Amazing and tasty food which is more like home made rather than mass produced takeaway food. I got quite close to Thailand and have eaten home cooked Thai food and this feels like eating in a small local food house in Nepal. Its all so different to any Thai dishes a local Chinese would cook its just so tasty and different. Well worth a try, we have been coming here for months now. Bit more expensive than normal but the portions are huge and they do not scrimp on the meat, they are happy to accommodate any requests. One of our favourites is the pork and prawn glass noodle salad and pay a little extra for more prawns and its loaded and very healthy.

I found that little gem on Google maps by accident to be honest and noticed the 4.9 rating which made me very curious. As I love all Asian cuisine I didn't even hesitate to give it a try. When I called to ask many questions I spoke to a very nice lady who didn't rush me at all. She informed me (what is very important for newcomers to know) that they have slots for collection, my understanding was that they do not just take walk-ins (certainly not on busy nights like Friday and Saturday) so make sure you call beforehand and book the slot. I absolutely loved Pad Thai, I'm pretty sure it was the best I've eaten! Massaman curry was great too Unfortunately I wasn't that big on red curry in terms of flavour (don't mean the fact it was extremely spicy as I did request it willingly 😅). I'm gonna try green curry next time but I'm sure at least 1 Pad Thai will always be on my order. There's a good parking lot behind the building which is free if charge after 6pm (exactly the time when they open). We'll be coming back regularly as flavours are great, prices are very reasonable and on top of it customer service is brilliant 💪

A hidden gem, best takeaway in Long Eaton by far. As good as food you’d get in Thailand

Simply the best authentic Thai food. Do not judge by its outside appearance. Gung the chef is a master of his craft! We regularly get take away from here. Just wish they were a bit closer to Nottingham.

Krap ka gow and the pork cakes were phenomenal. It was all amazing but those dishes really stood out. A really great spot, but do call ahead as we had to wait for a couple of hours for food to be ready after ordering; however the food is so worth the wait.

We had a wonderful family meal, Thai green curry with coconut rice; Pad Thai; Massaman curry with jasmine rice; wrapped prawns & spring rolls. Ready on time for collection. Superb flavours and excellent value.

This is by far the best takeaway food I've ever tasted ANYWHERE around in my life. It never gers old. It is absolutely amazing, proper fresh, always hot and good value. Pad Thai, pork patties, yellow curry, beef with lime leafs, chicken rice with tomatoes. Always booked up solid. We have to book our slot for food in the morning to reserve a spot at the night time. When you see a takeaway with this many 5 star reviews it really says alot. The couple are brilliant too. I'd love to get him to make me a proper jungle curry but it would just take so much time that he couldn't prepare it to order like that. It would no doubt be amazing too

Such fabulous Thai food, cooked to order so always fresh, hot and delicious. This place is always busy so booking in advance is strongly recommended. Brings back lovely memories of visiting Thailand and enjoying the fantastic food. Love this place.

We saw this place for years but never got around to try… well… we finally did and OH MY GOD!!!! How can we missed this before!!!!! I thought I have found the best Thai food in Sheffield and London but… I can say this place is too amazing!!! The ingredients, the heart and soul you can taste everything in the food! Seriously the best, I think their food are better than most in Bangkok! Alrighty, I was so excited now back to the food, my best favourite was the Tom Kai Soup, I would say one of the best I have ever had(yes BKK, HKG and UK) so far!!! I can’t do spicy food, like 6 drops of Tabasco is my limit… but this soup… I think they put like 3 chopped chillies 🌶 in and I can’t stop drinking it even tho I need so much tissue for my sweat and runny nose!!! 😂 Fried rice was a surprise too, their rice was moist and a bit chewy yet soft… it taste a bit like sticky rice. Taste amazing, we ordered red curry and masaman too and both so nice!!! So lucky to live only 40 mins drive 😂 About ordering, you can’t go to the shop and order as we got refused on a Friday night at 7pm, they said orders for the night already full, so we text them Sat around 4:30pm and got a slot for 8:30pm… now I understand why they are so busy!!! Love love love their food and the couple are super cute x

Great prices, great service and lovely food. A small kitchen on the Tamworth Road, next door to the New Inn pub. Efficiently run by an English/Thai couple who know how to do a mean stir fry. Much healthier than the gloopy MSG Chinese food, with a range of delicate to medium seasoning. Free (after 6) Car Park around the back. Orders are by phone, text or Facebook at the moment. A proper website with the menu and contact details would help a lot.

We were so excited about The Thai Kitchen after reading reviews. Despite this, GOSH, we were incredibly DISAPPOINTED! The food was absolutely garbage. It was tasteless, somewhat marginally overpriced and very poor quality. Perhaps we are not the biggest fan of Thai food after all but Iceland food starters with cheap chicken and orange water is NOT what we expected. We won’t be ordering again.

Helpful friendly staff helped me organise a special meal for my husbands 40th birthday. Collected the food yesterday and it was incredible! Watched the Pad Thai be cooked freshly in front of me, my husbands Thai green curry was packed with beautiful flavours. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back!!

First time ordering from this place and I was not disappointed . I messaged the owners via messenger for some advise on what dishes they did that I liked ( I like it got with lots of chilli !) and they messaged me back straight away . A few months later and back in Nottingham. Just had to drive to Long Eaton for more yummy Thai, twice over the weekend! This husband and wife team have perfected providing authentic street food from a small shop front. The chicken Pad Thai noodles just take me back to Bangkok. Everything just tastes so good.

The food was just incredible, would really recommend. The taste was so good and everything was fresh, hot and so well priced.

Amazing authentic tasty food and great value for money. The portion sizes are big and a pad Thai easily feeds 2 of us. You need to know how to order which took me a week to figure out. You text your order in the day and say what time you want it. They will confirm if that slot is available and then you collect it. No delivery available. Normally cash payment only but during lockdown you have the option to do a bank transfer.

I'm reccomending this place to everyone. Fantastic authentic flood from a great family staff. 10/5 stars for me.

First time, excellent food whole family loved.

Once you figure out how to order a take away you won’t regret it. The first time I tried to order a take away I rang at 6.30 to place and order but told I couldn’t have it until 8.40?! I couldn’t understand it...until I read somewhere on Facebook that you have to text or place your order much earlier than when you want it. So the following week I text at 5.00 my order and got offered the 6.15 slot. (Think they open at 6) it was ready for collection at the time allocated and the place smelt amazing. I ordered chicken pad Thai and red Thai curry and rice. This was more than enough for three adults (the pad Thai alone would feed 2) The pad Thai was delicious and very tasty so was the curry and I thus is now my Saturday night treat. Gutted they have gone on holiday for 2 weeks as I had to go elsewhere and was very disappointed.

Absolutely cracking meal, perfect ambiance; upon entering is like entering a paradox world of traditional Thailand. The food was excellent would rate 9.5/10. I’ll set the scene. The chef asked “pad pet, the spicy?” He places the food in front of me. My heart drops, palms sweating and balls tingling. No where on the menu did it mention the heat of this dish. To my delight the spice was perfect and the flavour matched it. Would recommended to anyone!

This little take away restaurant is in the middle of some other buildings and could be hard to find. But once you have you will be delighted with the traditional street food it has to offer. Its an experience watching the owner cook in the bit wok much roars away and the flames can be very high its magic! you will be back here.

The best Thai takeaway we've had in the UK - and better cooking than in all but the top Thai restaurants in the 40-50 we've visited. The beef penang in particular was spot on! 👍 ....just a shame we don't live locally. Takes time for orders - but well worth the wait.

The only place I've tasted better Thai food is in Thailand. Even then I never came close to something as utterly brilliant as their Massaman Curry or the soup. Truly brilliant authentic Thai food.

Always great food at this take out only restaurant. The place is rather inconspicuous on Tamworth Road but betrays it's presence by the fantastic aromas that find their way out onto the street. The food is always prepared to order with fresh ingredients, so expect a minimum 30 minutes wait for your order - best to call ahead as they occasionally close to cater events. All dishes are well worth the wait once ordered.

It took several attempts to eat there on each occasion as when we tried they were closed. I have no issue with places being closed due to holidays but there was nothing to say this was the case so had no idea when it would be open. When we did manage to get a takeaway we ordered two very different dishes, I prefer my food hotter than my girlfriend does. Even so we found that the food didnt taste that much different, mine was more spicy but the base dish was more similar than the description led us to believe. A disappointment overall and somewhere we won't be using again.

This is our go-to place for a good old-fashioned thai meal. The food tastes as good as the ones we have had on our visits to Thailand. It is a small takeaway place and there is no seating. However, the food is freshly prepared and tasty.

I was going to get a take away as it is only take away. I walked in and it smelled so bad I thought no way would I eat anything from there. It looked dirty from the outside, but looks are often deceiving. It smelled dirty when I walked in. It has no cleansiness rating. It's a shame cos I love Thai food. Please clean it up.

We went for a takeaway this weekend whilst visiting family in the area and thought it was excellent! Lovely family business and the food was delicious, authentic, fresh and the best we have tasted in the UK after numerous visits to Thailand. Definitely deserves a visit, just wished we lived closer as we would be there once a week!

Me he alojado aquí unas cuantas veces para recoger un llevar y siempre lo hemos encontrado lleno. No sé si te dejan porque siempre ir a recoger y el chef prepara la comida en frente de usted. Los ingredientes son obviamente muy fresca y se puede ver que poco o nada está bien preparada como el chef prepara todo desde cero.

Tried it out the other week not knowing what to order the women was very helpful in what to order and the food was fantastic so ordered the following week by message on my phone ... (you can pre order before they open and they will send you a text to .when to pick it up) and again fantastic... try you wont be dissapointed

The food is fantastic. The coconut rice was fab and the chicken n cashew nuts so flavoursome. The chicken had no added water like it does from every takeaway! Very tasty, very fresh; as other reviewers have said, long waits attest to the quality and the high regard amongst locals.

Had a great takeaway for my partners birthday. You have to collect it yourself but a small price to pay. £25 for three people and stuff left over. We were stogged. Thai red chicken curry, Thai green vegetable curry, pad Thai noodles with prawn. Vermicelli noodles with chicken and egg fried rice.

We have known the owner for many years and he has always cooked amazing food. If you want classic Thai street food - you will not find better than this. The shop - well nothing is dressed up. It's a basic set up and when Gung is on the wok cooking up his chilli's in there your eyes will water. And it is this earthy simplicity that makes the food so good.The food is affordable so try a few combinations. The spicy soups and jasmine rice are excellent. Massa man nu is well worth trying with its rich creamy sauce and yellowy, fluffy potatoes and beef. You'll struggle to have a bad meal if you like Thai.

We used to eat at The Lady in Grey and were disappointed when it closed. Upon looking for Thai food again recently, we came across The Thai Kitchen and were thrilled to see it was run by the same person!It says you can text orders so we gave it ago and got a reply back immediately - we ordered Thai Green curry, Massaman Neua and Jasmine rice and collected 50 minutes later.The food was a trip back in time to the amazing food at The Lady in Grey, it was full of amazing flavours and exceedingly fresh and hot, the beef in the Massaman Neua was beautifully cooked and tender, no fat at all. Great value for money and we will most definitely be returning!

If you're looking for that authentic thai taste you must give the thai kitchen a try! Really lovely service and you can see everything being cooked fresh when you go in. I cannot eat gluten but they are knowledgable of suitable dishes. Everyone I know who has eaten their food agree its the best! I am now a regular here!

We came here for a takeaway, having read the reviews. We knew we'd be in for a long wait and were prepared to wait for something special. Yes, it was good to know that it had been cooked fresh in front of you, but the end result wasn't really that great. It was good, but very expensive for what it was. The dishes weren't as flavoursome as we're used to with Thai food and we were rather disappointed. if you go, you should bear in mind how long it takes to prepare. They closed shortly after we left and we'd been there for the best part of 40 minutes. They only take cash, but there is a cash machine across the road. The other thing, and it shouldn't matter as much as it did, is that it only had 2 stars for the Scores on the Doors. The interior was rather shabby. I'm sure the food preparation area is fine, but it leaves a bad impression. .

Good value. Quality Thai food, freshly prepared. Lovely, distinct tastes. Victim of its own success on a Friday evening: you might have to wait as much as ninety minutes from ordering to collecting. Maybe that says it all, lots of regulars willing to wait. Maura took the orders and assisted. Gung (means shrimp, I'm told) cooked. Their hearts are clearly in the right place, too. We ordered green Thai curry, pad Thai and chicken fried rice & spring rolls... Absolutely fabulous! Having been to Thailand earlier this year I can honestly say that this meal took us back to street food, so tasty and authentic! Will definitely return! Just a shame they don't deliver!

It's very close to us so if we can know in advance we fancy to eat Thai then this is our choice. But as it's very small business it gets very busy so always order way in advance.

We visit The Thai Kitchen every week for our regular 'Thaisday' get together. The food is amazing and we know the owners by name now. I've never had a bad meal in the years we have been going. This is a little hidden gem in Long Eaton. Forget the big Thai restaurants in Nottingham, they aren't a patch on this.

Had a take away from there last weekend. Wonderful food freshly cooked. Flavours were amazing. No more expensive than our local Chinese. Good selection of food on the menu. You can park opposite on the pavement when you collect.

We went to Thai kitchen last night for the first time, we pre ordered food it was ready bang on time, we witnessed the chap finish cooking it fresh as we arrived. It was absolutely amazing, I was so impressed. Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Well worth the money, cost us £23 for heaps of food for 2, still loads left over. Everything was fresh, you can tell the meat and veg are fresh produce and not frozen cheap catering stuff. Too place will be our new regular take away. :)

This place is a gem, not massively publicised, but definitely should be. The food is as fresh as if you'd just got it from the streets of Bangkok. The flavours and spices were perfect and I would say it's one if the best Thai food experiences I've ever had. Highly recommended to anyone who wants an authentic meal. Friendly, reasonably priced, this will definitely be a regular for me.

We love Thai food and regularly have a take away from the Thai Kitchen. The chef takes a great deal of effort to ensure that the food is always first class. If you order over the phone (recommended) and arrive a liitle early to collect you can see it being cooked. Also you can decide how spicey you want it. Our families favourite dishes are the pork patties, the Tom Yam Gung (soup), the red thai prawn curry, the glass noodle, shrimp and pork salad and the pad thai. If you like Thai food and are looking for authentic Thai, give them a try and you won't be disappointed!

Traditional Thai cooked by a silver haired Thai!! Great food, always cooked fresh, no reheated food here. Best to phone and order to guarantee you food at the time you require as really busy. Resturant quality food in takeaway form. A must!

The beef grapow was amazing, one of my favourite ever dishes! It tastes so fresh and flavorsome, I would recommend it to anyone. All the food I have tried has been outstanding and very authentic. It is definitely worth the visit. Very nice and friendly people :)

Nice service and the lady working in there was very sweet. However, that was the strangest take on a green thai curry I've ever eaten. I have a mound of vegetables left on my plate including cauliflower and green beens...is this normal?! If it is my apologies but I've eaten a lot of green thai curry and it never had those ingredients. The pork fritter things were average and oily! coconut rice was nice. I have to say the green thai sauce was nice too. Overall I won't be eating there again..very disappointed!

Simply THE best THai take-away we've had in years. Knocks London into a cocked hat! Unpretentious REAL food, cooked to perfection and some exceptional flavours/unusual dishes. Highly recommended, but remember - cash only!

For a treat we often phone our order through for a gorgeous Pad Thai takeaway and collect it at a time convenient to ourselves. It's not too much trouble to deviate from the menu either; we have had beef pad thai or had pork with extra garlic etc. Food is freshly prepared and cooked to perfection. The only downside is that it can be very popular on special dates which means it can take an hour or more to wait if you don't order early enough - saying that, it is a good thing to know and see since you know the food is freshly prepared and not mass produced :P

Parking is on street nearby or the Market Place shoppers car park behind the block.The price is low, so why take-away portion controlled standard cook-chilled mush from a chain when food like this is available?
