The chips weren’t cooked properly and the kebab meat was cold

The driest chips I've ever eaten in all my life!! Honestly inedible! And 80% of them were little scraps! And we had two large chips not a little cone. We even had curry sauce! That did nothing for them, still dry. Chips were lovely under the old owner. What a waste of money

Have bought three fish and chips and one sausage and chips tonight- cannot eat any of the chips- dried up and chewy- cost over £20! Disgusting to serve the chips like that! Have just tried to call to complain but no one answering, never buying from here again!

Average chippy. Didn't have haddock (as listed on the board), only cod. Okay chips, bit stingy with the sauces, etc. Polite staff.

Dreadful !!!! Use to go there but no horrid went today had cold kebab meat hard chips and rotten cucumber and tomato no lettuce available! Cost more than other chip shops and just disgusting threw most in bin ! Called them no answer. Will never go again and I beg no one else to. You will be severely disappointed! My little one couldn’t eat any of hers she asked why it was cold and chips were hard !

My husband son n daughter just brought food back.chips tinned roe curry sauce and kebab meat.chips were absolutely disgusting. Totally old n reheated .never had chips so bad 👎 I called them and asked to speak to the manager...they put the phone down on me !

Really disgusting. The worst chips I've ever had in my life and that's not an exaggeration. I had chicken and mushroom pie, a cone of chips and small curry sauce and it was nearly 7 pound. The pie was microwaved and still cold the oil for the chips smells and tastes like it hasn't been changed in about 4 months. Absolutely vile. How is this place even open.

Well what can I say I brought 3 chips one curry sauce opened the chips and oh my god terrible they tasted so bad , was given full refund no problems there , but hey guys sort out the oil is either old or not suitable for chips I have never tasted chips so dreadful 🤔

Very disappointed 😞 I ordered a lamb kebab wrap meal that was £6.90 I must say the chips where disgusting (reheated) dry with no flavours at all tasted like dirty cooking oil, the meat in the wrap tasted funky like it been sitting in the warm tub for hours (very dry and poor quality), the staff are just ignorant with no customer at all. The shop smells like dirty grease soon as you walk in and the prices are ridiculous. KEEP AWAY FROM THIS DIRTY PLACE 🤢

Dry food & staff were rude. Staff spoke in their native language quietly while I was being served, and sniggered at me, obviously being rude about something. Made me feel uncomfortable. Would not recommend at all.

Place is awful now. Was a lovely chip shop a few months ago. Batter on the sausage was soggy. Pie was dry. Chips tasted like old oil. Awful and pricey for what u get. Avoid .

Pre ordered over phone ,they asked how long I would be and replied I'm only 5 minutes away, they said yes that's fine no problem. Arrived to collect and had a 20 minute wait, why they just didn't say it won't be ready for 25 minutes and we could have set off later so we wasn't kept waiting so long I dont know. Got home and chips was cold and horrible and fish was over cooked. Feel like I've been ripped off won't use it again.

Awful chips, not a single nice chip, every one of them like the scratchy ones at the bottom, will never go there again

Went in for something to eat after a long, bad day. Thought it was funny on a Friday evening at a chippy there were no customers. Got home a food tasted like it had been cooked in old oil. Smell in house is lingering. This place needs investigating by health. Change oil. It's disgusting. 🤮.

New owners have run this place into the ground. The current staff cannot understand the simplest of orders. The is always a queue while people are waiting for their food as the staff can't cope with even the most basic order. They have a card machine they seem to be sharing with the shop next door as the staff member told us they didn't take card and then went nextdoor to get a card machine. I ordered a chicken kebab and got a pitiful excuse for a kebab £6.50 for what is in the picture below. Absolutely useless. Avoid the place.

I could only put 1 star for it as I ordered a too good to go bag for 9.30pm. Drive 15 mins to the place to find it closed but happy to take my fiver which I will get refunded but not the point

The fish was soggy and undercooked The chips are the worst things I’ve ever had in my life, the only decent thing there was the curry sauce and it costs an arm and a leg DO NOT RECCOMEND

The quality of the meal is average at best (I had mini cod & chips) but the portion was small. However the biggest problem was the price - I had to pay £8.20 for just the fish and chips, whereas 2 days later at another chippie I bought mini cod & chips, plus a can of coke for £7.20. This shows that "Tasty Plaice" are overcharging with no increase in quality. At these prices I definitely will not be going to Tasty Plaice again

Absolutely disgusted we waited and they were not open when we arrived in-between our pick up time. So no food at all and now awaiting a refund. Avoid this place at all costs it's not worth your time and especially your money!

Just picked up my sausage in batter and curry sauce as I was staving all day working and it’s honestly the best I’ve had !! Well done

Disappointed by the taste of food. Very bland. Even the service was very off. After complaining to the staff, they were being rude instead of listening to my concern. Neve ever recommending this place

Service was poor, borderline rude. Two staff, no customers when I entered. One on his phone, another cleaning. Both ignored me for over a minute before acknowledging me. Mediocre chips.

Being going here since they opened. The food is always fresh the staff are always friendly. Never been disappointed

Honestly had the perfect experience for what I wanted, went to order for the household. Staff were friendly and vibrant room the food back chips were great and the meat was some of the best I’ve tried, definitely would go back!

Honestly i feel bad for the staff in this shop. The owner had himself posted up on a chair in the middle of the room watching every move his workers make, he interrupted them twice during my order, he slagged off other local chip shops for daring to have anything on display while he had literally nothing, he bragged about his holidays around the world to customers, then had the audacity to suggest my Wife fancies one of his staff. When we finally got our food it was dry and old. Honestly what a disgusting man

Ordered from to good to go. Says £15 worth of food. Was given around £4-5 worth of food which was disgusting. Was hard and wasn’t fresh at all I would of said a good 2 days old. Think it’s awful that they are using too go to go to there own personal greed. Says £15 worth for £5 and get given £4-5 worth of manky food from the day before 🙄 think it’s so greedy of them and think they should be ashamed for completely misusing the the whole purpose of too good to go and believe they should be banned from the website. Normally excellent but last visit my chips weren't fresh

was a bad chip shop before the re-firb/ new owners. After it seemed to of improved and went back a few times but then had a couple of bad meals - and it seems prices got raised loads and portions dropped

Just bought chips and savaloy the chips were pale and undercooked, I usually go to wychall but it was closed being bank holiday. The prices are to high to be given substandard food sort it out or you will lose customers ,very disappointing

Paid almost 8 pound for fish and chips and you get the smallest amount of chips ever, fish was tiny also, women was completely rude, went to give her the money and she stood away from the desk so I jad to reach over, absolutely disgusting service and rude as HELL worker. She needs firing!

Food is poor quality. How they are still open is a mystery. Tried twice thinking the first time was a bad day. Worse second time round and they certainly know how to charge as well. Wouldn't mind paying more if the quality was better than others. Just isn't. Simple.

Brought a Too Good to Go bag for £5 meant to be worth £15. Walked away with one scoop of chips, a pie and a scallop. Food was absolutely awful ended up throwing it. Would of been better feeding it to the bin

My wife had the mini fish and chips Friday evening, she has done nothing but throw up since, used to use this place regularly but never again. Doctors think it’s food poisoning.

Lovley chicken kebab meat and chips . Just wish they did Chinese style curry sauce.

The staff was friendly enough, the food was not as nice as I would have liked, chips was a bit cardboard tasting.. so I wont be in too much of a rush to return.

Had severe Food poisoning from Tasty Plaice me and 3 other colleagues after eating their Cod and Chips on Monday had to all be sent home from work that day and we all had a terrible weak, I would not touch them with a barge pole emailed them and they didn’t respond

The prices have gone way up and I think they charged me £1.50 for a can of coke that's way to much and the chicken was slimy. Wasn't nice at all.

Thourghly disgusted at being ripped off here. Visited today, one piece of fish in counter, server told me it was mini ordered and paid for large fish, asked to wait 6mins, I didnt see them wrap it up as waited outside 4miles down the road pulled over to eat it, and to my utter disgust, I'd paid for large fish and they had given me a mini. Utter disgrace, embarrassment to you family. Shop had one other customer so no excuse of being busy. An to top it off all the fresh cooked food didn't go into my order chips were old, dry an cold. Shame on you!

I tried this chippy for the first time after seeing it was under new management. The look and cleanlines of the place has changed massivly for the better. When I arrived there were two people cleaning the outside of the windows. the inside appeared spotless. I was going to try mini fish and chips but the fish looked thin and unappitesing. So I went for chicken and chips special. I have to say I was very impressed. The chicken was not oozing oil like it would have being under the previos owners and the chips were mush better too. In fact they were piping hot I had to put them to one side to let them cool before I could eat them. I will be going there again for my lunch, and wish the new owners every success for the future. From what I experienced today you a million times better than the previous owner!

First time here - food was really nice and fresh. My only niggle is the kid's meals. They came with plenty of chips but only 3 nuggets, no little drink, lollipop etc. Prices reasonable. I'd go here again

bought my family dinner from here tonight and the food wasnt up to much good and my mom found a pieace of metal in her fish , as she nearly chocked on it , i say really appling , the food used to be really nice from here but i advise not to go to this chipy , i will be takin buissness somewhere else better

I wouldn't recommend food food from this place. Nasty and off and bits of cleaning products in the food. Such as metal scouring pad .the old people wernt great but theese are worse

Have visited several times recently and everything has been great. Today tried the battered chips. They are truly amazing!! Do try them if you haven't already. Mondays and Wednesdays. So yummy. Great value, too. Keep it up. This will be our regular chippy from now on.

Cold tasteless chips this time and a pie with a rock hard inedible crust last time. Was good, now not since new management. Can I have half of my money back please? I had to eat some of the food but only because I was starving. Wish I hadn't.

Was the worst chippy I have ever been to chips tasted a week old and the mayonnaise I had tasted mouldy I recommend not coming to this place

Not great, not cod, wait for it to be cooked, and the roe was sloppy, curry sauce watered down, and definitely not cod, so that's both fairfax chippy and this I'll stay away from, and why is there a taste of soap in most take out, I know keep clean but not so the taste is in my food

First time trying since it got took over and can say the food was really nice fast service will definitely go there agen

We've always enjoyed the food from The Tasty Plaice. The chips are brilliant, lovely service & offers are awesome value, especially the Family Pack for £15. Long may they reign!!

Would give more stars if I could. An error occurred on a recent visit, the staff seemed genuinely horrified with the mistake and delivered the corrected order to our door and couldn't be more apologetic. Haven't received such professional service for many years.

5 stars service and great quality food, especially the battered chips. One of my order as take away was wrong, the shop offered to deliver the correct order to home and done within swift of time ....very impressive.

The fish and chips are absolutely out of this world 😃. Everything’s lovely fresh a clean . Really impressed with the place and the food . The food there is lovely, been there about 4 times now, I’ve tried different things there each time I’ve gone there and no complaints whatsoever. Plus they do battered chips Mondays and Wednesdays so that’s an added bonus.

Since the new people took over my order for large cod and chicken and chips has really improved. First class service and super food.
