Emmas thai in Erewash

I haven't been in the restaurant yet but certainly will in the near future. The food is excellent and I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed it that much whilst writing this review iv ordered from here again.

Banquet was gorgeous and the staff are brilliant. 10/10

Lovely little restaurant. Great food and service

Takeaway. Very tasty food at a reasonable price. Service was prompt, friendly and helpful. We'll be back - and will probably try a sit-in meal at some point.

This place probably seats about 20 or so people. When we arrived there were about 10 people waiting for food. There were 2 of us. We ordered a mixed starter plate and a plate of noodles to share. The starters came in a not quick, but reasonable, time. The staff were very nice and the waitress did say there would be a bit of a wait, but not until after the starters. We assumed that meant maybe 15 or 20 minutes. The lone cook produced all the dishes for the other customers, one at a time. I'm not saying we should've jumped the queue, but ours was a 5 minute dish. We didn't really have much time and wasted it sitting for over an hour just waiting for a few noodles. The starters were very nice, the wait was not. The noodles were okay - a bit of a small portion for 2 people (it's a sharing dish). If you want to eat in a reasonable time and you're not the sole customers, choose somewhere else. If you want a place that will let you linger and chat, this one could be for you.

Had the banquet meal for four people. Absolutely fabulous food. Freshly prepared, tasty, generous and well presented.

Absolutely impossible to order from here - Week 1: Phone was off - Week 2: Not doing delivery - Week 3: Not doing delivery due to bookings - Week 4 : Cash only, so cant pay by card. Absolute joke of a restaurant that are clearly messing with the books if they only take cash in 2024.

Terrible service! Staff inattentive. We had to wait for ages to get our food, and when it finally arrived, it was poorly cooked, small portions.

I've lost count how many times I have visited this restaurant and yet again we have had an excellent meal prepared by Emma and looked after by Dave. We have brought our friends and family to Emma's Thai and we all agree it is the best Thai restaurant in the area. Please support this restaurant

My partner and I visited Emma’s Thai due to the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor but sadly we didn’t enjoy the food as much as anticipated. We left feeling disappointed. We shared the tempura vegetables for a starter which were ok but I’ve had a lot better, the batter was a bit stodgy and not as light & airy as it should be and it was quite expensive at £7.50. I ordered the beef green curry for a main course, it was tasty but very thick & creamy and not authentic. My partner ordered the beef massaman curry which I tried, it was ok but a bit bland, it didn’t have much depth of flavour, it’s his favourite dish but he was disappointed. My partner said it needed more beef instead of the huge chunks of potato. Our main bone of contention was having to pay the eye watering amount of £5.95 for a portion of sticky rice for one. We only bought one portion on principle but this wasn’t enough. A bottle of wine was also eye watering. Sorry but it wasn’t good enough for the money spent.

This is my first time eating Thai food and it was some of the best food I’ve eaten if not the best, well presented place and has a very authentic Thai feeling. Me and the mrs loved it and will be back very soon. Also if you haven’t tried Thai before go for the banquet as everything is amazing and you get to try lots of different foods , well worth the money!

A very cute authentic thai, it is an extremely small place so definitely book in advance and you wont be disappointed. Having visited Thailand on numerous occasions I am not convinced the sweet and sour was authentic but the other dishes were nice

First time , I'd bin told how good it was so went on recommendations, and was not disappointed, the food was excellent and the service was very professional and friendly, food and drink was very well priced, give it a try you won't be disappointed. A lovely meal on Friday night at Emma’s Thai, had the five course banquet which was plenty of food for two (starter platter photo) both the food and service was great the owner is lovely would definitely recommend.

Been to Emmas thai many times now but never wrote a review. Every visit has been excellent food and service, especially the banquet menu. Friday and saturday are very good nights but thursday night is worth a try when less busy. Would definately recommend

Nice little restaurant hidden away in Ilkeston.

What a fantastic find. A hidden gem down a backstreet in Ilkeston, cosy restaurant with a great vibe. Lovely family feel and the owners are so lovely. The food is as good as you would have anywhere, everything beautiful cooked and served swiftly. The banquet was fantastic, we spent ages trying to pick a favourite and couldn't, every bite was great. We will be back, this place should be treasured - and a bargain too

Excellent Thai restaurant, visited whilst away for weekend, great menu choice, we chose a buffet meal of five courses, great flavours, very well presented, all staff friendly and service levels excellent, very busy last night but owner had time to share with all. Really spicy good Tom Yum soup, fantastic. My pineapple and prawn curry with rice was delicious and flavoursome, a really nice meal.

Just moved to the area and Emma’s Thai was recommended. Got to say the food was amazing especially the sesame prawn toast. The service was great too and we were made to feel so welcome and will definitely be back. Not a bad price either.

Came here for the first time tonight. Great food, nice friendly staff who spoke to the customers, food was delicious. Especially the 7 course platter for 2. All tasted nice and fresh. Nice little hidden gem, will visit again.

Very disappointed with the portion size. I spoke with the owner who told me about cutbacks to keep prices down. I would have been happy to pay more had I known I was getting a child's portion.

If I have tasted better, than I don't know when. Fantastic food, the lightest tempura batter, homemade spring rolls, and freshly made prawn sesame toast, every dish full of the most wonderful flavour. Eating here is a delight. Ten out of ten.

I contacted Emma's Thai to enquire about a possible booking this weekend and I was spoken to by someone whose attitude was nothing short of rude, abrasive and unhelpful. First visit with my sister who was a bit worried (as was I ) about dining out in the pandemic .Staff could not have been better - they really seemed to care about our experience .We were sat next to the door which was left ajar for ventilation, on a table set for four people . Food was amazing ! Prices were good value for money and the restaurant atmosphere was ambient with a ' great easygoingness vibe ' . A truly wonderful experience .Have recommended to friends and will visit again when in the area.

Take away service on a Saturday night was disappointing to say the least. Only been open half an hour and was unable to take orders due to being under staffed. Rude and unapologetic. Understand if you're a little overwhelmed and busy but phone manners make a lasting impression. Not bother again.

rang last night to book birthday meal for my fella, wasn't sure what to order, the gentleman on the phone was incredibly helpful, we ordered a 5 course banquet for two people. collected the food and it was out of this world!!!! even my fella was impressed!!! when we have takeouts he is so hard to please!!! would definitely recommend and will look forward to the restaurant being open again, so we can enjoy a sit down meal x
