I think the female owner of this place needs some anger management therapy. After stumbling across an altercation whilst leaving between her and two other customers leaving, we were told “you can clear off as well” having had no par in what ever that initial altercation was about. Other members of staff seemed highly embarrassed by this out of control rant. Anyway nice coffee, and nice employed staff, the owner it appears has some issues she needs to deal with, before she gives herself heart failure.

CAR PARK NEEDS A BIG REVAMP !!!! cost more to clean inside of my car after a visit than what I paid for my plants!!! Muddy gravel! Cement sluch & mud etc.although we had a cover for the boot for the plants. The interior mats + our dog grey mush footprints needed a lot to be desired! + our footwear what a mess & knowing our summer weather isn't brill looks like an ongoing concern. Sort the car park please!!!

Food & drink was okay but nothing exceptional this time round. Reasons for ‘average’ Lots of staff & cafe pretty quiet, lots of chat going on behind the till about somebody leaving & looking at cards, not focused on the customer. Lots of dog bowls outside, but none with water in, apart from one which was obviously old water with a dead spider in it. Asked twice for a bowl to be filled. Need a tap or bottle outside so customers can do it themselves (or remove the bowls?) The outside tables are looking a bit ‘tatty’ & could do with a paint / sand / treatment. There was a large dog poo next to a table, lots of staff walked past it / didn’t notice. We picked it up (was not our dog who left it!)

This was our second outing here after a positive 1st experience. Wish we hadn't bothered. We went to celebrate my husband & father's birthdays. The sausage had shrunk from the 1st time and the food was cold & was served on cold plates. A couple on the next table also complained about their cold food & got a refund; we didn't get a refund & wasn't offered one In fact i don't think the waitress even reported back to the kitchen. It cost £58 for something that wasn't worth it. Will definitely NOT be returning! Very disappointed on what should have been a celebration

Nice tearoom and lovely staff but unfortunately the ambience was ruined by loud music and constant ringing of a phone behind the counter, we could barely hear each other speak. We only wanted a toasted tea cake and coffee but were told there was a 30 minute wait for food so had to forgo the tea cake 🤷♀️. However the food being served to other diners did look lovely but not sure if I’d want to wait 30 minutes each time I visited.

Late afternoon visit. I had beef teriyaki baguette, really tasty. The menu said “salt & pepper fries”, the dish was with normal fries (which were nice but not as described). Others had chicken Caesar salad, looked good with plenty of chicken & was enjoyed by all. We did order a portion of fries on the side, unfortunately these didn’t arrive & we had to ask for them, to be fair they did arrive quickly once we’d queried them.

I live an hour away, but with a friend we decided on a recommendation to visit on a day trip out in the area. The Tea Room is fabulous, quite large, split into a number of areas and plenty of space to dine outside. Today as it was very sunny and warm it had open windows and doors and you felt like being in Spain. The young lady who served us was lovely, we even had a conversation about her Cream Primark Trousers, The service and food were delicious, with very good sized portions and great quality and presentation. My only negative would be £4.50 for a tiny portion of triple cooked, chips is rather steep. Would we make the long distance effort to visit again... a definite yes.

Very expensive and poor choice on the menu especially as a vegetrian. Menu has changed and the choice now is lot less and more expensive. I had the hot beef barm and chips which cost £14, can get a large bagette with hot hand carved beef joint and chips in local super market for half the price. What was served was a barm supermarket sliced beef warmed up in a barm cake. Choice for vegeterians even worse quiche of the day which is meant to be veggie on the day was actually Brie and ham.

My husband and I went for lunch today. We were really looking forward to it after months of staying in. Had booked a table but, when we arrived, we stood in the doorway and were ignored for quite a while. We were then told to go to Table 2 which was the worst table there. Everyone else was sitting on large wooden tables (even if there were only 2 of them like us) and we had a small metal table with barely enough room. Our strawberry milkshakes were lovely and my quiche and salad was nice. However, my husband's beef barm was awful. It contained fatty, stringy beef and came with thin MacDonalds type chips instead of chunky chips which he was expecting. It certainly wasn't worth £10! We won't be returning.

My family and I came here for a meal on Sunday. The whole place was packed full of people so a wait was expected. But even though we weren’t booked they still managed to find us a table where we wanted to sit. Once the food and drinks came I couldn’t fault them. I had the chicken skewer which was delicious and filling. The staff were lovely and attentive . Could not fault it. Would definitely recommend coming here.

This has been a favourite venue for a number of years ago however today’s visit was a major disappointment. Service was really slow, it took over 10 minutes after being seated for anyone to come and offer to take an order, let alone sort any drinks; drinks then arrived then half way through the main course. A main course that had to be sent back because the salad leaves weren’t washed properly and then a slice of lemon cake was served up looking decidedly worse for wear with its lovely lattice topping obliterated.Feedback was really not wanted by the supervisor who processed our bill and no real apology was offered in spite of the fact that we had had a number of issues whilst we were there. It is a real shame as we were really looking forward to today’s visit and it has definitely not lived up to expectations.

After queuing, we were shown to a table that hadn't been cleaned properly, crumbs all over the table and on the chairs, even the people on the next table told us it hadn't been cleaned. We wasn't ordering food, just 2 coffees and a buttered scone, the waitress took our order and we sat there and sat there for 25 minutes, other people were getting served but not us. Two waitresses asked us if we had ordered, we told them yes but yet still no coffee came. So we decided to leave. Have been here before and although the service is slow it has never been this bad, plenty of staff standing round. Will not be returning here.

I love daisy Clough, it’s a lovely trip out for a family. The shop is stocked with beautiful things, the decor is lovely, the food is always amazing and most importantly for us it’s spacious. We have two small children and cafes are often something we avoid due to lack of space with Prams and wondering kids, but daisy clough ticks all the boxes. Always high chairs available and nice big tables (also smaller tables if that’s what you want!) It’s clean and all the staff are so friendly. Highly recommend a visit then a nice wonder around the garden centre and the village of Scorton after (also has a play area on the village green) I’ve bought many plants from daisy that have always been well kept and established, for good prices. Looking forward to visiting the shop when the Christmas stock is out!

Our breakfast was very enjoyable and seemed normal even though it was a very strange time when we came here. Food was to a high standard and the service was pleasant. The one problem is that we waited at least five minutes to be served, in front of a “Please wait to be seated sign”, only to be told that you didn’t have to wait and could sit anywhere. However, this is only a minor issue and wouldn’t stop us from coming again.

Attended for lunch and due to covid 19 wasn't sure what to expect. There were no instructions to advise customers what to do and after making contact with a member of staff was advised to find a table and then place my order at the counter .We had to queue which we expected and then sat at our table. We sat at table 20 which was far too close to other tables and SHOULD NOT have been there and looking back we should have left at this point. Our coffee was brought almost immediately and then we waited almost an hour for our order. We should have left but we were hungry so stayed. The good thing was the wait was ALMOST worth it as the food was excellent but would i be in any rush to return due to wait......not sure.

Have been here before but on this occasion felt very let down. The service was awful. The order came at different times and was wrong. A coffee didn’t even appear although we asked 3 times. The waitress had so much false tan on it was questionable that she should have been serving food. Toast that was ordered came after we had eaten. Several dogs were in the cafe and were allowed to wander around and were barking. The owners and staff seemed oblivious. Dogs Should be in one part of the cafe and not allowed to free roam. Its an accident waiting to happen. Has made me look at where else available.

Four of us booked a lunchtime table at Daisy Clough. It was signposted as reserved for us so we had no problems despite the restaurant being very busy. We ordered our meals (2 Steak Pies, 1 Quiche and 1 Pizza) and drinks. They serve Lancaster Brewery beer but only in bottles so I stuck to coffee. I have visited this lovely cafe several times since they opened after being advised to do so when I bumped into a friend up Nicky Nook (a lovely walk nearby.) I have been with both with friends and family and being able to take my Labrador is a huge bonus. Not once have a had a bad experience, even when they are busy they always do their up most to accommodate myself and who ever I am with. The food has always been excellent, I try to go for the specials now as the quality of the meals are way past what I would class as ‘cafe food’ admittedly if your later in the day the specials can run out but surly this is only evidence of how popular they are and it’s not a problem anyway because the main menu is also excellent (especially the cheese and onion pie!) The shop is also lovely, actually full of nice, tasteful things, no tat. I haven’t really been in a big party but seen a few and the afternoon teas looks lovely! Would advise a visit to anyone!

We held my sisters birthday lunch here, which was no mean feat for the tearoom as there were plenty of loud adults and lots of very young children. The staff were absolutely wonderful and couldnt do enough for us, being incredibly patient when dishing out all the food, and catering for all sorts of requirements. It was also a really nice touch that we had brought a cake, they provided candles and all the staff came and sang happy birthday. Today was the third attempt for this cafe after previously having burnt and cold hot food we decided perhaps a cheese and a ham sandwich with chips would be an easy option - WRONG ~ ITS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE ITS A SANDWICHThe bread was so thick it was inedible - the bread was dry no butter - the grated cheese was a huge solid lump and tasteless the crisps were soggy and to top it all the cold chips were served in a small frying basket and plopped unceremonoulsy on the table with no plate or bowl.(on a previous visit a cat was sat on the table and a dog was sat on a customers knee eating food) The salt was wet and we gave up after swapping two others from other tables .All this for over £18.00 The coffee was nice but not very hot. We also noticed a member of the kitchen staff walk throught the cafe with the dirtiest apron i have ever seen in my life !!! and she was covered in flour. Not a good impression of kithen cleanliness. The customer service was excellent and we received a full refund and the offer of a free coffee which we declined we just wanted to leave asap (The chef did not make an appearance left it to the young lady to sort)We will still frequent the garden centre the plants are great value for money pity the same cannot be said for the cafe.

Enter though the shop area and browse the quirky items as well as clothes and gardening tools, move along to the greenhouse area where you can choose from the plants, flowers and trees. The tearoom is a large spacious area with plenty of seating and spotlessly clean. Service is via a table menu that you then order at the toll area after you have browsed all the homemade cakes. My wife & I had heard about this place so last Friday we set out to find it and try it! We duly arrived and negotiated the single track approach road over the river. Parking was plentiful as we arrived but that soon changed as more & more people arrived. We had a look at the Nursery and both of us liked what we saw - mainly good quality & good quantity of plants though we identified a number of plants that were covered in Black Fly. It is a pleasant environment to slowly wander around which is what we did for 25/30 minutes. We then headed for the restaurant where we were greeted by a member of staff and invited to find ourselves a table. This we did, we then looked at the food on offer, made our choices and waited. I ordered a Jerk chicken wrap and my wife ordered the daily Quiche and two strong black coffees. I stressed "strong" but as usual we got standard black coffee that was not going to set anyone's taste buds ringing. Our food arrived, it was nicely presented and it tasted good - so two "strong" coffees and two sandwich main courses cost just under £20.00.

So many people had told us how lovely the food is here, that we decided we must go and try it. We only ordered mushroom soup and a cup of tea each, but there was some lovely-looking food being served. A large pot of tea arrived, but we had drunk two cups and still no food. We approached someone clearing tables and she apologised, saying there had been a problem with the till and our food was on its way. It was! Two large bowls of vegetable soup arrived, and we were so hungry, we didn't argue with the young man who set them down on the table and started to eat. So much pepper in the soup that we could not taste the vegetables. We wondered if the mushroom soup we had ordered would have been so peppery, and left, rather disappointed. We will try it one more time, everyone deserves a second chance.

I have had really good fish and chips from here -on 3 occasions butt not this time! Firstly the man on the till had very little understanding of the menu. I ordered haddock, small chips and mushy peas. he appeared not to understand or be able to use the till. I repeated my order - 3 times! Eventually a young man came to assist and I asked him to read back my order. He read - chicken and mushroom pie and chips!!! I corrected him and asked again for regular haddock, small chips and mushy peas. Great he said - I asked him to read my order back - he said cod, small chips and mushy peas!!! By now I was getting fed up as there seemed little appetite for good customer service. Eventually after one more attempt it was sorted out. The first guy started frying. He wore no apron, no hat or protective head wear, he didn't wash his hands. The young man on the till wore no 'food prep' clothing or headwear When the fish came out, the batter looked crispy. However when I started to eat it - the batter was not cooked, it had holes in it and the consequently fish was over cooked. The batter was crispy on the outside and slimy white on the inside - suggesting that the fat had not been brought up to temperature before the fish was put in. The chips had clearly been reheated by putting them in hot fat just before serving. The peas were good. I think the owner or manager was sitting in the background on their phone - their time may have been better helping the staff - who clearly didn't have a clue! The key to any good business is quality, consistency and customer care. This business had none! I will not be going back

Poor service on arrival, no welcome greeting or anything. Could cut the tension between the staff in the OPEN kitchen with a spoon. No staff wearing gloves whilst handling meat and vegetarian options or anything in the kitchen for that matter. Share one fryer for meat and hash browns which are supposed to be vegetarian. Lady who handled food at the end just winged it into the hot hold as if it was rubbish. No wonder the hygiene rating isn’t on display.
