good. We had the Sunday Roast, beef, and it was delicious, really good. Good tables with cloth napkings. The price above the standards, but definitly recommended.

Very quaint village pub, I was visiting a friend and we stopped at the Three Horseshoes, highly recommend.

Visited last night for a birthday dinner. The venue looks impeccable, service was immaculate, food and drinks were great. We felt very special and greatly looked after. Many thanks to everyone, especially to Lee and Marcel for the lovely touches, we will happily return and recommend this pub to all our friends and family.

They had run out of the chicken main course so I opted for a caesar salad. It was basically a bowl of lettuce with a few bits of crusty bread thrown in with 2 small pieces of chicken. It cost £18.50 for mainly lettuce. I will not be eating there again.

Lovely village pub and setting with an impressive menu. Sunday roasts are definitely worth the trip to the Three Horseshoes and is no our favourite for Sunday lunch.

Superb food , service and ambience. The waiters patiently explain the food to you and they have their specials for the day which is a pleasant surprise. The quality of the food is top notch despite a countryside setting.

Really nice main dishes & our initial waitress was lovely and friendly, though unfortunately I didn’t catch her name. We got the cauliflower cheese to share, which was highly disappointing; it was very small and certainly not what you’d expect as it specifically said ‘to share’. It had essentially no flavouring and was mostly mush, with only 1 small piece of discernible cauliflower amongst the soupy slop. Our mains were really lovely though, so we decided to just let it be. After we finished eating we waited around 20 minutes for our plates to be cleared. I waited another 15 before just going in to order a drink myself, as nobody had come back to ask. 20 minutes later, my friend went to order his drink (a pint of soda water), as still nobody had come out to us. We eventually did have a different waiter come out and ask if we’d like desserts, which we didn’t. Had to go and retrieve the bill ourselves (nobody came out) and was really confused to see that a pint of soda water (no cordial/ lime) was being charged at £2.70! I went inside to settle up (as nobody had come back, again). I asked the man standing by the bar (named Dan) why the soda water was being charged at £2.70. His attitude was horrendous and he looked at me as though I’d asked him to tell me the meaning of life, rather than a very simple and straightforward question. He scoffed and said ‘well of course we charge’. I said ‘right… but it’s just carbonated water’. He said ‘yeah well that’s what we have always charged’. The attitude on him was something else entirely - if that’s what you charge, so be it. But there is a way to answer a simple question that doesn’t need an eye roll and a scoff. Service charge was a cheek, given we were up and down like yoyo’s to get drinks/ the bill/ pay the bill. My friend walks with a cane and there seemed to be no consideration of that at all. It was actually rather quiet inside (as our first waitress pointed out herself), so it can’t have been that they were rushed off their feet. In fact as I paid the bill, 2 members of staff were sat folding napkins whilst the gentleman I spoke with (Dan) hovered in the middle of the room for seemingly no purpose. I grew up with pub landlords for parents - £2.70 for some fizzy tap water is a bloody scandal, and the snark on Dan was just boggling. Such a shame, because the place is nice and our first waitress was wonderful.

Lovely local pub in a quaint quiet village on the green, it has a really light and happy atmosphere and the staff can't do enough for you. Haven't really tried the food as yet, but the menu looked eclectic, something for everyone with specials on a regular basis.

Good service, tasty food. Only downside is they have a limited number of outdoor tables. Overall really good.

If I'm honest I preferred the previous pub it was rustic and cozy feel now it's a modern restaurant.its good but not what I expected from previous visit.the service was good the food very tasty, only the desserts were not that good ...I should have stopped eating after the main course and have some cheese ( they had good choice! )instead...

Popped in with a few friends, great small pub with a good atmosphere and decent selection of drinks. Only downside was the chips were a bit hard / undercooked but not enough to mark down a star.

The sunday roast was delicious, I had the vegetarian wellington. Excellent service - friendly, welcoming staff. We had dessert aswell, we realised one of the supplements was incorrect and the waiter checked and kindly decided to take it off our bill. The pub is cosy too, i won't be our last visit!

Since being taken over , gone down hill, roast dinner was disgusting, im sure it was warmed up in the microwave. Very expensive, will not be returning anytime soon

Went on a quiet evening, so no real atmosphere but was very nicely done & the staff were very helpful & the chef even made a special Vegan dish for me & my friend as he wanted to test it out for a new menu anyway, so was very accommodating

A lovely restaurant with good service

Couldn't cope with a full restaurant on a Sat night. We had a gorgeous little room for my party of 10 for my birthday. Manager was very apologetic as we didn't get our food until 10pm, which was crazy being our table was booked from 8.15, one member of party had no meal as Venison at the cost of £29 came up over cooked, ended up only paying for drinks but none the less very disappointed as one couple travelled from Surrey to share my special day. Sadly wouldn't return or recommend

Since being taken over the food is very disappointing. Beef and ale.pie was very dry...luckily served with gravy ; the pastry rock hard. Very expensive and not good value anymore 🙃

It was New Year' Eve ( daytime) and we stopped in for a bar snack, as we had plans for lunch a bit later in the day. There were no options other than crisps to go with our drinks. Very nice, skilled bartender, though!

The food here is good pub food but it is not a gastro pub. On a Friday evening just before Christmas at 8pm there were only three tables in use.
