The new management have done a nice job in a short space of time, food is excellent and the beer was really good, can't wait to revisit

Not sure where all the good reviews are from. Maybe I went in on a bad day. Walked in and the place smelt musty and old. Carpets obviously not been changed in a LONG time. Had to squish through a bunch of tables and finally sat down feeling very uncomfortable. Seems like a place for locals to drink but wanted something to eat so we left. Should have known when we drove into the car park - it was full of rubbish and poorly maintained. What a shame.

Ok. Fancied a Gin and Slim. No slimline tonic at all. So no G&T stuck to diet coke. Left at abiut 7pm by which time it was quite noisy.

New owner took the time to come and have a chat to my friend and I even though we were sitting outside. Inside and toilets all very clean and seemed like a good old fashioned 'proper pub' - not following the crowd and doing food. Can't wait to go there again to meet his wife and have a real night out.

Food was lovely staff were very nice will definitely go again. Sunday lunch is lovely. Single course £9.95 or two course for £12.99 Not bad.

Honestly cannot fault this beautiful, friendly pub! Such good price for real home cooked food! The curry has got to be my favourite and the beef and ale pie was divine! Cannot wait to go back and try more from this menu! The owner seemed so hapoy and full of life and gave off such a brilliant vibe which resulted in a lovely atmosphere in the pub! Thank you we will be back!

My cousin recently passed away so my cousin's sister asked for a local place I suggested the Teazer the staff were very pleasant and very dignified not easy thing to attend but it was very private and the rest of the family felt quite at ease the service once again was excellent always go back for meals again thank you very much

This is my local and I have never had a bad meal here. The Sunday lunch I had today was beautifully cooked and the lamb wonderfully tender. Waffles to die for. A must visit in Pontypool.

Having driven passed this pub on many many occasions, I was taken here this week by a friend as I recovered following an operation. I wasn't sure what to expect, thinking it would be just a little locals pub. However, as you enter, turn right and you go down into a little separate eating area. There were a few people eating and the food looked great.We weren't disappointed either. The bar person kindly came to our table and took our orders, only wanting a light bite we both opted for the tuna baguette. It came with fresh home cut chips, cooked in clean oil - you can always tell, the baguette was warm and a lovely side salad.The food and the service was impeccable. I recommended it to my partner who took his mate up there for brunch too. Safe to say will be a local treat for us.

You must visit the food is amazing and the Sunday lunch is to die for. Fantastic staff so friendly and they all make you feel so welcome Nice garden with plenty of seating and good parkingThe locals are great as well and totally include you so you don't feel like an outsider.I am very critical of places but I cannot find anything to criticiseThe toilets well I can only speak for the ladies are spotless. That says alot for the overall cleanliness of the pub which is outstanding.What also makes this a good place to eat is they do smaller meals for thoes with not a big appetite which my 82 year old mum loves. For the big eaters you won't be disappointed.Please visit if you are in the area.

First visit for many years for a reunion. Mid day mid week very good hot meals . 12 in party did not hear any complaints.

Eaten here twice on a Saturday night and also for Sunday lunch. Well worth a vist lovely pub with really nice customers good beer and cider and the food is very very good. The staff are lovely and made me feel very at home on both occasions. Puddings are to die for sticky pudding and custard and chery crumble and Icecream AMAZING. Will definitely be back 👍👍👍

Must give this pub a good review,the food was excellent and a variation of meats,you could have two meats two course,three course even different gravy,I was very impressed,the meat was tender and the greens was sufficient ,the meal was served promptly and our waitress was attentive to our needs.I shall certainly be back shortly to enjoy your most enjoyable meal,as in my title I’ve, missed this pub but to my delight I’ve, found it.

First time visiting the pub for the rugby, since moved to the area 2 years ago! Watched the food coming out, was absolutely dribbling at it! Rugby started and then half time came, Wales wasn't also winnig so was we! Free chips and curry! Cheap enough drinks; Never met such pleasant workers and ladies behind the bar! Just come home from a lovely Christmas meal party of 15, All had various meals everything cooked to our liking good service and hot food nothing too much trouble will go back again and sample more of their menu

First visit here. The staff were very friendly and efficient, nothing was too much trouble. The lunch was lovely and very good value and the drinks reasonable. However, the only off putting thing is the decor. The Pub is very much in need of TLC, decorating etc. Very tired and worn looking. Would still return though.

Great pub serving excellent food but it's just too cold in there. Eating a meal whilst shivering isn't right. I'm not the only one to comment on this. Highly recommend but not in the colder months I'm afraid. Amazing food and service.

Have been a few times and never failed to please me! Sunday roast dinners are beautiful so homemade and tasty with a huge selection of vegetables and the meat is always very good quality. More recently had dinner here with a friend on a Thursday. She had scampi and chips and I had chicken curry. Both meals were faultless and no complaints what so ever! Quiz very good and a huge turn put for it which makes it even more fun! All in all family friendly, lovely environment and 10 out of 10 for the food!!

Very quiet little pub, smooth radio music. Friendly staff.

Best roast had outside of home. Loads of extra veg, pots,gravy etc service friendly and efficient. Dessert was excellent warm waffle, maple syrup 2 scoops of ice cream. Thoroughly enjoyable will return soon!

Lovely ham, egg and chips for a 97th birthday lunch. Came with elderly Uncle. Nice straightforward place with simple menu.

Six of us visited the Teazer pub and had an excellent home cooked chicken curry followed by some lovely desserts. Portion sizes were very good and the desserts were also good.I opted for a vanilla cheesecake and cheekily asked the waitress if I could have some toffee sauce on it, and when it arrived they had put on the toffee sauce. Excellent pub food and a good atmosphere with very helpful staff. I will definitely be going back.

Popped in here a few weeks ago on the off chance they did breakfast and even though they didn't the lovely lady said she would do us one. The food was good and nice friendly staff. Gonna pop in for a meal soon

It's a decent venue great staff

5 of us spent a very happy evening in The Teazer, starter off with drinks then a very good meal of honest, tasty, reasonably priced pub grub. Waitresses were super friendly and obliging; being Thursday we took part in the quiz and were lucky enough to win. If we are ever lucky enough to be in the area in the future we will certainly return.

The Teazer has so many things to recommend it,It is friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for the members of staff.The food never disappoints and the menu is varied and interesting with additional "Specials" This is one of our favourite places to eat whether as a couple ,with friends or with extended family.....the home made "proper" chips are irresistible and Sunday lunch delivers in every aspect.Incredible value for money too!

Visited on Valentines Day for Sunday Lunch.Food superb @ plentiful-------6 Vegs + Boiled @ New Pots + Large Yorkshire + Large portion of Perfectly cooked Beef@ Gravy.The service from the 2 youngsters was fine and the Puddings to die for!The Eating is small and can feel a little crampedThe Value is extraordinary---4 dinners--4 puds--5 pints--3 glasses of wine and an Orange Juice came to £75and this on a day when most venue jack up their pricesr ces

8 steaks cooked 4 different ways and all cooked really well, lovely chips and onion rings, young waitresses really friendly and efficient.

What a great effort by all at this lovely little pub. I thought the food we had for our Christmas meal was fabulous and considering some of us were choosing off the other menu it was all presented very well. The food was hot and plentiful and yes the service was a little slow but so what we were there to enjoy ourselves and were not in any hurry. Please remember this is a super local pub not a restaurant with several staff!!The prices for the food was excellent and infact we left that day making a birthday booking for the new year.

Came here with a party for Christmas lunch, As two parties had been booked in our seating was crammed. The service was slow between courses and we had to ask them to take our plates away. We had to wait for the other party to be served before we had our sweets and our party was getting restless.. The food was ok, although our veg was served after the meat. Think Claire would be better having one party at a time rather than trying to cope with two.

Our keep fit group had our Christmas lunch here, everybody complained that the potatoes were hard as were the parsnips, and some of us only were served the carrots and brussell sprouts when we had more or less finished our meal. Not once were we asked by the waitress if everything was okay with the meal. We all said we wouldn't go back there again.

Pub food home cooked as you wait, real chips not out of a packet. Worth waiting for, always clean and staff very good
