What a delightful place and amazing food. Great friendly service Definitely worth a visit !

It was good. They managed to fit us in, and us being us were conscious that they had our table already booked so hurried through our meal. Food was ok. The part of the car park that we saw was tiny, but we got a space. The gentlemen serving were lovely and tried their best.

Having enjoyed a meal here before, we booked for my daughters birthday in February. She cannot eat gluten, so we checked before hand that it would be ok, and was told the only issue were the Yorkshires. We booked and took some of our own cooked GF Yorkshire-very easy to make! We waited a while to get the allergens menu list, so ordered drinks, while we decided. When we ordered, we gave the waitress the Yorkshires and asked for them to be popped in the oven for a couple of minutes. imagine the shock when she returned saying the chef refused to heat them up "because of cross contamination"!! We were SO disappointed! So much so we paid for our drinks (!!) and left. What stupidity! So if you have a dietary restriction, be careful where you go!! We certainly will not be going back THERE!!

Had a family meal my son's 18th birthday. The food was fantastic. The service is always wonderful.

Visited twice now, once for lunch and once for dinner. It was great both times. Food is brilliant, staff very friendly and welcoming. Cozy and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Family owned pub with excellent food and service!

Second time coming here for a Sunday roast and I can't recommend it enough! The portions are huge, the food is delicious and the prices are fair. Lots of vegetarian options and the desserts are amazing. The service is also fantastic and they go out of their way to be accommodating.

A lovely family run pub serving great food with a smile. They support local producers which is always a great sign. Just love it.

We had the wake for our parents at the Three Crowns. Charles and the team were very kind and supportive. We wanted the food to be special and it truly was excellent. This helped to create the atmosphere we were seeking. Thank you for making this event so special.

Well 8 of us landed 540 pm and nothing was a problem we had not booked. But as I say nothing was a problem. Had a Table and what a meal absolutely 💯 per cent outstanding. Service food atmosphere just brilliant.

Beautiful pub, gorgeous food, staff are extremely attentive and it was so reasonable. I pre-booked food for a table of 8 and I couldn’t fault the service. It was peak-time on a Sunday too with multiple Sunday roasts and 2 people with dietary requirements. Parking is very limited, which we weren’t aware of but staff let us know that the neighbours are absolutely fine with cars being parked down the nearby roads. Would 100% recommend. :)

Just had a wonderful birthday lunch at The Three Crowns in Askett. Very welcoming and accommodating, fabulous roast and dessert. A very cosy pub to go to for either a drink or food. Highly recommend and will be back 🤗 Thank you team!

Food not as expected for the price but good service.

I took a friend here for his birthday. I was very impressed with greeting we received after walking through the door and everything that followed afterwards. The food was incredible and the roasted squash with tomato was amazing. A quiet venue depspite quite a few people being in. Thank you. I'll be back.

Good, harthy food in a friendly and homely environment. Our favourite local spot for a last minute lunch or dinner with family. Portions are generous and prices really reasonable. Don't expect fancy but well made simple traditional pub food.

This is a family run pub cum restaurant and when we visited, the staff were two sisters (unfortunately I have forgotten their names!) On arrival, our greeting was friendly and welcoming whilst maintaining a professional approach. The decoration is attractive and appropriate to the location. The menu has a good variety and our choices were taken, and delivered efficiently and neither too slowly nor to quickly. Our food was attractively prepared and presented and cooked to the highest standard. Drinks has a good variety covering all tastes. All in all an excellent food pub with great food, a great atmosphere and great service. The toilets are well maintained and spotlessly clean.

Beautiful pub in a lovely rural location. Smart but cozy decor and high quality pub food. Wonderful dessert selection. Outdoor seating, dogs are allowed here but not sure about inside. Parking can be a bit tricky, sometimes you need to search for a space nearby.

Very welcoming place for a drink,snack or dinner especially the outstanding Sunday roasts. Delicious food and excellent value for money in lovely surroundings. Always had great service on every visit!

Came here for a fam lunch few days ago. Being vegetarians, it's always a slight challenge to get enough variety but we were pleasantly surprised to see a healthy mix of options. Food was great, servings generous and hospitality lovely. The lady at the bar/attending us was very warm and welcoming. Strongly recommend for visiting if you are in/around the area.

Had a lovely lunch here after a walk. Super friendly, menu superb (meant to go light lunch, couldn't, too many good things) and food quality v good too. Quick and efficient. Everything to like.

Lovely food in a nice pub & location, spoiled by exceedingly slow service. My last two visits have taken far too long for everything - what felt like insufficient staff, with no apologies or excuses given. Especially disappointing as everything else is great - a varied menu, well-cooked food and good value. On a busy (but not packed) Sunday afternoon it took 8 of us three and three quarter hours from start to finish for two courses. By any standards that is more than an hour too long. 😕

Brilliant little pub on one of the walks in the Chiltern, heavily suggest going on a Thursday where you get a third off your food bill and the chicken burger is a must, the food for me was 6/5 stars - you have to come.

Update: May 2023 I took my walking group for Sunday lunch for 16. Absolutely spot on. 16 clean plates! Plus desserts that were delicious (more want than need!! ). The food is really good, and the staff are very welcoming too. I totally recommend. If in any doubt , say that Graeme sent you. You won't regret it. Update: I took another group of 8 for Sunday lunch (10/7/22) after a lovely long walk in the sunshine. The staff at The Three Crowns are just lovely - so welcoming and engaging, but also professional and efficient. Cold drinks appeared quickly, including for the dogs, and food appeared in quick time soon after. The food here is exceptionally good. My guests were all raving about it, which pleases me of course. All pubs and restaurants had a hard time through Covid. It seems to me that this gastro pub has come back stronger, and I credit them. Previous review from Feb 2022: I eat here quite regularly because it has some of the best staff and the best food in the area (and there are many decent gastro pubs in South Bucks, so I do not say this lightly). Today, I took my walking group of 13 for Sunday lunch. The menu is surprisingly long and varied, with so many nice options that its quite hard to choose. My group had a wide variety of dishes and every single plate was wiped clean! Plus the desserts are generous and yummy. Its a family-run place and they are really friendly and welcoming. Thanks to Laura, Charles, Lucy and the staff Elaine and Gareth. And of course the chef and kitchen staff, excellent job. This is a place I can always take guests to, because they are always impressed.

Good beer and food, but service unfortunately very slow (small kitchen?). Still recommended, but get there early and order quickly.

Varied menu, reasonable prices, great presentation and quality. Lovely building - we really enjoyed tonight’s visit, the BBQ platter was amazing. Will return.

Lovely friendly pub/restaurant. Setting is ideal and is very relaxing. Food is excellent. Having been to Canada last year, I can honestly say that the Three Crowns Poutine is better. I had it with Duck. Hope to make another visit this month.

Four of us had a superb lunch for my birthday yesterday. The food was lovely and Lucy made us feel so welcome and looked after us well. The setting for the 3 Crowns is delightful and I highly recommend a vist.

Lovely food and service. In particular, the buttermilk chicken wings are crispy, well seasoned and taste like the ones I used to have in the U.S. Steak was tender and well cooked. The fish pie made with locally smoked fish was excellent. I don't like pizza, but even I would have to say that the Hawaiian pizza my son ate was really rather good.

Went to the three crowns last night for a work Christmas meal and I definately was not disappointed. Lovely traditional English pub, which was cosy and warm on a cold December night. There were 12 in our party and we had the festive menu, which was lovely, great food, great portions and staff were so helpful and accommodating. The atmosphere within the pub was so welcoming and relaxing, haven't laughed so much in ages. Exceptional evening, with outstanding staff and gorgeous food. So glad we chose the three crowns. Can't wait to come back.

The duck was excellent. Interesting menu. Large portions. We were too full for puddings but they sounded good too. Great choice of alcohol free beers - at least 6, including bitters and lagers, more than I can remember.

My absolute favourite place for a Sunday Roast! Soooo good and very friendly staff!

Really nice lunch in the Stable bar. Had the duck burger, with the Asian slaw and chips. Nicely presented and generous portions. Dessert was apple crumble with ice cream, delicious. Service was also very good.

Simply amazing. Staff so friendly, food well presented, tasty and good value not to mention decent portion size. One of the best burgers I have had in a long time. First visit here, but will definitely be returning. Another hidden gem in the Princes Risborough area.

The food was absolutely gorgeous, probably the best pub roast I’ve had to date. It was fresh, hot and generously portioned. The apple crumble was also just so tasty, I could have had a second helping. The website doesn’t state whether or not dogs are welcome in the pub, but we were allowed the dog in the stable to eat instead of the main bar/pub area. This was fine with us. Everyone we spoke to was friendly.

Delicious braised short ribs of beef, amazing taste and a great portion, so full I couldn't manage a dessert so will go back sometime just for the dessert menu. Lovely service.

Went to the 3 Crowns on recommendation today for a pub lunch. Could not have been more disappointed. There were only 4 other people seated in the bar area when we arrived. We had booked, so we were shown to our table. The barman then took our drinks order, I ordered a pint of Guinness, when the drinks arrived the glass of Guinness was not filled to the top(obviously out of a can) but I decided not to complain. Then we were left a considerable length of time without our food order being taken, so much so, I had to go to the bar and ask for our order to be taken. After it had been taken a couple and a young child came in they proceeded to order food and drinks. Shortly afterwards their food arrived, no sign of our food at this point. When they were about halfway through their meal, I had to get up again and go to the bar and ask as to when our food might arrive. It was then delivered shortly after that. The food itself was average but adequate for pub grub. Overall view: Staff uninterested blaming the kitchen, would not revisit.

I can thoroughly recommend the roast beef Sunday lunch. Generous slices, beautifully cooked with a selection of fresh veggies and really tasty roast potatoes. Great place, making Sunday lunches what they should be.
